What a great find. The reviews on Yelp were very helpful. When we pulled in I wasn't sure what to expect, from the outside it doesn't say this is the place. But, once you walk in the place is really cool. The food was excellent and the portions were shareable to say the least. The edamame and calamari was delicious. We shared the seafood special and they plated it individually for us. Be sure to ask about off menu items, there were a lot. Best part is we went on our second night in Marathon and we are already planning to return again before we leave. Great spot!

    Grouper

Went for dinner on a Monday evening. Only a few tables were seated! Asked to sit outside. Server was lovely and attentive. We had the Brussel sprout in curry app. It was ok. No spice, but tasty. Husband had the grouper and said it was good. I had the lamb chops. I wanted to love them, but they were a bit tough. Overall a good experience though!

    Delicious homemade tomato soup

Attractively decorated air conditioned with very nice lunch fare Fresh food prepared as ordered Grilled mahi-mahi over salad was great BLT very good with wonderful homemade French fried potatoes A very nice homemade tomato soup Friendly staff hustling Clean well stocked restrooms I would recommend the Barracuda Grill

Only beer and wine? No problem! The best appetizer was the escargot and mushrooms- I never expected it to be prepared that way- outstanding! The seafood pasta with vodka sauce was perfection. Just keep asking for warm, succulent bread and dip away!

Yellowtail snapper with double vegetables (I skipped the mashed potatoes)

Very good, but not outstanding food served in large quantities. Great value in comparison to other sit down restaurants on Marathon. The fish here is better than anything I get back at home. But, after a week of eating yellowtail snapper at different places, I found this dinner credible and not the best. If I came here first, I may have given a fifth star. In the other hand, there was so much snapper that I couldn't finish it. Ship the shrimp shumai appetizer. Never had deep fried shumai before. And the dinner is so big, you don't need the appetizer.

Our family just had appetizers and they were amazing! The edamame and the fish dip was the best we'd ever had!

The lobster roll was good but had more roll than lobster. The lobster chowder was better than the lobster bisque I had at a different restaurant but still not as good as what I make at home. I tried the famous lobster Rueben. It was toasted perfectly on rye. It was fine but I think the sauerkraut over powers the lobster when the lobster needs to be the star of the sandwich. The beating I had here was probably the coconut shrimp with mango sauce. It was perfection. Deliciously crispy and the mango chutney was perfect with it. After we finished eating we went into the seafood market to check out their fresh seafood selection and grabbed a pie of key lime pie to go which comes in a little tart tin. It was really good flavored and the crust was obviously homemade. Not your typical graham cracker crust which was a nice change.

It wasn't the best meal we've ever had, but it was definitely the best food we had during our trip. Our favorites were the conch fritters, which were delicious, and the Angus cheeseburger, which was honestly the best thing we ordered. The mussels were also excellent and full of flavor. The shrimp ceviche was decent, but it could have used a little more seasoning, citrus, or zest. It felt a bit dry and didn't have the bright, fresh flavor I was expecting. The seafood platter was the biggest disappointment, especially considering the price. The mahi was under seasoned, and the texture wasn't enjoyable. The crab cakes had a fishy taste, and while the scallops were just okay, the shrimp was actually very good. The sweet potato side was delicious, but overall the platter didn't feel like a good value for what was served. Overall, despite a few misses, this was still the best dining experience we had in the Keys. The service was good, and there were enough standout dishes that we'd come back. I'd recommend sticking with the conch fritters, mussels, Angus cheeseburger, and shrimp.

We got seated inside just as the sun was starting to set. Sadly all the guests that had finished eating right before us decided to walk over to the dock outside the restaurant which just so happened to be the exact viewing location for the sunset so we didn't get any really good photos of it bc there were so many people over there videoing it and taking photos. It was still nice scenery while we waited for our food though. I ordered ceviche to start us off as our appetizer and it was really good. My dinner was a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. The sauce was supposed to be a white cream sauce but it was really runny. Even adding extra Parmesan cheese to it didn't help thicken it. It tasted ok. Not my best pick. I had a choice of soup or salad with it. I chose their she crab soup and I'm glad I did. It was great. Almost reminded me of homemade chicken and dumplings soup just with crab. I really liked it. I should have stopped with that and the ceviche. My husband got a grouper fish sandwich. He thought it was good but the prices were a bit high for what it was. His fish sandwich was $29. Although good, not worth $29. My pasta definitely not worth the $31. May be a bit of a tourist trap but the food was decent.

The place was basically dead at around 630 pm. That should have been our first red flag. Their menu actually looks a lot better than the lighthouse grill, but ugh everything really sucked. I had the plantains with pink salsa. The plantains were stale and not crispy. The pink salsa was really delicious though and that's the only reason this place got the extra star from me. For $10, the portion size sucked honestly. Ragz and I shared the fish tacos. I opted for fried fish. The whole thing was silly. The taco shells were almost inedible corn that was so hard and chewy that we ended up eating just the filling. The fish was unidentifiable given how thick the breading was. There was not enough fish in each taco. Similarly there was not enough slaw, which seemed decent to eat. Overall a total waste of money ($26). Service was iffy at best. The server seemed nice to chat with but also seemed very new/ spaced out. Kept asking my husband to get another beer though he repeatedly said no. Gave us menus that looked like a shark ate them ( they were wet and chewed out). Forgot to get us any silverware or napkins. I'd honestly stay away from here. Not worth the time, money or calories.

We sat outside hoping to see the manatees at one point- never saw them. We ordered the lobster enchiladas, shrimp Reuben, and blackened lionfish with coleslaw and potato salad. I tried to drown it in the sauce, rice and beans, but honestly, almost everything on our table lacked salt and flavor. Can't believe they said Guy Fieri liked this. The bottom of the shrimp Reuben was soggy that it started falling apart. There was like 4 shrimp inside. This one was probably the most flavorful- but I still wasn't impressed. Lastly, I knew lionfish needs a lot of seasoning, and having blackened lionfish helps. But the sides (the coldslaw and the potato salad) were....so so so disappointing. A review said it felt like they were eating cafeteria food- that's exactly what I felt as well. Really appreciate the server for being so attentive and kind- they even brought over another slice of key lime pie (we only ordered one) because it was taking a while- definitely didn't expect it but appreciated the sweet gesture. For the price of it all, I paid similar for a wonderfully delicious seafood meal the other day so quite disappointed it didn't come up to par.
