Everything was delicious. I had the grass fed pub burger that hit the spot and these fries that had a certain swirl cut to them. I am a thin fries girl, but these were delicious . to drink I had the sparkling water infused with passion, fruit syrup, very refreshing for a hot day. The star plate was the pistachio cake which was a 10 out of 10. It had an outer custard and inside there was this pistachio cake that was very moist. On the side was jam and a wafer cookie as decoration. I would come back just for this dessert. The most I had is pistachio ice cream, but this pistachio cake was unreal. Not too sweet just right. it was a chef special that I hope it's part of the menu. I enjoy the variety of music and I like the low light ambience. read more

Barrel and Bushel is located inside the Hyatt Regency Phoenix. Going back to our hotel room following the Elton John concert, we decided to have a few drinks to cap the evening. The concert location was within a five-minute walking distance, and Elton played at the same location the night before. I write this because when we arrived, and there were about 100 people wanting to eat and drink, it seemed like the staff wanted to close down. There were only two bartenders, and the line was long as was the wait. We were watching couple after couple get discouraged and leave. Because of the decision to have a small staff, they likely lost thousands of dollars. I used to tend bar through my undergrad days at dinner clubs and have a doctorate in business, and it drives me crazy to observe poor business decisions let alone be a part of one. But when in Rome... Barrel & Bushel could be described as intimate and cozy with a debonaire atmosphere. We ordered a special fall drink (I apologize for forgetting the name), the Espresso-Tini, and the B&B Old Fashion. While there certainly was room for improvement, I am glad that we waited as the drinks were memorable and very enjoyable. We will likely give Barrel and Bushel another opportunity when in Phoenix and try their food. read more

Located inside the Hyatt Hotel, this restaurant/bar was convenient for food, drinks, or hanging out and enjoying the environment. I stayed at the Hyatt for a few nights, and it was great to eat and drink there. The vibe is excellent, and the staff always has a great attitude. The ambiance was great because you can sit indoors or on the patio. I recommend the food and drinks. First of all the food you must have is the street corn I get this nightly and its just good for the soul the way they make it - its also a great portion and can actually serve as a meal in itself. I recommend this and the mega pretzel to enjoy together. Because why not! The customer service is incredible and fun here too - such a magic crew! Avel was so warm and fun and welcoming and knew my Canvas wine order and pour amount as soon as I sit down. Thats cool! You make me feel like a local and I really appreciate that a lot! Josh was incredible has stellar style with the most cool golden 1970s styled frames. Tyler gave me so many recs during my time here in Phoenix and I promise to do them all. If you have a disability that requires service dog assistance, this is not the restaurant for you. After being seated in the restaurant our party was told that we had to be moved outside because of the attendance of my service dog. We were told that the chief doesn't allow dogs in his restaurant, not even "well behaved service dogs". Upon agreeing to move outside, our party was treated extremely discriminatory. Asked to split up onto tables far from each other, and placed back in the original que for wait services. In the 105+ temps our waters were not refilled, nor other drink orders even taken. One of our meals was never even brought to the table. We had been tossed aside like trash. The staff of this restaurant are quick to disregard those with disabilities, and have no issues in making you feel unwelcome. read more

Cute little bar inside the Hyatt Downtown. My sister was in town visiting and she stayed at the Hyatt so we decided to try this spot out. They have a great selection of local craft beers, the juicy jack hazy IPA and first love was delicious! We decided to share plates since we weren't super hungry. We order the sweet potato fries which was perfect in every way and we ordered the Arizona Cobb salad. The dressing on the salad was so tarty that it wasn't edible but they were nice enough to switch it out to a different salad. read more

Stayed here for a conference and ate at the hotel restaurant several times for convenience. The bar has a nice vibe and good inside and outside seating. Friendly wait staff and good on service and recommendations. Nice beer selection as well. Drinks are ok. Nothing special but not bad either. Only thing I ordered was a turkey club which is quite tasty if not a little messy. Just keep in mind it'll be pricy - it is a hotel bar after all. Having a fairly crazy schedule during my time in Phoenix I was glad this restaurant was an option in our hotel. There was ample indoor and patio seating (that was seat yourself). The servers were attentive (almost too attentive at times). The menu isn't extensive, but everything sounded delicious. Basically sides, salads and sandwiches. I tried the grilled Kim cheese which was a unique take on a traditional grilled cheese. The bread was crisp and the cheese and filling perfect. You are able to choose your own sides and went with sweet potato fries because I hadn't had them in ages. Others in my party had the fish tacos and burger and they were equally as happy with their choices. The venue is cashless, so be prepared for that. Overall, a tasty and convenient option for a nice dinner or snack. read more

What use to be Networks, is now Barrel & Bushel. It's totally transformed into a new hip gastropub which offers almost the same type of foods. You got your chicken wings, Cobb salad, signature burger, fish tacos, with a full bar. There's indoor and an outdoor patio if you don't mind enduring the dessert heat during hot summer months or cold evenings in the winter. Hours of operation are now 4pm-11pm which Networks use to be open from breakfast until midnight if I'm not mistaken. Visually, the restaurant is a lot more eye appealing with a contemporary style. read more

I was a little concerned about this place from the reviews, but we were staying at the Hyatt and needed food so we decided to go here. I also had a drink, something with vodka, blueberry and basil. It was yummy, just drank it very fast so didn't snap a picture of it. I ordered the grilled kimcheese with brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were okay, the individual leafs were hard to eat but the pieces with the full sprout were very good. The grilled cheese was also really yummy. The kimchi was delicious and the cheese combo was great. The bread also was crunchy and good. It was a little bit on the expensive side (17$ for a grilled cheese) so I give it a 4 but it had great flavors. read more

On a night out to the Herberger, it was decided to try out nearby Barrel & Bushel would be a good stop for a unpretentious meal and refreshment prior to a show - boy, it was the right choice for our casual mood. This airy, contemporary and upscale relaxed location Downtown offers an expansive area for dining and seating. Laid out in a modern hotel-style open-dining design, with a post-modern flair, almost cafeteria-modern you might say and metal-monochromatic. It does give you ample seating selection, albeit seating was not as comfortable as one would expect from the likes of Hyatt. Barrel & Bushel offer a decent selection of modern, fast and simple and yet more sophisticated than usual eating options, nothing ultra fancy, yet to a certain extent considerably different that the run-of-the-mill hotel resto. Oh, by the way, the food, pretty good selections that include the likes of Aguachile, Carnitas Nachos to Roasted Garlic Hummus, Caprese Cavatappi to Beer Shrimp. Barrel & Bushel is a great spot to grab a meal in downtown Phoenix. It was a busy Saturday in the area since there was a baseball game, but they were able to accommodate our party of six. They are located just off of the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. The restaurant had a hip vibe with a fun menu. It wasn't a generic hotel lobby restaurant. The service was excellent from the bartender. He welcomed us in and was attentive during our meal. It didn't take long to get drinks and food. Our group enjoyed the cocktails we ordered, including the Basil Berry Smash and the Blueberry Collins. Everyone was happy with their food which included Pretzel Bites, the Arizona Cobb, Fish Tacos, and The Pub Burger. A side of mac and cheese was a hit with my toddler. I'd comment about the Philly but my husband inhaled it before I could get a try. The only downfall is we couldn't sit outside on their beautiful patio. One of my favorite places for before/after concerts, during conventions, sports games, etc. I've had Amber as a server multiple times and she's very friendly, great recommendations & efficient. they have a pretty great menu and the chicken is great on the citrus salad! Welcome to the neighborhood! Tonight's experience was a solid 3.5 star experience. Given that they'd officially been open for 2 nights however, I'm willing to be more understanding and round up. We'll be coming back again and I'm looking forward to updating Yelp on their improvements. Summary. What did I like? Their food/drink menu, decor, and friendliness of service. What did I not like? Waiting to be noticed at the front (?) door by a host, the extremely cluttered table, and how slow the service was. With available tables, having to wait for over 10 minutes to get seated and get menus was especially annoying when we found out that a) there was a happy hour and b) we'd missed it by 3 minutes. Barrel & Bushel has a TON of potential, and I'm excited that it's a part of the downtown core. The details. What I liked: Menu: Food - Barrel & Bushel has a great menu with light to heartier options and unique twists on classics. We ordered the poutine and it proved to be potato wedge-type spirals with a chorizo gravy, Mexican cheese, and bacon bits. A tweak to make: make the gravy a little richer and the cheese meltier. I get that this isn't the poutine of my homeland, but those tweaks would make it more a memorable dish. Drinks - They have a solid selection of house cocktails that I'm looking forward to trying. My husband got the Paloma, and I ordered the Dilemma. I ended up getting the ancho chile tequila drink. Not what I'd wanted, but a solid cocktail. This is definitely a beer over wine place though: the beer selections (and prices) were better than the wine options. The decor: Modern and bright in certain areas, and dark and classy in others. There's a great patio and lots of seating both inside and out. Which was good, because they ended up getting completely swarmed by the convention folk. Service: Christy was great. She'd apologized for the mix-up with the drink and ended up comping my cocktail. Service was a little slow, but understandable given the massive hordes of people who'd arrived. Everybody was friendly however, and we left willing to give this place another try. What I didn't like: Does Barrel & Bushel know that their entrance with the big black metal door is frequented by guests? There's a sign saying a host will be right with you, but that was a lie. We ended up waiting for a couple of minutes before one of the waiters flagged down a host who had been at the other end of the restaurant. The Table: Our small table for two was occupied by a paper towel dispenser and a very large utensil/condiment console. This took up a solid 40-50% of the table. I felt very cramped. I was happy with our decision to stick with just one started to share. More dishes would not have fit. Slow service/Happy Hour: First, what kind of HH ends at 5:30? That's barely enough time for me to walk there after I get off work. Second, and related to the above door/host confusion, we'd actually arrived at the restaurant before HH ended but because of the slow service, we were unable to place a HH order. Not the end of the world, but it an annoyance that could easily have been fixed. None of the issues with Barrel & Bushel are detrimental to their success. A few tweaks to their operation could however lead to a very successful DT Phoenix restaurant. We will be back. read more

Its refreshing to have a hotel based resteraunt so welcoming to a local out of yoga class in her work out clothes. A wisky bourbon forward bar a little jazz and cigar would top it off. The restaurant is beautiful. I ordered the Caprese Chicken Burger with bruseel sprouts, the burger was really good. I have to say I didn't have the best waitress. I asked for straw and I had to get up to ask someone else for one. There was a lot of socializing between the staff. My burger was good, but my pretzel bun was a little wet. read more
