Nice new white PVC and blue mesh chairs, which we've seen all over SPI, must be the new thing. TVs in the bar were sporadic, one missing, a couple of the others shorting out. The bottles of liquor behind the bar were all tattered and worn, like they'd been in a shipwreck. Did not inspire confidence when ordering drinks! Maybe it was the time of the year, but it struck us as a place where the bare minimum is invested, and they count on the great view to overcome the shortcomings... cannot recommend.., read more

Nice little bar on the beach right outside from the pool area and hotel. It's a really good size bar with lots of seating outside of it. They have the garage doors that fold down to block the wind, but unfortunately, they only keep the two in the corner closed down. Even on the really cold windy days all the others are up. It would be nice if those were down so that you could enjoy it and look at the beach while having a cocktail and a quick bite to eat. They serve several different classic and frozen drinks. And a good variety of food to choose from. read more

If you're staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and have gold status, then you're in luck! Because the food and dining credit works at Barry's Beach Bar. The service here is fast and friendly. Check out their happy hour for some $5 frozen cocktails. We ordered a Pina Colada and a Margarita, which both packed a punch. The food selection is a bit limited, but the beautiful view of SPI makes up for it. We got the Club Sandwich and the blackened fish n shrimp n chips. The club sandwich was loaded with ham, turkey, and bacon. It paired well with the lettuce and tomato, but I wish they had a signature sauce included to round it off. It also came with a handful of fries, but they were a bit bland and underwhelming. The blackened fish n shrimp n chips were packed with flavor but barely came with any fish. I wished the portion size was larger since most of the meal was just french fries. Overall, if you're in SPI, then Barry's Beach Bar is worth a shot due to its great views and service! read more

was looking for a place to watch the fireworks and have a bite & drinks. clayton's had so many not do great reviews for food & drink we looked for an alternative. barry's is right next to clayton's so we decided to try it. nice atmosphere, live music - 8PM on saturday on memorial day weekend. limited menu choices, but all were reasonable. got 2 orders of fish & chips, a pina colada & wave runner for $45 before top. the fish & chips were $12 each, so drinks were $8-$9. we ordered at the bar - under a covered pavillion, and drinks were served just minutes after we ordered. we chose seats at the counter overlooking the beach. food arrived very quickly and fish was fresh, hot and delicious! flaky, white fish was very juicy. chips - thin cut fries were meh. but for $12 a very reasonable price for 2 nice large fillets. drinks were good - im a lightweight - prefer less liquor in my drinks, so i may not be the best of judges. but i did watch the bartender add a substantial amount of rum to my pina colada. hubbies rum runner was tasty too. it was not too crowded, no trouble finding a seat. it was more crowded outside by the band. i liked it better than the crush at claytons. and had no objections to the food, drinks or service. there also looks to be beach access - nice place to take a break from the beach for lunch or a cocktail and enjoy the view. read more

We spent two nights at the Hilton and spent those two evenings at Barry's for dinner and drinks beachside. The fish tacos and double cheeseburgers were so good! Krys was a great bartender and a total boss at holding down the fort as the only one working the register and bar - all with great recommendations, wonderful service, and a smile! read more

This bar can be great but depends on the bartender they all work differently and charge differently, I can understand they want a good tip but don't put in a tip yourself and expect another one same with the food half butt idk what happened since Spring break came back to have another great experience and it sucked but the bartender wasn't there its was a young lady never got her name but she was great service great drinks top notch, now coming for our summer vacation it sucked drinks and food not very happy need to get people that want to work and not just want to take your money. So FYI get a receipt bc they add a tip without you knowing and expect another the only way I found out bc I printed out receipts instead of skipping like they want you to. read more

We have been on the island a few times in the last 4 years and tried variety of places. We typically go to Bar Louie, or Longboards which are both pretty good. Today, we have decided to walk over to Barry's and GOODNESS IT WAS AWESOME!!! The view is amazing, the atmosphere is serene, something about the way the bar sits makes it feel secluded but also in the middle of it all. Unique ambiance. BBQ tacos were to die for! We had to order them to go for dinner before we left Service was fast, would come back to the island again soon just to come back to Barry's! Our new favorite place on the island. We have been here several times. They have a great happy hour. We have been there when they had a DJ and live music. Both were great!!! We had their happy hour burger and mozzarella sticks. Both were very good! My one complaint is the service. I think they need to get better bartenders. They are rather slow and when there is a group of people waiting they don't seem organized. This place is very new so hopefully with a little time that will improve. Fun place to hang out! PS if they improve the service I will change my review to 5 stars!!!! read more

The food was pretty good but the older manager or whoever she was working the register was absolutely trash and a treated people poorly. Horrible attitude with everyone, rude and acted like you were annoying her when asking anything like for salt and stuff. Witnessed this behavior with numerous patrons.
