I have used Tatyana since 2022 to the present. The service was excellent but in the last month it has become unprofessional and rude to customers who complain about their unprofessional treatment. Twice in a month they returned laundry without returning my laundry bag. When I notified them the on the second occasion the response was "You never gave us a laundry bag" The second time this occurred they returned my laundry in a garbage bag and the laundry was damp. and after I complained about not receiving the bag and the damp laundry Ihey sent back my bag with someone else's laundry in it. When I complained about that they blacklisted me as customer despite 3 years of my patronage. read more

I have consistently used Tatyana's cleaning services for 3 years now. Their wash and fold is extremely reliable and will take care your things exactly the way you ask. They also sort it in a way that makes it simple for put away. Each of the staff members are extremely friendly and really take care of their returning customers. I don't even have to say my name when I drop my laundry off! I also have used them for stain removal, garment fixes, and dry cleaning. Each time I drop something off, it comes back basically as good as new. One time I brought in an expensive dress which I basically spilled an entire plate of grease on. It's one of the most conveniently located cleaners in the Village after a string of recent closures nearby. They guy working the counter is friendly, but the prices are pretty unpredictable. Nothing out of the ordinary for basics like sweaters and scarves. However, it's a very fine line for what they deem a "short" coat versus a "long" one. Once you fall on the wrong side of that line, your wallet is going to be very sad indeed. They also have a tailor on-site who's good and reasonably priced for small things like buttons - but have yet to deal with anything more "major." read more

I had collected two two pair of vintage "Harem" pants from a very famous designer. Both were gorgeous, and made for a much taller and much bigger person. Also, the designer cut of the pants made fixing them seem impossible even to me. I come from a family of dressmakers and tailors. As a last resort I brought these beauties to the tailor at Tatyana. He'd never seen anything like them. He spent half an hour trying out different solutions. Each pair was cut differently and had different issues. He explained what he was going to do and told me what the cost would be. A week later I have two perfectly fitted pairs of Harem pants with all the original details in place. I've used Tatyana cleaner at three times. The first time they lost a pair of pants. The second time several shirts were not cleaned on time due to "stains". I later discovered that several shirts had shrunk and were damaged. I decided to give them last try - the third time I was fully charged for shirts delivered with stains. When pointing this out to the manager I got a nasty reply. Avoid this cleaner at all costs! read more

They ruined my navy silk blouse. It used to look a bit darker under the arms where I sweated. However, it was not obvious. When I picked up the blouse, it was white under the arms. It was a navy blouse! Couldn't they see that it is destroyed with the huge white patches underarms? I pointed it out to them and they gave me some statement like "this is natural". read more

Look, I ain't gonna lie. I don't know a thing about dry cleaning. My conversations with the dry cleaner usually go like this: Dry Cleaner: "Starch collars?" Me: "Sure." Dry Cleaner: "Dry cleaning or press?" Me: "You pick." Dry Cleaner: "Wash and fold?" Me: "Yeah, it's sunny outside. Why not. Can I have a side of spinach?" What I do know is that Joseph is a legend, his Tibetan assistant is a genuinely lovely dude, and the clothes are always impeccably cleaned, steamed, deep fried or whatever else it is that they do to them. I had a couple of things fixed, including a beautiful Armani cashmere coat. Joseph fixed the lining and cleaned it for me. Fantastically done. Not to get all sentimental, but... this place is what makes the Village the Village. Characters. Photos on the wall. Impenetrable accents. Smiles. Frowns. Honest opinions. Jokes about current affairs. I often hear big statements about how "New York ain't what it used to be"... but I think it's like an itinerary that you have to put together yourself. For me it's Tatyana, the Moroccan wine store down the road, the Stulman crowd, the Sicilian restaurant in Brooklyn that only speaks Sicilian, 8th street wine cellar, the Vanguard... Point being: it's there. You just have to look for it. New York ain't dead, it's just hiding under the sheets playing peek-a-boo. read more

Yeah its a little pricier, but, the quality of service is top notch. Very reliable service. And the tailoring is good too. I had a bad stain on my dress after enjoying delicious Indian meal . I was worried my dress was ruined . After searching for an emergency service I came upon this little store . The guys at the front were very friendly and courteous. I asked if I could get the stained removed since it has happened before curry stains are hard to remove . Not only did I received the dress spotless my dress came out like brand new .. since then I have been using this little gem of a store . I also noticed there were celebrities who used the service long time ago . I am glad that I am reviewing this store since this store not only salvaged my clothes it also gave me a piece of mind knowing my clothes are in good hands . AWFUL experience. They shrunk my cotton skirt when I specifically asked for dry cleaning and they could not get out a very recent stain on my other skirt, neither of which I was told about. I gave them two stars instead of one because when I went back, they did offer to stretch the skirt (not sure what that means), so we will see what happens with that. I've been taking my tailoring here for years, even when I have been living in other neighborhoods, because their quality has been hard to replicate. They are very conscientious, and will warn you if a garment may not come out as you wish. Their prices are not as bad as high-end tailoring specialty places -- but their quality is just as good. They will be pricier than some little neighborhood tailors, so maybe you want to take very basic pants hems elsewhere -- but I have ALWAYS been happy with their work, after dozens of items, and I can't say the same of any other tailor that I have ever used when I have lived in other cities. My clothes came back smelling horribly of BO, and not even mine. It smelled like instead of cleaning them, they had their staff eat a bunch of garlic and then hit the gym donning my clothes. To add insult to injury, the place is more than twice as expensive as the others I've tried in the village. $15 for a short, cotton, casual dress? $30 for a cotton dress that had a few sequin embellishments? I have always been FINE paying a little extra for good dry cleaning, but these guys are just out of control with the pricing for an au-de-locker room final product. Never again. read more
