Went with my adult kids and grands the other night and was very impressed! while my son, daughter(in-law) and younger grands enjoyed their pizzas down to the last bite and their chicken nuggets, my daughter and older grands enjoyed salads and sammies. Went for lumch today. Go about 2 to 3 times for salad. Always good. The young girl working today with the blonde hair was super rude. Like i came in at the wrong time and she was bothered to help me. They recently moved their location to a new building closer to the center of town, nearer to the highway. The new location is nice... but has been much busier. Barros pizza is good because of their sauce. There was a time a few years ago when they decided to change their sauce and wow, the pizza was horrible, but they corrected that mistake pretty quickly and now it is back to where it started, very tasty. I also tend to order wings and pasta from them. The pasta is so-so, I don't really like their sauce, and the wings tend to be less hot than you request, but the wings are decent. Honestly their wings are better than the wings at Buffalo Wild Wings, at least to me they are. These days I always request delivery and delivery is always prompt, and the driver is always chipper. All in all I think the Barro's in Anthem is very good. read more

Of the pizza places in the area, I think this is the best option. Solid pizza. Sparse toppings. My measuring stick on toppings is you should get some of each in every bite. To do that, I suggest ordering 'double' for all toppings except pineapple, there was plenty of that. Other than that, a very good pizza. Some pizzas make better left overs than others. Although Fridays are "pizza day" in our family....we broke tradition yesterday and stopped at Barro's before heading out to a movie. Our experience was mixed. I either over-estimated our appetites or under-estimated the size of the portions. We were hungry so we ordered "breadsticks" covered with cheese. It was much, much larger than we expected. We weren't able to finish all of it. Then they delivered our pizza. We ordered a 12" regular crust pizza....one-half sausage, one-half pepperoni & sausage. My wife had told me to order the 10". I should have listened. Once again....we weren't able to finish all of it. I thought the breadsticks were outstanding. We both thought the pizza was a bit greasy. I'm thinking it was a natural combination of the real cheese and other ingredients. I'd go back. My wife says no. So i was in town with a friend visiting her brother in Anthem and we decided to have some pizza and wings delivered,and i have to admit,it is great pizza,i would have to say better then Domino's and Pizza Hut and i might sound crazy but up there with Shakey's Pizza (out here in Cali) . Tasted their Pepperoni Pizza and Mild Sauce Wings. The pizza was just yummy,thick with cheese and that pepperoni kick that lacks on others,wings were all drumsticks,no small parts like other chain restaurants have,you know what i am talking about,the side pieces,these were all drumstick's,who does that? This people do,awesome! So if your in the Phoenix Area and surroundings,try this spot or their other locations,i am sure it runs in the chain family. Ok I'll start with the food. It was GREAT! Ok why the 3 stars ??? ... we had a veggie pizza that was cooked perfect , cheesy and tasty , you can tell it's a fresh made product. We also had two salads with blue cheese dressing. The salads were actually made from scratch and the dressing was fantastic with chunks of cheese - very unexpected !! So WHY the 3 stars??? First the place is not that clean. Tables were sticky , a garbage can sat on a chair next to us the whole time and wait for it .... the FLIES were unbearable. In your food - in your face - in your water.... The staff , I saw 5 of them all standing behind the counter on their phones and talking (there were signs "no cell phones on front desk" ). An employee came out of the restroom wiped his nose , wiped his hair and went back in the kitchen. There is only one pizza that I like better than Barro's Pizza and that's Valentino's in Nebraska. Most Nebraskan's will tell you the same thing - that Valentino's is hands down the best pizza there is. Maybe it's because we cut our teeth on it. Anyway, since I can't get that here, Barro's is the next best thing and I'm thrilled that we finally found it. We have tried all the pizza places in Anthem & north Phoenix and Barro's is always the one we agree has the very best pizza. Why do we sometimes go elsewhere? Convenience. We don't live in Anthem so there are times when it's just too far to drive when you're hungry and other times making the drive isn't an option. I love the regular crust pizza with pineapple & jalapenos while my husband prefers pepperoni & jalapenos on his. Barro's uses good quality ingredients and their pizzas always have the perfect cheese/sauce/topping ratio. The crust is cooked to perfection, never doughy or burnt - just right. I wouldn't even give them a one star. My family and I stopped to eat on our way out of town. The place was very busy. we all placed our orders and sat down. As we waited and they we delivering food they were apologizing for the wait so we figured it would be a bit. It was. As the food started coming out some appetizers came and others didn't. My sons pizza came and hadn't gotten his appetizers and when they asked they hadn't even made them. Right after that my mini pizza came and it was wrong. The girl actually asked if I would like her to remake it and I said I would appreciate it. I asked 20 minutes later same girl she said she would check on it. The door to the kitchen opened and a mini mushroom and black olive thin crust was on the counter. Thinking I was getting my food I at down and waited another 15 minutes. At that time they didn't know where my food was. MMMM I said we had been there an hour and a hour and we had a 2 hour drive home and I just needed my food to go as I hadn't ate since that morning. The same girl said she would box it for me and would I like a refund. I thought this was such a kind gesture as I had waited so long and was so patient because they were so busy. She had to get her manager that took her another 15 minutes. My kids had left the restaurant as they wanted to handle this because they were so upset I had been treated so badly. I asked they to go ahead and go outside. So I get my refund and wait for my pizza. And again wait for the darn pizza. A different lady asks me if I got my refund and I said yes but I'm waiting for my pizza. The young girl that had taken care of me this whole time( and I say that very lightly) comes over and says we'll really you just get the pizza or you get a refund! I looked at her and said you have got to be kidding me! That's is not what you said! I am hungry and have a 2 hour ride home but I am over this. Barro's pizza looks like a chain, smells like a chain and may even feel like a chain (ahem - I didn't "feel up" anyone, I am talking about the ambiance) BUT THEY ARE NOT A CHAIN!! Their pizza taste way better than any chain pizza joints!! This particular Barro's is very good! Fantastic service ~ friendly, fast and eager to please. They are also consistent from visit to visit. They have a good selection of pizza's to choose from but don't let stop you from getting creative with your order. They will accommodate even the most finicky pizza peeps and will make what ever type of pizza your craving. The best el primo pizza joint I've had in AZ. This place has it all, cheap, fast, and tasty pizza pies for your consumption. They always deliver in 45, never had a 2 hours episode and I've ordered delivery probably 20+ times. Pizza is so freaking delicious, not too greasy, put enough cheese, their ranch that you use to dip the crust after you finish the pizza must be home made that shit is awesome! This location has repeatedly messed up our order and tonight receiving wings without sauce and a floppy pizza was the straw that broke camel's back. The kids working don't seem to care and pizzas are always sloppy with wilted lettuce in the salad bar. Its a shame but we will not be returning. We have visited Barro's Pizza twice. Once in January when we dined in their restaurant. Exceptional service, clean facility, good pizza. We visited again this week when we brought it back to our house. Really good pizza (i'm typically not a fan of pizza). Delicious sauce, ample cheese and toppings. Prices are good for the quality of the food you get and I'd rather spend money at Barro's than waste it on Pizza Hut or Dominos any day. Their meat pizza is really good and the italian sausage they put on the pizza sare these huge chunks of italian yumminess. The chicken pizza is good too and I love how much green peppers and onions they put on it. It gives it a crunch and makes it taste very fresh. Chicken wings have good flavor and HOT means hot... I even like the honey hot flavor which is not something I usually get. The spagehtti comes with this giant meat ball that is cut in half. The meat tastes soooo good. Like it is home made. Ravioli has good flavor too but I am not a big pasta fan so I usually eat the meat ball and move onto the pizza or wings. The garlic bread that comes with the pizza.... SOOO GOOD!
