I tried two coffees while I was here - a Columbian batch brewed and an Ethiopian pour-over - both roasted by the house under their Charis Coffee Roasters label. The Columbian was a bit strong and Jake, Michelle's husband, let me know they were training some new staff on the method they use to brew their batch brewed coffee. Michelle replaced the Columbian with a premium Ethiopian pour over. The Ethiopian was a well balanced roast with notes of lemony-citrus and hints of the earthy goodness that is particular to a good Ethiopian bean. The flavor was good throughout - from freshly brewed to room temperature. This single origin finishes a bit dry, so I'd pair it with some fresh fruit and yogurt rather than my customary bagel with cream cheese. If you are in the area, stop by and grab a drink. Barracuda's specializes in well-made coffee drinks that are carefully created for each individual taste. Doma coffee beans are the magic behind every beverage. Doma beans are roasted in Post Falls, ID by people who know what great coffee consists of. (I could easily write an entire page on the goodness that is Doma.) Coffee snobs and unsuspecting addicts alike swarm Barracuda's every day for their coffee fix. The service isn't always exceptional, but then when do addicts care about the service from their supplier? They have an easy loyalty program, and a mixture of ready-prepared baked goods and meal replacement bars. There's a seating area inside if you want to enjoy your coffee surrounded by the fresh roasted aroma. The only thing worth complaining about are their early closing hours. If you're passing through town, Barracuda's is worth the detour. read more

I agree with everyone else, Barracuda is the best coffee place around. A word of warning: Do not...I repeat...do not use any coffee names used by Starbucks in Barracuda. You will be given the barista death glare. I am not a big coffee drinker, mainly because I'm cheap, but sometimes I want a coffee concoction. I don't know the proper terminology, so I just call everything a "Frapachino". Big mistake! I still don't know what it's called, but it's blended, and it's got two shots of coffee, and vanilla, and about 1,000 calories, and sometimes if you didn't totally piss them off they will put whipped cream on top, and it's really, really good. I wonder if it's open at 4:07 pm on a Sunday afternoon? P.S. Can they do the cream art in cold drinks? That's super cool! read more

We pulled up to the shop, walked in about 30 minutes before closing and were greeted horribly, not even a "how are you"; the barista seemed a bit irritated. We finally received our coffee and to our surprise (we've read great reviews about this place) it was just plain awful. I'm sorry but I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

This is the only place that I will buy coffee in the Tricities. I'm originally from the Northeast, and I hate Starbucks with a passion, so that's not even an option (even though they have 2 per parking lot around here). The staff are great and they know their coffee (and are generous with the Starbucks slams). They also have a frequent buyer program and will give you the gift of coffee on your birthday :) As an added bonus, their coffee is roasted by a small company in Coeur d'Alene, ID (DOMA coffee roasting company), so it's not only delicious, but fair trade and sustainable. As if all that wasn't enough, the owner originally financed the operation by selling his 'Cuda, hence the car-related memorobilia around the shop. read more

Oh yes, I found a love for this place they make delicous coffee called killer carmel very, very tasty. They have yummy quiche bacon and egg that is to die for its light and flaky very good flavor. The ham and cheese crossiant was good, but way to oily just not to my liking on that aspect. My latte was good, my ham and cheese croissant perfect, and the wifi fast! Drinks come in 6 different sizes (8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32). There are non-coffee drink options, as well as fruit smoothies/freezes. I used to love this place!! I would drive 20 minutes out of my way just for a coffee, and chill with friends to catch up.. Since they have remodeled seems too open and everyone can hear your conversations. Not a place I would sit down with friends to chat or hang out. I will use the drive Thur only now. Let me start off by saying I'm not a die hard Starbucks fan and I try to support the local joints. I'll swing by Barracuda occasionally on my way out to West Richland, but don't go there very often. They're rather expensive for what they sell, and either they use a very bold espresso roast or their espresso shots are usually burt, giving everything I order a tart, dry taste. Last resort or on the way some where, sure. I wouldn't recommend going out of the way to get there, though. read more

I'm usually a plain coffee kinda gal but have tried a few different things and highly recommend the Hemi ( easy on the flavor for me)! I was becoming a Starbucks regular. Something I was not only ashamed of but sadly I was dumbing down my coffee discernment. Someone told me about Barracuda. I couldn't find it the first time I went looking. When I finally found it... I haven't darkened the doorstep of a Starbucks since. Baristas are obviously well trained and pull perfect shots.
