Our restaurant in Isla Resort was full so we went next door to check out the sunset! Casual dining. Service was good but kitchen and bar gets backed up due to the amount of orders going in. Very busy place for sure. The server Chris kept us informed. The food was ok. Calamari and curry sauce. Sea Bass and Miso Appetizers to start. I had the hogfish dinner which the bartender said was one of their best sellers. The fish tasted funny and the asparagus was way overcooked and limp. Also ordered was the kids fish nuggets. The food was amazing! We only had to wait 45 minutes on a busy night with a big group and, once we were sat, our drinks, appetizers and entrees came out pretty quickly. We drove over the part of the 7 mile bridge one afternoon and decided to stop here for a drink. It's right off the highway, but you do have to take a little side road to get there. The vibe is fun! We sat at the bar and it did take a while for someone to finally realize we were there (common theme in the keys we discovered). We ordered drinks and the bartender was pretty talkative. We learned a little about her past and one of them was a traveling bartender. She had worked at a bar in Alaska and Hawaii, and I can't remember where else. Her boyfriend travels with her - he's a server but also a photographer so moving around is good for him. We finally ordered six raw oysters and it took quite a while for them to come out. We finally asked the bartender who went back and got them. Being from Kansas City, we thought they would just be awesome. However, we were disappointed. Not a lot of flavor (not that they have much in the first place) and full of tiny pieces of shell. Some of the pieces were large enough that we found them before eating the oyster. We started using a fork to remove the oyster from the shell before eating it. Better that way but still a disappointment. But even with that we would recommend it - just don't get the oysters. read more

A must do in the keys! Located right along the main road with a killer view of the 7 mile bridge, this place checks all the boxes. The food is okay, but happy hour during the Sunday funday is the time to come here. The service was a little slow, but the drinks were good! Being able to drink IN THE POOL that is free to use for paying customers is an awesome thing. There were a lot of kids in the pool, but it made for a very family friendly time. The happy hour menu prices were pretty good and comparable to others in the area. We didn't look at the regular menu, as we were just there for the pool and special Sunday menu. Well, IMO, if you're coming down to the keys for the food cuisine, you should probably think about staying home or trying somewhere else. That being said Sunset Grill and raw bar has wonderful views as most of the pictures depict however, service is subpar, and the food is mediocre like the rest of the food around this area. It took us over 20 minutes to get drinks after we were seated and at that $18 for a mixed drink is terrible. My order came out wrong however I chose to eat it. It was good but not what I ordered. That also happened to another person in our party of 4. They have a pool, which is really cool for kids, but I think they are short staffed and not well trained. I'll leave it at that. We came here twice and it did not get any better. It was a little better the first time, but it was on a weekday and we sat by the pool. The view is worth five stars but for ambience, service, and food I'll give it three. read more

We tried this for a late lunch after being at bahia honda state park Beach. We were starving so we ordered the Kona fire poke bowl $32.00 and the hog fish sandwich with mushrooms and onions $19.99. The poke bowl was great she loved it. The hog fish was ok but I don't think I would order it again. The poke bowl is a little over priced for what you get in my opinion. We have had them for about half the price for better quality just saying. This place also has its own swimming pool which if you eat thete I guess you get free access. I visited on Sunday, with three friends, as we were heading back to Miami from the Key West/Lobsterfest. Sitting at the table, I started searching for reviews on the sushi menu but there were none. I did find one really bad review about a server named Darryl. Lo and behold, who steps up and introduces himself as our server. lol I did not say anything to him about the bad review cause I was looking for flaws. I have no idea what happened that prompted the young lady to leave such a bad review cause I was delighted with the service. The food was excellent, Darryl was so gracious and attentive, our drinks were Amazing! We sang along with the music coming from poolside dining. We asked our waiter Emile to see if they could stop that while we were eating as the fumes and noise made it so you could not hear talking at the table he said he would check and walked away then from the server station he was talking to someone else and then looked our way and laughed. They never stopped the landscaping and another patron came over to us and asked if the fumes were bad. We noticed this place on our way back from Key West. It sits on the north end of 7 mile bridge. We had a late lunch of She Crab bisque Crab Cake sandwich and a Mahi BLT with fries. Oh my lord the She Crab bisque was so creamy and full of lg. crab pieces. Better than I make. The Crab Cake sandwich was huge and very flavorful. The Mahi BLT was the best Mahi I've had in years. I spent two weeks in marathon and visited most of the restaurants in the yelp "top" restaurant list in marathon and this place was better than all of them. It's far better than the three-star rating. Due to the three-star rating, I assumed this place would be half empty but it was packed. as the host was telling me the inside was full, a young man jumped up and said "let me show you the patio outside". It was windy but We found a table that was out of the wind and then Emile showed up to wait in us. He was energetic, attentive, and enthusiastic. He took great care of us. It looked like a huge tiki bar with a pool and outdoor seating on the water. We were seated immediately as it was after sunset but still a nice crowd. Our server was pleasant and helpful. We ordered steamed shrimp and oysters. Both came out quickly and were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was amazing and it really felt like we were on vacation. Lovely location- too bad the food doesn't match. We were looking over menu online and thinking about broiled trio. When we got there, there were two separate couples in front of us. We asked about the food and they said to stick to drinks. We were already there so Ordered the cheeseburger. Can't really go wrong with that. Well, yes you can . My friend had the fried hogfish sandwich and that was not good either. I can't really put a finger on it. Hamburger was overcooked and dry (and they did ask how I wanted it - medium). Maybe too much garlic or it was the seasoning on the fries? Cheap meat? I did not finish more than half. Crab rangoons were great.
