Consider ordering some boom boom sauce on the side of whatever you get, as its great for dipping virtually anything in. We frequent the Molina location but went to this one today. Wish we hadn't. First, wearing leggings to work is not appropriate. They dress properly at the other location. The food is consistently pretty good. There's nice outdoor seating and a nice selection of beer. A variety of moderately overpriced cocktails. I've been there quite a few times, but I've been unhappy with the cleanliness during my last several visits. though... Our last waitress took about four smoke breaks during our time there (we really weren't there all that long!) and each time she came back she reeked of smoke. Tables sat next to us dirty and unbussed for the duration of our time there. Really kind of gross staring at dirty tables, and even worse when the waitress drops her dirty towel there and leaves it there too. We came on a Saturday evening to do drinks and supper. The place had a waiting list for a table so we sat at the bar instead. They have huge tv's above the bar and tv's throughout on the walls as well, perfect for watching the games. We asked for a Cubs game to be put on and the bar tender did change the tv, even though a few patrons complained lol. We frequent the downtown Davenport Barrel House often, but tonight was the first time at this location! First off, our waitress was a rockstar. We had a rowdy party of 14 and she handled it with ease. The food came out quickly and was delicious! I tried the surf & turf burger, and the shrimp on it was so good! Had dinner with my family here on Nov 3rd. The food was very good with everyone finding something they enjoyed. We started with a couple orders of the pretzels which everyone enjoyed. We will be back on our next trip to the Quad Cities. Our server, Donnie, needed his own call out. He went over and beyond the typical service you receive today. I came here for the first time last week after hearing my aunt talk so highly of it for a month or so. The food was SO good and there's so many items to choose from. We visited on a Friday night around 5:30 and almost all the tables were occupied but the service was so speedy there was no wait. This is a pretty chill bar and grill open late and has half price apps from 9pm-midnight on weekdays. Each day the have different deals like mondays: $3 off Mexican entrees, Tuesday's: $3 off burgers. Have TVs hung up along the walls for any sports you may want to watch. I've had my three and five year old boys out to dinner dozens of times in the Quad Cities. Never have I had a server be so engaging with the two boys as we experienced tonight. Erik was so kind and treated the boys like they were the most important thing there (which they were of course ). The boys very much enjoyed the attention and it definitely made the meal that much more enjoyable. Barrel House always has great food, but the service makes this one of the best family friendly restaurants around. I've had several appetizers - Portobello Mushroom Fries - MY FAVORITE Southwest Egg Rolls - very nice Spinach Artichoke dip - nice that it comes with two different types of bread I've tried others, too, but these are my favorites!!! Stopped in at 6pm on a Tuesday evening and sat at the bar. We were immediately greeted and offered drinks and menus. The bartender explained the specials for the day and took our drink order. After bringing our drinks she followed up to let us know our food was on its way. I ordered the California burger and fries which was well prepared and a value at $4.95 since it was $3 off burger night. My wife ordered the surf city tacos which were also delicious and of ample portion. Special thanks to Angie who was not our bartender/server but checked on us several times getting us extra napkins and a box for what we took home. As a business owner myself, I certainly appreciate her team effort attitude. She is definitely an asset to Barrel House. Save your money. Go across the street to granite. Burger was not very good. If you do go, be ready to pay for your condiments. Charged me .75 for a small side of ranch dressing and another .75 for a small side of bbq sauce (which was supposed to come on the sandwich). The food was decent -prepared well and good tasting. I had the Barrel House burger with potato chips supposedly made in the kitchen, but so much is available that is flash frozen in a factory and presented as "fresh" because it's heated in the kitchen. One would think that with a name like Barrel House, there would be plenty of beer taps, but the selection of draught beer was curiously slim. The real killer was the noisy acoustics of the space. It was difficult to have a conversation with my friends. The outside patio is right against Utica Ridge Road's six lanes of traffic which I don't find pleasant either. With so many other better choices, I probably won't end up there again on my own initiative. read more

Sat there for several hours at the bar, was served 2 beers but there wasn't an actually bartender behind the bar; just waitresses making there own drinks for their tables. I actually came in for lunch but was NEVER ASKED IF I WANTED TO ORDER FOOD!! I had several gentlemen (who are regulars) come in and sit next to me and after almost 15 minutes of no service at the bar they got up to leave, it wasn't until then that one of the waitresses said she'd help them. They seem under staffed and that MOD didn't seem inclined to help at all. A client took me here for lunch, Being new to the place there were a lot of choices I wanted to try. My client and the waitress both suggested the fish and chips. The food came quickly and it was one of the best deep fried fish dinners I have had in a long time. The batter was more like tempura not too heavy and the fish was in strips and was very fresh. A couple weekends ago my fiance and I decided to come here for dinner since everyone at my job brags about how awesome they are. Well , customer service is definitely an issue. We went inside and stood there for 10 minutes. Servers passed us and didn't say a thing, " I'll be with you in a moment", "can I get your name", nothing. Just looked at and passed by. For a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon we were able to self-seat with ease. Roughly half of the tables had guests. The server was quick and offered a wide variety of beverage options, though it was funny there was no "on-tap" section on the beer menu. The server took our order quickly, but our lunches took 20+ minutes to arrive from the kitchen. Fish and chips, and a Steak Burrito. The French fries (chips) were regrettably the tastiest item on either plate. The rice was too salty to be edible (and I love salt), the burrito was mushy, the fish was dry and chewy, and accompanying Cole slaw was limp, bland and warm. The beer was cold and refreshing, but never did get the one water that was requested. The bathrooms were clean. We will give it a year to try again. read more

Two small problems keep it from being a 5 (I'm picky) *Service was slow--though no idea whether that was the server or the kitchen. It wasn't horribly busy, but wasn't empty. Still--affects my opinion. *We wound up being assigned a high-top table rather than a normal one. The seats were not a comfortable height--I was too tall and my legs fell asleep 30 minutes into our visit. That sucked. The food was delicious--I had a burger with egg and hash browns right on it--burger was done perfectly as was the sunny-side egg. The side of onion rings was good, too, and everything was served at the right temperature...food definitely hadn't been under warmers much if at all. A friend had sweet potato fries with a sweet chili sauce--got to try a couple of those...very good. The sauce was great. In terms of drinks, the guys who had beer liked the selections available and apparently if you want flavored lemonade, you get the flavors mixed in directly at the bar, so you can get some say in just how heavy the flavoring is. The way the place does their appetizers and sauce selection is great--easy to find something that works for everyone. It is worth going to, worth going back to...but if the owner's reading--for the love of God, put normal tables in instead of the high-top ones you have. read more

My friends wanted to have a meeting for an upcoming trip and we decided to meet up at Barrel House on Utica. I had never been there before. I ordered a coke, and then pretzels. When the coke arrived it was definitely diet coke, but whatever. The real problem was the pretzels - the pretzels were served cold, soggy, and tasted fishy. It was like they were frozen, and only microwaved halfway. I couldn't eat them at all. I did mention to my waitress that they were disgusting, but she didn't really seem to care. This cost $13. Super unhappy with what I imagine will be my only Barrel House experience. read more
