Spring Break!! Oh yeah Floriduh! If you have ever stayed in Marathon Key then you know options are limited... especially for me. I am a picky seafood eater. Stopped in here for breakfast and ordered at the bar; seafood omelette. Eggs was done well incorporating spinach; mushrooms and smoked salmon. Unfortunately no other fish options were available. Waffles and grits to go with it, orange juice to keep it all down. Taste was not too bad. Portions were good. Services were quick and prices are little more than I expected.. it's spring break so it ok. Would I choose to return maybe.. especially if to order a mahi sandwich for lunch. No AC, very limited dining area, it does not look like the photo on Google. When we were there, they had one weight staff for the whole place. The food was not good. The chicken dry a bone, fish tacos came out dripping with something, BLT looked like someone had just torn lettuce off thrown on a piece of bread and served it, bringing us to the black and grouper sandwich we had which I'm 99% sure was not grouper more than likely Corvina being passed off as grouper. Went today for breakfast with the family. I had asked for the egg sandwich and instead they gave me the 7 Mile sandwich. I pointed at it in the menu and asked her what kind of meat and what kind of bread could I get. The waitress said I could get any type of bread and didn't tell me there was upcharge for it. So I asked for fried egg, bacon, and cheddar cheese. And I asked it on a croissant. When I got the bill I got charged for a 7 Mile breakfast sandwich and they charged me extra for the croissant. When I asked the waitress I had asked for only the egg sandwich why didn't she tell me there was a upcharge for a croissant I would have not got it and stayed with the toast then she started yelling to her staff that I didn't want to pay for any sandwich when this wasn't true she was doing this in front of all the customers as well at the end she didn't charge me for the sandwich at all but I still pay for the sandwich that had ordered at the end and added it to the tip besides this the food was good but the service is really bad and the lady really needs to work on her attitude this was not my first time here and I wanted to go share this with my family but unfortunately I'm not coming back after this read more

Absolutely delicious!! If you haven't been to this Marathon icon, you need to go. This is classic keys at its finest! They are under new management and a new chef who has really made this place a gem! The burgers are delicious! The lobster bisque was great! And the blackened grouper is amazing - so tender and flavorful and the portion is enormous. We went the first night of our stay and had to go back a second time in 1 week. So we sat inside by the window looking out at the water. It's a small place inside. Clean and welcoming. We all ordered grouper sandwiches. Grilled and 2 blackened on Texas toast. This is a small road side no frills grill. They don't service liquor just a small selection of beer and wine. My wife and I split the Conch Fritters (5) which were done nicely with cocktail sauce on the side. My wife had their Mahi Mahi sandwich grilled with fries. Her opinion it was excellent moist and tender. I had their Shrimp/Mahi entree Blackened. With a small Conch Chowder. It was a plate full and delicious. But not worth the $33. this place is 10000 percent a keys vibe. one single bartender/waiter working and the "manager" helping. a few chefs in the back. we called ahead because we were a larger party and they were all set up for us when we arrived. waiter was SO NICE (forgot his name) and was super transparent when they were out of something. the bar is zero frills. no bar menu just "these are the alcohols we have, we can kind of make anything within reason" food took forever because it got crazy busy fast. when the food came everything was fantastic. zero complaints even from the children! my daughter said the burger was amazing and the owner/manager even brought us a pre dinner key lime pie slice "because I cut it too small". super hospitable and lovely people. if you come on here and complain about a wait or lack of seating, you must be new to the keys. classic rock jams, bob marley, a fruity drink, and some relaxed service IS the keys. step outside the hustle and bustle and enjoy the meal! read more

Ragz and I stopped by for breakfast today. Given the reviews, I didn't really know what to expect. We were lucky to not have to wait for a table when we got here - a line formed pretty quickly after us. There was gentleman playing the saxophone live while we ate, which was very nice. We got waters and the menus right away. Ragz got the steak and eggs with home fries. I opted for the 2 egg breakfast( added a third egg because I was starving), subbed the toast for a biscuit and asked for grits. Food took a bit to come out and they forgot my OJ until we reminded them, but they work on island time, so I'm not complaining. My eggs were cooked perfectly and they brought butter and jelly for toast. The biscuit was home made and delicious, even though it was a tad bit too brown on top. The grits were very yummy- it's honestly been a hot minute since I had grits this tasty. Both of us finished our breakfast plates fully and I left a happy person with a full belly! Got a hello after 10 minutes from the lady, (the guy in the picture looked at me like what the hell are you doing here you don't belong here, never acknowledged me and as I was leaving just glared at me), , said I'd like to place a an order to to go. 14 minutes later 2 people come and sit next to me, got immediate service, they're now eatening and I'm still waiting for my food!! Better be worth the wait!! Egg sandwich with cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, and white toast or in this case just white soggy bread and a biscuit UPDATE: what a waste of my morning and money, the driest worst biscuits I think I've ever had in my life. I had grilled shrimp, my wife had grilled grouper. Both were excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked. So juicy and flavorful. Mixed vegetable side was well executed as well - peppers, mushrooms and broccolini. The key lime pie was disappointing. It was a good lime pie, nice smooth custard, but no tartness at all. Expectations exceeded! Our server, Brittany, was phenomenal. Super attentive, understanding and just nice. I ordered the steak and eggs with cheesy grits. The steak was so flavorful and cooked super well at a perfect medium rare. The cheesy grits were also really good too! The toast is super fluffy so definitley don't skip out on that. Additionally, we came down here during Thanksgiving week and we weren't tracking our egg intake and used up all of our eggs. I needed 6 for Thanksgiving dinner and everywhere was closed. We called and they were willing to sell us a dozen! I don't know what we would've done if they weren't so nice. Definitely give this place a try! read more
