First of all the food is phenomenal. The building is always clean and it has a great atmosphere but the service is always slow. They seem to not understand what part of the process they are in building the sandwich. My new favorite bagel place & corporate catering place! I ordered 2 doz bagels & cream cheese for a school event the next day. I got there too late to pick them up before they closed (3pm). So bummed because I know their bagels are SO GOOD! And this is a step up from the usual. And I special ordered them Cut In Half. I felt terrible. But KAYLA was so kind & patient with me. She assured me they'd be able to use them in a catering order and not to worry, and fully refunded my card. Kayla gave exemplary customer service and with a smile. Part 2- Tried them out again but this time for lunch catering. Their Deli Trays are great, very versatile so everyone can make their own YUMMY bagel sandwich (too many picky people to make happy). I have been ordering bagels online for pickup recently because they have pumpernickel. These are hard to find. I order 6 and ask them to slice them, then just keep in my fridge, ready to toast in the mornings. I have also gotten flavored cream cheese. It's easy & quick to order, pay, then go park in front and pick up. The staff isn't the friendliest, but then I am in and out and don't have a lot of contact with them. Happy to keep coming. I've been wanting bagels all week, but I am a night person and bagel places are morning-centric. Most close at 1 or 2. This one is open till 3, and was handy for my errands today, so I stopped in. Small place tucked away in a strip. Parking is cramped. Plenty of options at the counter for bagels, sandwiches, etc. I got lox on onion, and egg salad on garlic. Plus made a combo with drink and chili, and added an Asiago bagel with scallion cream cheese. The lox was great- bright "fresh" tender salmon, excellent bagel, some onions and capers adding texture. The egg salad was good- I asked for two scoops so it was overflowing. Again, good bagel, and the egg salad was lovely. The simple bagel and cream cheese was also good. The chili was like my mom's, tasty but not too spicy. There is a little heat hiding in there, so if you don't like spicy maybe stay away. Great service. Decent prices (and a check-in offer.) This place use to be Awesome and now it is a down right disapointment. I use to buy a dozen bagles weekly but the consistency started declining so I stopped. Tired of flat or half risen bagels. So i hadnt been for a while. So i stopped in to pick some up. There are 2 people working out front. One at the register and one making bagels. There are several in the back. You can see them sitting in the office. The person working the counter kept asking for help. No one would come to help. There was even an aurgument between workers because out of the 3 people in the office only one was on their break. 10 minutes later one of the people come out to help without a care in the world. Who cares people have been waiting for more than 15 minutes just to place an order. Now is the really troubling part. We decided to give them one more try. My wife bought a dozen bagels and a pound of cream cheese on line. No suprise the bagels were there usual half risen mess but the real issue was. They gave my wife a halfpound of cream cheese when she paid for a pound. She emailed the company and received a response from one of their joke of a managers. Who acted like she made it up until she produced pictures and a receipt. Sorry we dont need to try to beat you out a half pound of cream cheese but clearly the manager felt he did with his responce. He literally asked well what do you want me to do about it. I dont know how about you give us what we paid for. Hard to believe a bagel company wants to beat its custome out of $5 worth of overpriced cream chesse but i guess when your a theif it really doesnt matter how much it is. Barry Bagels are very well liked so often times they will run out of bagels but fear not they always make more. It's worth the wait! They have a large variety of flavors to choose from. A few favorites are the blueberry, raisin, everything and the jalapeño. I tried the bagel with lox and was not disappointed! The staff is on top of things. They're fast friendly and efficient. From the moment you're greeted at the door until you leave the service is great. They do go the extra mile to make sure that your bagel is right as well as bringing out your bagel. I wish I liked Barry Bagels more, as its location is very convenient. The bagels are okay, but not better than the name brands at the store, so I have a hard time justifying paying the extra just for the bagels. The lox and cream cheese bagel, the mark by which I compare bagel shops, was about as close to a southern New York lox and cream cheese bagel as Charlie's is to an authentic Philly steak - which is to say just reminiscent enough to make you wish you were in Rockland County/Philadelphia, but not good enough to satisfy your cravings. Too much cream cheese relative to lox (largely because of simply too much cream cheese), not a New York bagel. I can't remember the name of it, but the bagel shop in the Short North pre-pandemic did a better approximation. As a tea person, Barry's made me wish I had chosen Tim Horton's. There's one option, Lipton black tea, and it's served at 99ºC, so you have to wait 20 minutes to avoid burning your tongue. Tim's serves their tea too hot as well, but has a decent selection of options. Having a green tea option and one other black tea option, be it an Earl Grey or a fortifying English builder's, would be nice. The interior area is nice. Not a ton of tables, but enough, and good lighting. No loud music like at Tim's, so it's easy enough to concentrate, although one of the TVs was unmuted and on Fox - easy enough to stay out of earshot on a not-very-busy weekday, but would be annoying if there weren't any tables far away. I'll probably go back on occasion and try more of the sandwiches, but it's not going to replace my go-to coffee shops. read more

I find it amusing that people from Barry's have SO much time to continue to argue with me about my review when they have so many mediocre to bad reviews. I had given Barry's 4 stars, then 3 stars after our most recent visit when there was almost no lox on my bagel. Instead of apologizing for their poor service, they're wasting their time arguing with me. This seals the deal for me and we'll never buy from Barry's bagels again. In response to the person from Barry's who posted a response to my review. We buy our lox at Kroger or at a Frank's Fish and Seafood Market. They always have great prices on salmon and lox. They have run out a few times of chocolate chips (they are delicious, so I understand) but they will get them out and ready in minutes. Worth the wait always :-). The bagels themselves are great. They're the NY-style bagel that was super trendy in the late 90's before everyone went Atkins-South Beach-Keto dieting. The cream cheeses are fluffy and the veggie ranch variety is unique and craveable. They offer some very interesting bagel flavors I've not encountered before including Spinach Feta and Sunny Grain (sunflower seed) plus the usual suspects Plain, Everything, Sesame, Cinnamon Raison etc. I've even stopped by to pick up a dozen (13) + a 1b. of cream cheese (via Groupon) so I can be the office hero for the day. I will continue to stop here when the bagel crave strikes, but I have a few observations to share: 1) The staff is courteous but they always seem flustered, in a rush or understaffed. For the morning rush, it doesn't ever seem like there's enough people on the line, especially since this location also takes online orders. +1 headcount for rush times, please. This will make a happier, more productive staff and in turn create happier, more loyal customers. 2) As I watch the staff cut each bagel horizontally one-by-one, I wince hoping there are no accidental slice to the hand injuries. I've dined in and ordered delivery several times and everything is consistently fresh and delicious! I have ordered a variety of bagels with cream cheese and bagel sandwiches. My partner thought the lox bagel was very good. I like a simple "eggel" with cheese on honey-wheat. The honey-wheat bagel is, to me, the fluffiest and chewiest one but they've all been tasty! My kids love the chocolate chip bagels with strawberry cream cheese! These days, it's so nice to have a quality place to eat with fast service, delicious food, and fair prices. Sometimes the staff aren't as friendly or welcoming as they could be. People need a moment to consider the menu and ask questions before they order from so many options, and on a couple of visits I have found that the person taking my order acted like they were inconvenienced and unwilling to answer questions. We were so happy to find a Barry's Bagels near us when we moved to Columbus! So good, and so hard to. choose a flavor.

The price surely beats that of Panera AND I think it tastes a lot better! It was my first time having an everything bagel and i was impressed! The staff were helpful in explaining the menu options. They do offer all menu options in the morning except the soup as it was in process of warming up. Traffic is bad pretty consistent. The inside is nice, plenty of seating and many large TVs. They were currently playing sports. The price is great for the amount of food you get. Not sure why I have never been here before but it's easy to spend close to $10 at Panera for a breakfast sandwhich and a drink. The breakfast sandwhich here, price specifically , quality and taste, beats Panera hands down. Definitely recommend checking this place out for breakfast or lunch.
