Food was ok but not great. Waitress was frendly and did a good job. Had to wait for a table which was fine, but they had several tables reserved. They finally stuck us back in a corner. I was told by a few people to try this place out so I did and I was so impressed by the service and the patio out back was so peaceful big and open. Went here with my mom and her boyfriend. Food was very good. My mother ordered a strawberry mojito and it was not good at all. She got something else and they saved her mojito and reserved it to someone else 20 minutes later in a new glass. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional. read more

Grabbed lunch here while in town for work. I ordered the chipotle steak burrito - It was OK, but I wouldn't order it again. They do have a really good beer selection. The girls working behind the bar were both very friendly and the inside of the place is nice and clean. I would eat here again and try something else to eat. Utica ridge barrel house needs upgrades. Sat us at a table the chairs were ripped up and so wore not very appealing. Table wasn't any better. Floors were very slippery. The food was pretty good though. This place is always busy so I know they can afford to put money back in the business. read more

Went in on a Saturday night fully expecting to wait. After we'd been there for 35 minutes (which was how long they said our wait would be) 2 guys came in claiming they called ahead. None of the hosting staff knew anything about that. They asked their manager who said tell them they would have to wait. About 3 minutes later they were seated by the hostess anyway. The first time I went here, the food and service were EXCELLENT! We decided to go there again on Saturday for lunch since I enjoyed it the first time. The last visit was completely opposite and definitely took me by surprise. We went there for lunch on Saturday which we knew would be busy. The last time we went, they were very busy but still offered excellent service. This time, we waited 20 minutes to get our drinks and had to flag down our server to take our orders. When the server came with our food, he immediately placed it on our table and left without asking if we needed anything else. Once again, we had to flag him down for a pop refill and extra condiments. He never once stopped by our table to see how we were doing or making sure our food was okay, but he did check on the table next to us. We also had to flag him down to get our checks as well. We were in a hurry so we just handed him our credit cards to run before he could give our checks. The kicker was that our server charged us an extra soda, but I didn't want to wait much longer for the server to correct this. I understand that there are times when restaurants are swamped and busy, but this was very disappointing considering I had such a wonderful experience my first time. The best part, we received NO apologies from the server. Very upset and frustrated with the experience. The food was subpar, I got the carne asada tacos and there were more garnish than meat. The sweet potatoe fries are amazing and the ranch is pretty good! The food is the reason why I am giving it an extra star. read more

We read reviews on Yelp and decided to go there for lunch today, 4/12/17. While the food was very good the attitude in the kitchen was really poor. We both ordered our fries without seasoning. Mine were fine but my wife's had seasoning on them. We informed the waitress and she apologized, went to get another order for us then came back and told us the cook told her there was no seasoning on the fries. We could not only taste it but see it. IT IS NOT THE JOB OF THE COOK TO ARGUE WITH THE WAITRESS ABOUT AN INCORRECT ORDER! The cooks job is to refire the order or in our case drop new fries. Because of this BS attitude we will not go to this restaurant agian! read more

I really enjoyed the Barrel House in Moline. So we stopped at the Utica Ridge location because it was closer. There was a wait time, which we totally expected. After a half hour of waiting a guy came in and was told he had to wait. He said he called ahead and shouldn't have to wait. The hostess told the other employees his situation. No one knew anything about him calling. The hostess was told to tell them they had to wait. A few minutes later she seated them anyways. We felt at that point it was time to leave. read more

My new favorite bar in the Quad Cities! It's no secret that I've been a big fan of the locally owned pub restaurant Barrel House for a few years. Now with a location close to my house and the office park near Utica and 53rd I'm even happier. This Barrel House continues to offer a casual and fun atmosphere with a broad menu of American bar fare including burgers, salads, wraps, and dessert (hello salted caramel cheesecake). My usual choices are the Avocado Chicken sandwich/salad/wrap or Fish Tacos. This central location has become a regular lunch and happy hour/dinner stop for my friends and me. Plus, bottles of wine are half price on Thursday. It can get super loud and busy around happy hour and dinner but the bar usually clears our later in the evening allowing a better atmosphere. I guess all the North of 53rd families go home early! We've had quite a few nights of really awesome conversation and laughs in this laid back atmosphere and the servers make an effort to get to know us "regulars". I've had good service from servers Carrie, Michelle, Joe, and McK something along with bartender Michelle. I can't wait for warmer weather to sit on the patio or around the fire pit again. My college best friend and her husband came to visit over Thanksgiving and specifically requested a "bar unique to the Quad Cities" so Barrel House seemed like the obvious choice. They loved the Carne Asada tacos, Boom Boom Sauce, and the broad beer selection. This Barrel House runs lots of specials and giveaways during Iowa Hawkeye games making it a fun place to watch the away games. I am really happy to have this new Barrel House location for work lunches, happy hour, and weekend drinking. read more

The food was great. The service was great. But, it was WAY too noisy. We were so excited to try the new location on Utica Ridge because we really like the Barrel House. Unfortunately the extreme noise level made it impossible to talk to anyone at our table. We had to talk very loudly -- even to place our orders. Is it just the open ceilings? Maybe they should wait until 8 p.m. or so to turn the music on, just to have a quieter dinner hour. I have heard several other people talk about the noise level, so it wasn't just us. Our waitress was more concerned with flirting with two guys at the bar than serving us. The manager on duty had to take our drink order and tell the waitress to take our food order after we had been waiting for a while. When the food came it was very bland and over salted. The steak burrito was really excellent, and my husband enjoyed his Build-a-Burger. We also had the chicken twists as an appetizer (which was slightly bland), with a variety of tasty dipping sauces. However, our appetizer didn't come out until our entrees did, which rather defeated the purpose, and while we had asked for ranch dip and chipotle mayo dipping causes, we instead got ranch, cucumber wasabi, and sweet thai chili. Not bad sauces, actually quite good sauces, but not all what we'd asked for. Because our appetizer didn't come out until our meal did, I had to box up half my meal, and it was another 15 minutes, at least, until our waiter came by to give us our check. We never got a refill on our drinks either. Trying to catch our waiter was difficult. The atmosphere was also rather loud, and the westering sun was so intense I had to keep shifting my seat so I wouldn't get blinded. While the food here is good, I'd recommend trying at a less busy time (we went on 6pm on a Saturday) to save your ears and possibly get faster service. read more

I have now been to the Barrel House with my wife for dinner; with friends to watch football, and with friends for lunch... Each time I left satisfied... The food is consistently good bar/tavern fare, to include the salads. The beer is cold (although I wish they served at least one German Pilsner.)... The restaurant attracts good crowds, and it is tough to get a table on Friday and Sat evenings... The atmosphere is lively, but not overly loud. The ambience is very comfortable, esp for the 30-50 age crowd... I will keep returning... There is a lot to like about the Barrel House. read more

Not much to offer for a vegetarian, but they are willing to delete meat from some menu items at no change in cost. My biggest gripe is that it is too noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation. Servers are attentive and pleasant. read more
