Went to put on my new Cartier love ring this morning only to realize somehow it got all scratched up. I was devastated! Fotis at GoldNTime is a MASTER with true skill and artistry in his craft as a jeweler. My husband and I came to Fotis after another jewelry store could not get a very simple 6 prong solitaire setting for a new diamond ring done correctly for us. Even after numerous send-backs and revisions something was always either wrong or subpar (crooked, uneven, exposed soldering, unpolished prongs, etc.) I was gutted and we finally just took it as a loss and walked away. I came here on Yelp and searched jewelers and found Fotis at GoldNTime. I liked what I read in reviews and I especially liked that his work bench is right there in his shop and he is the actual jeweler and craftsman doing the work (the other business was sending it out each time, so they had no real control over the quality). When I explained the simple, classics 6-prong setting style I was looking for, Fotis new immediately what was needed; including talking me through the proper structure, proportions and support for my larger size stone. Not only did he have my ring setting done and my diamond set properly within a day... but he took a lot of extra care to pay attention to details like alignment and polish, of both the stone and the metal. The outcome? GORGEOUS! PERFECTION! My husband is also extra pleased because not only is the ring visually outstanding in its craftsmanship but we also now know, beyond any doubt, that the stone is set correctly and securely. Gold N Time came highly recommended from a dear family friend! I called to ask about ring resizing and he said it could be done same day, most likely, if the ring were dropped off by about 11AM. I came in and Fotis greeted me right away. He looked at my rings (I needed my engagement ring made a half size bigger) and confirmed the same price he had quoted on the phone. He asked if I wanted to leave my wedding band to be polished as well, at no additional charge. He told me he would call when he had finished, probably late afternoon. To my surprise, he called about two hours later and said they were ready (earlier than expected)! I came and immediately noticed how shiny and polished my rings were. And the resizing fit perfectly! When I was paying, I noticed he had milk and dark chocolate by the register. Chocolate bonus! Folis is such a warm and caring individual. My fiance bought this engagement ring for me and from daily wear and work, the platinum band had gotten scratched up. I originally went to Baron's in Dublin, but they wanted to charge me $70 for polishing because we had not bought the ring there--bad service in my opinon. But, then I found Goldntime and I called Folis and asked him how much he charges to polish a platium band, he said very honestly that he does not charge to polish rings and invited me to come over. He polished my ring in less than 2 minutes. Honesty and customer service are becoming more rare these days, but I'm so glad it still exists here. I'm so happy I found this place. The owner did a wonderful job on my gold bangle bracelet. The bracelet had been fixed twice by different jewelers. Nowhere near this workmanship. He was able to replace the clasps on my pearl bracelet without having to restring it. Wonderful job. He also fixed the broken watch band on my sons watch. No need to replace the band as I thought. Huge RAVE for an amazing small business! I have a St. Christopher pendant that a gift from my Mom, to my Dad on their 1st wedding anniversary and it was in need of a bale so that it could be placed on a necklace. I stopped by GoldNTime earlier this week for some assistance and explained, that the pendant was being gifted to my son who is currently away serving in the U.S. Marines and I needed to ensure that the bale and chain would be strong and withstand the rigor that Marines train with. As I chatted with Fotis, he shared that he was also in the Marines as a young man in Greece. We discussed what needed to be done for the pendant and he suggested the strongest of chains for the pendant and then, he said "this is my gift to you, no charge. As a Marine, I know what it's like and I know what parents go through" when their children are away serving their country. I was stunned, what a thoughtful and kind gesture! Fotis was very helpful from the start- Very pleasant, soft spoken and thorough but to the point. He gave me an idea of a time frame and what the service would include. We scheduled a time for drop off and away I went. When I dropped off my watch, Fotis was just as pleasant as my first encounter with him. He gave me a time frame of the service.
