Delicious food. Everything was really, really good. The ambiance is quite nice too. They don't take reservations, but we (party of 11) came in around 5 pm on a Sunday during Memorial Day weekend and were seated almost immediately. The huge drinks were really fun too, and you get to keep the cup!

We came into sunset grill with a large party and the restaurant was incredibly accommodating with splitting checks and rearranging tables. We got there within the last hour of happy hour, and were very pleased with their food options. I had the conch chowder which was delicious. I really enjoyed the flavor. Sunset Grille is also an absolutely beautiful location up against the 7 mile bridge.

If you like expensive drinks and crappy food in a beautiful waterfront with a pool, (that YES you can swim in!), this is the place for you. Great sunset view.

Shrimp tacos with rice and black beans. Definitely enough food.

We really enjoyed our meal at Sunset Grille. I had the shrimp tacos that were very good and definitely plenty to fill you up. The tacos came with rice and black beans - which I love. I also got the Titos Cranfusion drink (luckily it didn't come with a souvenir glass. The service was great and it has an amazing view. I will definitely go back next time I am in town.

My view of the sunset from the patio!

The food was amazing! We only had to wait 45 minutes on a busy night with a big group and, once we were sat, our drinks, appetizers and entrees came out pretty quickly. Definitely try their cheese dip! Also got a beautiful picture of the sunset. Would totally recommend, especially for tourists!

Don't order the Cast Away Coconut.... Total rip off..... no booze and it's a ton of money for nothing....... Gimmicky Also!! The Grouper sandwich can either coleslaw OR fries.... Really..... fries cost 0.25 it lacked filling... needed both for that price.... Come on.

Food is awful, service is slow, ambiance is all they have unfortunately, it could be an amazing restaurant!

    $5 up-charge to sit here.

Friendly bat tenders and beautiful view... that you have to pay $5 for if you want to see it. The drinks overly rely on commercial mixers. Does anyone care to make a correct drink anymore?

A must do in the keys! Located right along the main road with a killer view of the 7 mile bridge, this place checks all the boxes. The food is okay, but happy hour during the Sunday funday is the time to come here. The service was a little slow, but the drinks were good! Being able to drink IN THE POOL that is free to use for paying customers is an awesome thing. There were a lot of kids in the pool, but it made for a very family friendly time. The happy hour menu prices were pretty good and comparable to others in the area. We didn't look at the regular menu, as we were just there for the pool and special Sunday menu. We will be back next trip!

Daughters 19th Birthday Sunday night December 28th 2025 - went to Sunset Grille and they treated us well and put our table of 3 with me and my son and daughter on outside table near the pool and right off of the ocean. Had Daneisa as our waitress and she was super great originally from Jamaica and we had 2 fabulous Lobster Dinners, a Broiled Scallop, Shrimp and Crab Trio, and Cheesesteak Egg-roll appetizers. Great service, great food, great vibe and beautiful view for the Sundown !!!

Checked in with just 30 minutes to spare to make it to happy hour. Conch fritters, cheeseburger sliders, and that pineapple bourbon....yes, please. Fritters were a little different this time but still good. Sliders were pretty good with the crispy onion straws, and the drink had me rethinking my check-out time. The bartender was as friendly as ever, and the ambiance? Perfect, as always. Sunset Grille never misses.

We tried this for a late lunch after being at bahia honda state park Beach. We were starving so we ordered the Kona fire poke bowl $32.00 and the hog fish sandwich with mushrooms and onions $19.99. The poke bowl was great she loved it. The hog fish was ok but I don't think I would order it again. The poke bowl is a little over priced for what you get in my opinion. We have had them for about half the price for better quality just saying. This place also has its own swimming pool which if you eat thete I guess you get free access. We wanted to shower up so we left. Food came out quickly, and place seemed clean. Hostess sat us quickly.

I visited on Sunday, with three friends, as we were heading back to Miami from the Key West/Lobsterfest. Sitting at the table, I started searching for reviews on the sushi menu but there were none. I did find one really bad review about a server named Darryl. Lo and behold, who steps up and introduces himself as our server. lol I did not say anything to him about the bad review cause I was looking for flaws. I have no idea what happened that prompted the young lady to leave such a bad review cause I was delighted with the service. The food was excellent, Darryl was so gracious and attentive, our drinks were Amazing! We sang along with the music coming from poolside dining. I would highly recommend Sunset Bar & Grill at the end of the 7 Mile Bridge, going North. Be sure and ask for Darryl! You won't be disappointed!

Where we were staying, we met these lovely ladies out at the pool, and we got to talking quite a bit. They had mentioned this place and a deep fried key lime... so... it definitely piqued our interest and off we went. When we first arrived, I wasn't sure if we were going to the right place. It felt like it was off the beaten path, but we did eventually find our way to the parking lot. We walked upstairs to the terrace and took a look around at the view. It was just before sunset, and we watched a boat or two swing by and tie up on the dock below for some chow. That's pretty cool. The menu style is somewhat American traditional, where you would find a variety of burgers, fries, sandwiches, and some dinner plates. They served several types of meats from beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, you name it. We decided to go pub style and ordered the Fresh Cut Fries plate, with a Chicken Burger. We also ordered a Patty Melt Sandwich. The chicken burger had the perfect crunch, and it just hit right. The patty melt smothered in onion and sauce made it very tender and juicy. My wife and I split each other's meals to taste it all. As we enjoyed a couple of drinks, we were able to take advantage of the sunset and walked the dock for some pictures, although, I was staring at a beautiful view across from me all evening. We finished off the meal with one of their famous Deep fried Key Lime Pie... and I swear... that might have been the 2nd or 3rd most beautiful thing I've seen that evening. If you never had a KLP deep fried... oh my Goodness you are in for a treat!! We decided to split one, and it's every bit as good as you would think it to be!! Thank you for that experience, and for the whole evening. We are leaving FL with amazing memories! Absolutely recommend you try this place and for us, an easy return should we ever find ourselves back on the Keys again. As always, Enjoy & Happy Eating!

It's legitimately one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the Florida Keys, which gives it a lot of built-in credibility before you even sit down. Walking up to it, you feel that history. The exterior, the gravel lot, the signage--it's pure roadside Keys. Inside, it leans into that "local bar meets tourist stop" vibe: long wooden bar, TVs, stickers everywhere, taps lined up. Then you open the menu and it pivots in every direction--New England chowder house, BBQ joint, burger shack, seafood spot. It's not clear what it wants to be, and that lack of focus carries straight through to the food. We started with both chowders. The clam chowder looks right at first glance, but the texture tells you everything--thick, almost gluey, clearly roux-heavy. The flavor leans aggressively fatty, closer to margarine than butter, with very little clam presence. No briny backbone, no pepper, no lift. We ended up dumping in black pepper and hot sauce just to make it remotely acceptable--but even then, that heavy fat note kept pushing through. Nothing about it reads as New England. The conch chowder fares a bit better. You can actually see a decent amount of conch, and there's a peppery edge that helps. But the broth is thin and lacks the chunky, stewed tomato depth you expect from a proper Keys-style conch chowder. After having it done right earlier at Key Largo Fisheries, the difference was obvious. Then there are the Texas Twinkies--and the photo really says it all. On paper, this should work: jalapeños wrapped in bacon, stuffed with brisket, pulled pork, cheeses, and sauce. In execution, it's just too much. Too much cream cheese, too many competing sauces, meats chopped into a soft, indistinct filling. It collapses into a heavy, muddy bite that feels more overwhelming than satisfying. Looking back at the menu, the simpler move--burger, ribs, even wings--probably would have been the right call. Instead, we ordered straight into the identity crisis. And that theory held up. We went back and grabbed a burger later--cooked a proper medium rare, with well-done, crispy fries--and it was easily the best thing we had from them. I wanted to like Herbie's. There's history, personality, and clearly a loyal following. But between the confused concept and uneven execution, the move here is simple: stick to the basics.

Jorge, our waiter was welcoming, friendly, and patient - impressive given the size of our party. We did make a reservation in advance due to having a larger group. Our table was ready when we arrived. While snacking on the complimentary baguettes, we ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees from the happy hour and regular menus. They have numerous menu options sure to satisfy any group. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. We recommend this restaurant to others!

This is not a typical spot I would have thought about as its exterior looks a little touristy and that's not our thing but based on the recommendations, we gave it a try for lunch and were not disappointed at all. I am a vegetarian but my hubby and Dad love meat and fresh seafood. They had a menu that accommodated us all. I had the tofu spicy rice bowl which was delicious and huge. I took more than half back to our rental house for others to try. My hubby had the bacon cheeseburger with fries and really enjoyed his burger but the fries were not good. It tasted as if the oil was old. My Dad had the blackened mahi sandwich which was a very generous portion and he loved it. He also had the sweet potato waffle fries and enjoyed those. I had several adult drinks and my Dad had a few beers. Our server Matice was very nice. My only complaint would be he brought my starter salad with my entree so that didn't work for me. All in all a very good lunch experience for us.
