Super extensive menu and they also have cakes and baked goods as well which all look very enticing and delicious but I have not partaken. This menu is straight up huge though, like, anything you can think of it's probably up there. Ambiance is - well 1) i'm from a real city, so rating anything in humboldt on it's "ambiance" is a funny ask, but this place makes me feel like it's not illegal to be awake after midnight! So i'll take it. It's not like "cheap-cheap" but the food is good and you get what you pay for. Like, i'm poor, and I still wouldn't and don't complain about the prices cuz you get a lot of food, and it's all GOOD food, hella good, and they doing a real service to this otherwise completely dead after 6,7,8,9,pm ahh county/city/area by being open ALL THE TIME. I love that. Looooove that. Never change. 10 stars if i could.

Cheddar had hashbrowns, underdone and the cheese wasn't melted. I dont mean the omelet sat and the cheese got cold. It wasn't melted to begin with. Same with the cali omelet, cheese not melted. On the California omelet I had country potatoes, no seasoning, just bland. No flavor at all. We had English muffins, not toasted enough. The dessert case looked super yummy but after the bland bland food we passed. Staff was nice enough, you order at the counter and give a name. Surprise there were 2 people with the same name so someone else's food cane to our table first...it's going to have to be a hard pass.

My bartender was funny, kind and gracious and made me feel welcome and appreciated RGT&TR is an eclectic mix of folks from 21 and up, a large portion of the room is also over 40. The room is a smaller space with a mixture booths and chairs, a singular bar with about 6 to 8 or so stools, along with a few tables and chairs and also an outdoor seating area. The noodles were really good bar food, and my draft a decent pour. Having a nice hot green tea afterwards was a treat and that made my visit even more enjoyable and not like I was just hanging out in a bar. 3.5 Stars a cool neighborhood tavern with decent bar food and drink, rounded up for my bartender 00956

(Warning to straight white men) This place presents itself…read moreas inclusive, but I've personally heard complaints from two other straight white men who felt stigmatized here. What I experienced was the most humiliating nightlife situation I've ever dealt with, and it's something I'm still affected by when I go out in this small community. I had been going to The Goat on and off for about a year prior with no issues. No other establishment has ever had a problem with me. I'm sober and respectful. One night I was talking to a woman when a very drunk guy came up to me and asked, "Are you spiking drinks tonight?" I honestly thought he was joking and said, "No... what the hell?" To this day I do not know whether this guy was jealous because he wanted to talk to her, or if he genuinely believed something had happened to someone he knows. Either way, he had the wrong guy. He came back even more intoxicated and wanted to fight me. He was with a large friend group and was clearly the most drunk among them. I went to the bartender (Toss) and told him a guy was making serious accusations I did something I didn't do and was trying to fight me, and asked for help. What I didn't expect was a guilty-until-proven-innocent response. I wasn't asked questions or given any chance to explain. I was told there had been "several reports" that night and I was asked to leave, even though the other guy was the one threatening violence. I followed up with ownership/management over the phone the next couple of days. They told me there was no evidence of anything, that I wasn't banned, and to ignore the people involved and just enjoy my nights as long as I wasn't creating issues. I did exactly that. However, The Goat is a very clicky LGBTQ community, and after that night I was clearly socially targeted. Toss would follow me around whenever I showed up. On Sunday, the only unusual thing I did was leave the crowded karaoke room early and later take a nap in my car because I was exhausted from working earlier that day. I didn't even feel safe driving at that point. Then on Tuesday, I showed up and was told I could not come back due to another "cluster of complaints," including something about me being on my phone, which made no sense. I asked them to check the cameras because I didn't do anything wrong. Later that same Tuesday night, I saw Toss at Everett's, intoxicated, telling the owner I should be 86'd, citing these vague "incidents." I was just playing pool. I have no way to defend myself against false claims like this. No one ever complained about me before that first incident. I've spent years in Chico's bar scene with a solid reputation. False accusations are incredibly damaging. I would never spike drinks and wouldn't even know how. I don't think they realize this is bullying and harmful. I did nothing wrong, yet standing up for myself has gotten me nowhere.

Parking is plentiful and the location makes it convenient to grab from downtown. My favorite part of the menu was that fact that you can order a flight of ice cream, which are priced at $6 for 4 scoops or $11.50 for 8 scoops. It's a GREAT way to have customers try different flavors without overwhelming the sample spoons (PS I don't think this place does samples). I ordered a 4 flight of Mango Habanero, Chocolate Hazelnut, Dream Sweet Cream, and Cherry. The Mango Habanero had a good occasional kick of habaneros in an otherwise sweet ice cream. The chocolate hazelnut was dark but not very nutty - I think it's a safe pick. The sweet cream tasted like a mcdonald's ice cream cone (but perhaps healthier), and the cherry flavor can be avoided as it didn't taste like anything close to cherry. The line was a little slower than expected, but the pricing is very fair, especially for the flights. Service was friendly, and I think their menu changes some flavors ever so often.

What really makes it stand out though is the service. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and patient even when it's busy.
