Very negative experience. I went in to get a dress tailored and was met with extreme annoyance that I was there at 6pm (they close 6:30pm). The woman pinned up my dress in frustration and rolled her eyes that I wanted it altered differently since she was in a rush. Once it was pinned to my liking, she rushed out of the dry cleaning to go home. I could not get out of my dress with the pins in it, and the man working there said impatiently that I couldn't take the pins out since they marked where alterations were needed. I ended up taking the pins out and leaving, since I had no other option. Will not be coming back. Quality plus dry cleaner did a fabulous job instead for a better price. read more

Friendly and considerate service. Mary remembers my phone number and what I carry my laundry in. Reliable, too. I used to go to a nearby cleaners shop--just one block west of this location--and the guy was frequently out picking up or delivering laundry. He had no one to watch the shop and would put up a sign, lock the door, and be away for anywhere from a short time to up to 15-20 minutes. He'd leave a phone number on the door but not answer it. Okay, so he used to have someone working with him, then ended up working alone. So, that was the problem. I understand. But I finally jumped ship the *second* time he never showed up on a day when the shop should have been opened. I tried Pinnacle instead and have never looked back. I didn't think I would be writing a review for a cleaners but here we are. I've been using them for drop off wash & fold and dry cleaning for 4 years now, no complaints. Very fast and friendly service. The five stars today are for their mending/alterations services. I dropped off a pair of stained and ripped silk pants praying they could do SOMETHING to make them wearable again, and boy did they deliver. I can't even tell where the holes used to be! They look brand new. I am shocked. It was around $20 for the spot, cleaning plus mending in two areas, much less than I expected (I paid $50 nearby to have a strap taken in). Pinnacle Cleaners is my cleaners by default because they are less than 50 yards away from my apartment. I'm one of their best customers because I have no desire to take hours out of my day and run the laundry in the basement of my apartment complex, I am simply too lazy and too much of a guy to tend to my clothes for hours. The service here is among the elite. If I drop off laundry before I go to work, it will be ready by the time I get home. They are open 7 days a week with longer hours than most of their competitors. There was one time I was running about 10 minutes late to pick up my laundry (the place closes at 7) and they kept the store open so I can pick my stuff up. They had every right to close at 7, the fact that they did that for me does not go unappreciated. The staff here is also a pleasure, the main tailor is usually running around or sitting at her sewing machine working on alterations while blasting female pop music like Madonna or Lady Gaga. I have gotten some alterations done here in the past to sew back pockets or put buttons back on certain garments that were as good as promised. At this point, the staff at Pinnacle doesn't even have to ask me for the last 4 digits of my phone number anymore because they remember it. Between the impeccable client centered service and the fact the fine folks at Pinnacle remember my phone number, it is things like this that are going to make me sad to one day leave the neighborhood feel of the East Village. read more

When this Dry Cleaner opened on my block a few years back I was actually happy to have something so close by. The cleaning services are just fine. But to have anything altered you have to deal with the very rude woman who works there. She spends her time "bad mouthing" the owner whom she claims is cheap. She is impatient and downright rude to some patrons. And that is on a good day. If you catch her in a bad day, she can be really offensive and disrespectful. I now walk an extra block to the Dry Cleaner who appreciates customers and does a great job. read more

I dropped a coat off Sunday that had a very fresh and barely noticeable marinara stain on it, they gave me my ticket which showed it would cost $11. I came back on Tuesday and the woman told me the guy working on Sunday is an idiot and should have charged me $16.50, she then refused to give me my coat unless I paid this arbitrary $16.50 and told me I could come back and speak to her manager. The most ridiculous encounter ever. I told her I would not pay more than what was on my printed ticket and that I was not going to come back for my coat. She wouldn't budge until I told her I'd write a bad yelp review. Only then did she let me leave with my coat at the price on my receipt. She then told me she'd remember that the next time I came in....lovely service. They did get the stain out at least. read more

Came by here to drop off a pair of dress slacks for dry cleaning. First off, the cleaning was excellent, but that's not even the best part. The staff here is extremely friendly, and even funny! Nice people who work there but unfortunately they do their dry cleaning and washing offsite. I should've learned my lesson when they lost the first item and reimbursed me for a quarter of the price of my item. But instead I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just recently they lost two much more expensive items. The sad truth is they just aren't a good spot to try and save some money. Mary is a sorcerer of a seamstress. She can do anything and typically in a short period of time and I find the prices for her art very reasonable. The dry cleaning is pretty good as well. I think in about 6 years I had a problem once. The hours are great, as well. read more

Horrible, horrible experience here. DO NOT GET ALTERATIONS DONE HERE! Dropped of a gown to have some alterations done-- some stitches in the middle to make the dress less revealing, and two stitches on the side of the dress to make the top lie flat by the armpits. Not as simple as hemming, but not complicated for a seamstress by any means. I needed the dress for an event on Friday, and dropped it off it Monday morning (tried to drop it off over the weekend but the seamstress wasn't there). I called on Thursday to see if it was done early, and it was, so I went to pick it up so that I could have it a full day before the event. I asked if I could try the dress on, which seemed to greatly annoy both the seamstress and the employee behind the counter (confusing, because I'm pretty sure doing this is standard practice at any place that does alterations). Once it was on, I was hugely disappointed. Somehow, despite the simplicity of what I asked for, the alteration made the dress completely uneven (one side of the chest was noticeably looser than the other, to the point where it looked like the chest was composed of two entirely different cup sizes). I immediately showed it to the seamstress and pointed out the very obvious discrepancy, and she repeatedly answered, "I didn't touch that part of the dress, it was like that!" Of course, utterly ridiculous. I tried the dress on 3-4 times before bringing it in and while it needed to be altered to be more conservative, it was certainly not uneven by any means. All of he alternations I needed were all around the top of the dress, and I think she likely stitched the fabric unevenly in the center, so that one side of the chest was tighter than the other. When I paused to reflect on how this could be fixed in one day, the seamstress repeatedly raised her voice at me, told me she did nothing wrong with the dress, and told me that I needed to tell her what I wanted immediately because she was leaving. I was at a loss for words. I gave up, paid for the service and left. Got home and tried it on for my roommates, who were horrified at how obvious the uneven structure at the top was. I ended up doing a couple of stitches to fix it myself, and it looked fine (but she of course should have offered to do this for me at the store, once it was incredibly obvious that something was wrong). All in in all, a terrible experience, and despite living less than a block from this place, I will never go back. read more

Took a pea coat to be dry cleaned and have the buttons replaced. Very friendly and attentive service, delivered exactly what I needed. Have heard that a hemming became undone quickly on a friend's pair of trousers, but it was a rush order. Overall, I would recommend Pinnacle to a friend, especially because they care about their client relationships. read more

I came here to have some viscose pants hemmed, and the woman working was very friendly and had less than a 24 hour turn around and reasonable price for hemming. Unfortunately after getting home I noticed that the seam on my pants was done completely unevenly, making it so they hang strangely when I wear them. They are long, wide-legged pants, but the way they are hemmed they turn up on the sides like wing tips rather than hanging straight down like they should. Luckily, she didn't take any fabric off so I can probably get them fixed somewhere else, but it feels like money down the drain. If you have jeans or some easy to mend fabric it will probably be fine, but this looks like a rush job on a fabric she wasn't used to handling. read more
