This is my favorite restaurant. While the menu is a little small, everything we have had here is great. Excellent southern style food selection and excellent selection of draft beers or cocktails. We have loved everything we have tried off the menu. Only complaints would be that they removed the prime rib sliders from the menu (which were amazing) and the cocktails are made a little stiff from some people's liking. The location in the Tyson's mall can be a pain for parking during busy times, but during the warmer months, the outdoor patio is great. We also ate here during the Christmas time when the ice rink was open which made for a nice atmosphere during the holidays. read more

Went on a busy Friday night and mostly enjoyed the experience. I agree with the one review and would give it the 3.5 if I could. We had the chicken and waffles, mac & cheese, and the B&B salad. The salad had little to no flavor and needed more dressing. The Mac and cheese was good, and the chicken and waffles were the best - a nice mix of sweet, savory and spices. The waiter was ok, not much personality but no major issues. The hostess was great. On our way out, we decided to get a growler as a gift and she was more than helpful and friendly. We went on a Sunday night, party of 4, first time visit. The place was not crowded at all, and we were immediately seated at a communal table -- without being asked if that was OK. As it happened, nobody joined us, but we were at the end of the table directly next to the swinging kitchen doors. Worst seat in the house! This was unnecessary, and really colored our experience. Never seat diners next to the kitchen doors if there are other choices! Service was adequate. Server took the men's beer orders without asking the 2 women if they wanted a drink! Table location had us right where the servers congregate to chat. No one bothered to check back to ask us how our meal was. The menu was good, with something for everyone. Portions are quite large, so be careful when ordering! Beef up the servers' charm and attention, and this place could be great. read more

Just found this place while at a conference in the Hyatt. We went two days in a row. Beer selection is great. Bartenders were friendly quick and responsive. Food selection is good. And they fill crowlers and growlers for take away. Love it. Will be coming back regularly. read more

Excellent food and impeccable service! Rib Eye was perfectly cooked and supreme Artichokes melted in your mouth Brussels Sprouts - I can' say enough that would justify the incredible taste of these Sprouts. I have lived in Brussels for 22 years and to date have never had them prepared as they were by the Chef at Barrel & Bushel. Isaac my server has an excellent pallet for beer and again I live in the Beer Capitol of the World with over 1000 different beers. Isaac's suggestions were Belgian worthy! I have been here twice, once for dinner and once for brunch. Absolutely loved the place! The service, food and drinks were great. My favorite dish is probably the crab and cheddar soup (can't remember exact name). I also love the fried chicken sandwich. This is quickly becoming my go to place when I'm at Tyson's. read more

I don't like writing reviews, I usually just take whatever service they give me and move on with life, but we had stayed at the Hyatt for the weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday and had breakfast at Barrel & Bushel. I was disappointed with the service, when we first walked up the host gave us information about where to sit in order to have breakfast, he explained we had to sit in the 'self sitting' area before the 11am cut off time. He wasn't 'rude' but the way he was addressing us left a bad taste in my mouth, this tone and attitude, seemed more like he didn't want to be there, came off a little annoyed. Of course my husband and I misunderstood and sat in the wrong place, which he was kind enough to correct us, but still w that attitude of having to deal with us. I thought, great, what have we done to deserve this, let's just have breakfast and move on. The bartender served us and he took our order, he was not rude but again I got this feeling these folks don't even want to work here, or do this job, it's just another paycheck and are hoping the day is over soon. We got over it soon but if a restaurant wants to be this swanky, the service experience should match. I don't like that uncomfortable feeling and awkwardness because it makes me feel like I did something wrong when all I'm trying to do is eat. I get better service with a very positive attitude at a cheaper place like Chick-fil-a than this place. We were planning on coming back to dinner but forget it. read more

Went here with a group of 15, our beers were delivered quickly (and I really enjoyed their beer selection!), our food came out pretty quick, and they handled separate checks very easily. Had a horrible experience here last week. The service was poor -- our water glasses came after 10 minutes then the server immediately left, and took drink orders 20 minutes later. Said server never acknowledged any cordial requests I had and refills would randomly come 10 minutes later from another server at another table. The food was fairly mediocre, especially for the price -- the chicken tastes better at most fast food places and the burger was very plain outside of a molasses sauce. After the meal was finished, the check was split wrong despite the fact that we wrote exact amounts while providing our credit cards that equaled up to the total -- the server arbitrarily decided who should pay what on the check, causing all sorts of confusion. It took 30 minutes for the manager to come over and apologize. It's not worth the stress again. read more

I have ordered food for to go, while I waited the bar, the old man with grey hair which is the bartender gave me two beer which was IPA, I did not ask for that, I have asked for light refreshing beers what on the menus. However the bartender does not follow what I order on the menus. He should really learn how to tend drinks to customers especially ordering the right drinks. I asked why the drink is strong, he replied "Because it is that good!" I was shocked to see he doesn't care what my respond or concern about the drinks. The host who took order was excellent service and did a great job but with much disappointment with the bartender. By the time I asked for the check and look up the beer and alcohol content, which is almost 6% and I asked for 5.2%, however, it would been 5 star but sadly not, all 4 star was smashed up because of the bartender's lack knowledge of drinks on the menus. This is 2nd visit and I will be back for more this summer, the review is always be based on how they treat us at upscale restaurant such at Barrel Bushel, every little detail count. We've been to B&B many times and the service has always been mediocre. Tonight was especially bad! I rarely write a review but tonight's service warrants a posting. It took the server 10 minutes after we sat down to greet us and take our order. During that time, the manager walked by our table twice, looked at us, and didn't say anything. I decided to ask the manager who will be helping us tonight, noting that we've been sitting there for 10 minutes. No apologies or acknowledgement, he said "I'll check". When the server finally greeted us, we decided to order everything: drinks, apps and our entrée. My son's burger was cooked incorrectly, we ordered hamburger not a cheeseburger because of a dairy allergy. They remade the burger. It took another 10 minutes. When the manager brought the new burger out, no apologies or anything - of course the same manager. My entrée came out first, then my sides came out 5 minutes later, again they all acted like this is the norm. The server didn't come by and ask about refills or anything. I could have had two more beers - thought alcohol generated the largest margin for the restaurant, I guess B&B doesn't care about revenue or customer service. I understand it was busy, as most restaurants are in Tyson's on the weekend. But you would think the manager should pitch in and help, as opposed to leaning against the wall and provided no value. I tracked down another manager and she seemed genuinely concerned and appreciated my feedback, she was also apologetic. They just lost a recurring customer, both personal and corporate. read more

So, 1/2 star for service, I agree w/other Yelpers; my husband and I decided to check this place out because we are staying at the attached Hotel and the restaurant had an advertisement for happy hour from 2-7. There were 4-6 other people at the bar; we waited for about 20 minutes at the bar and were never acknowledged by either of the 2 bartenders. The place was empty; so there really wasn't a reasonable explanation for the delay. We finally asked one of the bartenders what his happy hour menu consisted of, and he begrudgingly answered, "it's the full menu." And walked away.. Hmm.. So everything on the menu is on happy hour?? I doubt that. My hubby was like, "so what are the specials." His reluctant reply,"$2 off pints." and continues to walk away... Okay.. The happy hour sign lists features of the bar, such as martinis, etc. but don't assume these are included. You will get $2 off pints with a side of the unfriendliest bar welcome you've ever experienced and we live in NYC! read more

I really want to like this place. Our second outing here and both times the wait times were horrendous. came for Mother's Day breakfast with reservations at 9:45 AM. The place was pretty much empty. We placed our order within 15 mins. Took over an hour to get our food. I always give the servers a little slack since I dont know how many tables they handle. Dont need complimentary food but a simple apology or acknowledgement would have been nice. The place is only two weeks old so hopefully just growing pains. Lot of issues on the day we were there and in the end the manager comped some of the food for our neighboring table, who came after us and got there foid sooner. I spoke to the manager and really gave no excuses other than it was busy...again we came early with minimal crowd. No peace offering which at least would have showed a little sincerity. Food was very average and seemed rushed. We frequent Tysons for dinner...will likely not return here. read more

I was torn between two and three stars but went for two based on the quality of the food and the service. I got a regular cheeseburger and granted it was right before the kitchen closed at ten but the burger just looked liked a fast food burger when it arrived. The bun was soggy and was sitting on a bed of grease...not ideal. The fries are skinny but with an overly spicy flavor that made it easy to leave half the order. The server was nice enough to get my order in before the kitchen closed but it would have been ten minutes earlier if they had acknowledged my presence, I will chalk that up to the crowd of a Wednesday night. Granted, beer refills did take some time. On the plus side, the beer is tasty but how hard is it to make beer taste good...not hard :). And the overall ambience is great!! Love the outdoor areas. Recommend for beer and hanging out...hopefully the food and service will improve with time. read more

Visited B&B on a Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. The place wasn't crowded and the bar part of the restaurant was undergoing renovation. The server apologized for the apperance of the place and told us the work would be done in two weeks. She then proceeded to tell us it was still happy hour and recommended some small plates to try. She definitely steered us in the right direction. The pork belly sliders were good, thanks to the long cooking time. The tater tots covered in a cheese sauce and jalapenos were also good. The main courses were medicore, though. My husband had the grass-fed burger, which comes with chips as a side. The burger, itself, was fine, but they layered far too much onion jam on top. In fact, there was so much that I thought that the burger was made with two patties. I had the grilled chicken and faro bowl. The chicken was good, but the faro was underseasoned, including salt. The artichoke hearts were good, too, but there were too many cooked cherry tomatoes, which made the dish acidic and not in a good way. Our generous and friendly server was by far the best part of our experience. read more

I really like the atmosphere here! The patio is great for happy hour and they have open-air dining options as well. That said, the food is just okay. The first time I ate here I got a salad which was nothing special, and the second time, we just ordered appetizers. One thing I noticed is that they put a lot of Old Bay seasoning in everything the make, which is either hit or miss depending on your taste preferences! read more

I recently met friends here for dinner, when booking the reservation I looked up reviews/happy hour specials ect as we would be eating at 5:30, I was excited to try the anniversary "happy hour" $1 specials that I saw advertised (date supposedly ending April 23rd and we were going on the 22nd). We arrived and the server greeted us and told us about the specials, we promptly ordered 3 of the "1$" special appetizers and a few drinks. The server returned a few minutes later to tell us the specials had ended the day before ( when the Tysons Corner Mall Website advertised there were two more days left) and said he "already placed one order one of the regular priced items, but did we still want the other appetizers?". Of course not, I pulled up the website up on my phone and made sure I was right about the dates ( I was) but I decided it wasn't worth fighting with the server, he wasn't very friendly so I didn't think it would go over well. All in all the food arrived and it was pretty good and we had a good time, I was just disappointed by the false advertising, there are TONS of places with great happy hour specials that we would have picked instead of this place. read more

I'm split. On one hand, I want to LOVE this restaurant. On the other, I want to RUN AWAY as quickly as possible. Like Tiffany B. expressed in her recent review, I was appalled the service. Not to the point where I got up and left, but it was still pretty pathetic. Quite frankly, this was amongst the worst service I ever encountered in a US restaurant...and I dine out a lot! The highlights: I had a few hours to kill since my flight got delayed before I left for Dulles, so I asked the hostess if I could be seated outside to enjoy the abnormally warm April day. "Outside is self-seating," she says. "Behind the bar is self-serve, so you have to place your order at the bar, but the rest of it is full table service." I opted for the latter and had a seat at one of their high-tops. 4-6 servers must have walked past me 20-30 times before anyone even noticed me. Twice, I tried to flag someone down with an "Excuse me, sir," and they just continued walking toward the kitchen or a table without so much as tilting their head. A woman in a black dress, who appeared to be a manager, was amongst them. Eventually, I caught a young waitress' attention and asked for a menu. She came over, apologized for the delay, and got my drink. She failed, however, to provide me with silverware. After my food arrived, she asked "Need anything?" "Uh, silverware would be great," I commented. "Oh, you got it!" Really? She couldn't see that for herself? Also, when I was placing my order, she seemed to lose focus near the end of it which resulted in the wrong dish being brought out for dessert. She apologized and fixed it, but only after saying "I mustn't have heard you" as though I was somehow complicit in the mistake. Finally, throughout my meal, servers would interrupt me to say "did you get the [Insert dish here]?" Amongst these offerings were a tomato soup and a quite appealing burger that I contemplated accepting despite failing to order. Seriously, though, this is 2017. And at a brand new Hyatt, no less. Surely they have a POS system that uses table numbers to avoid this unnecessary and unprofessional recurrence. Many Hyatt hotels allow you to earn points and miles as a "World of Hyatt" member at restaurants and spas without being a guest; this property, sadly, does not. To the points and miles junkies out there (like myself), this was a disappointment. So, what's to love? The food was incredibly good. The "72 Hour Pork Belly" is amongst the best renditions I've seen of this fatty delicacy, rivaling Daniel Boulud's spicy interpretation at DB Bistro Moderne Miami. The spiced nuts and salted caramel peanut butter fudge were also quite delicious. The atmosphere was lovely; the glass walls retract, allowing the restaurant to become an open-air extension of the metro promenade during the summer. I can see how this might result in an uncomfortably humid dining experience during the peak summer months, but it was lovely on this comfortable April day. The interior design promotes the "farm to table" concept by relying heavily on reclaimed wood, saddle-colored leather, glass masonry jars, and industrial hardware to express the brand. Perhaps that's why the lime green plastic dining chairs outside felt remarkably out-of-place. All in all, I really loved the food, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. But the service leaves MUCH to be desired. If they can fix that, they'll have a winner. If not, Hyatt would do well to start looking for other operators now. read more

Was looking for something different for date night tonight, and had heard great things from friends about this spot! Had trouble getting there, but I always have trouble navigating Tysons. When we arrived about 7pm on a Friday night, the place was packed! We were quickly seated. Server Josh went through the wine list with us, and gave us time to look everything over. After returning with our drinks he took our order. We decided not to order entrees and instead go the route of starters! We ordered the Fritos pie, deviled eggs, shocked sliders and poutine. After the first bite I couldn't help but do my happy dance which is done only in the presence of a truly great meal! The manager Jess saw this from across the restaurant and approached us. Jess seems amazingly passionate about food, drink, and life! She talked about each dish and convinced us to order the 72 hour pork belly... and it was the most amazing pork belly we have ever had! Bread pudding Togo. All the time josh had us taken care of throughout the evening with never being intrusive. Place was a little loud, but lively... not just loud. The restaurant has a nice look and feel, however the wait staff was inattentive and got my order wrong. I ordered directly off the menu (no substitutions or changes) and a completely different meal was brought to me. I was with a group, so I told them to go on and eat. The wait staff literally said no word about my order when I informed them it was incorrect. They took it to the back and I was just waiting. My group finished the meal and I still had nothing in front of me. I asked for my meal to be canceled and we paid. As I spoke to the manager about my experience, my meal was brought to me in a to-go bag. I declined the doggy bag and left the restaurant. Really cool place. We went there for the first time yesterday. It's cool in the summer b/c they open up the whole place--kind of like opening garage doors--for this half indoor/half outdoor vibe. Great beer selection, however, I was surprised there weren't all that many wines to choose from. Food was also pretty good, but fairly expensive for the amount you get.
