He recommended a follow up visit to see if my gum recession gets worse which I scheduled. I asked him for a quote for the surgery incase its needed so I can budget and save. Gum surgery could cost anywhere between 1k-5k. Dr.Newbold approved getting me a quote at the front desk. I was in a hurry so I told the front desk I'll email them the surgery quotes and in person they approved sending me the quote for the surgery. I emailed them multiple times afterwards and they refused to send me the quote the doctor approved. They kept telling me to call them but even in one instance when I called they refused to give me the quote over the phone. I emailed them to cancel my follow up visit. After I cancelled they suddenly billed me $130 dollars. When I called them before hand and saw them in person they also told me insurance covered my visit. Their team did not actually check if my visit was covered the two times I asked. Dr. Newbold himself is fine to see as a dentist, but the people working the front desk are abysmal and deceitful. Doesn't really make sense for me to pay $130 after they refused to give me quotes for the surgery, which is why I made the appointment in the first place.

Just wanted to let you know that prior to my move, I had been coming here for over 20 years! Cherie was my hygienist and throughout those years, we had a sweet friendship there as we both are moms of boys, now men! Dr. Gardiner is a sweetheart and a very thorough dental professional. I was referred to them by my dentist, Dr. Janet Churella, DDS of Chino (RIP) due to my gums receding way in the late 1990's. After years of brushing with Extra soft toothbrushes that this office had provided me, my gums have no longer receded further thanks to my bi-yearly check ups here. The molar had been bothering me for years but I finally decided to do something about it. When I had my X-ray taken, Dr. Gilbert showed me that the molar and surrounding gum tissue were infected and that my body has been fighting an active infection! I had been feeling more run-down than usual this past year I thought that it could be this molar; I was relieved to discover that I was right. I immediately scheduled a surgery date for the extraction, bone graft, and ensuing dental implant. Dr. Gilbert told me that I would feel so much better after getting the molar removed. The day arrived and I had my molar removed as a well as the bone graft. Dr. Gilbert was right, I felt so much better immediately after surgery! I didn't bleed much and didn't have much swelling. Moreover, I barely had any pain and only had to take one Motrin the first day - which I took preemptively but I probably didn't need it. About a month ago, I went back for the dental implant procedure. The X-ray showed that my bone graft was adequate and I went right into surgery. After the second surgery, I was grateful to experience a similar result as the first surgery - very little bleeding, pain, or swelling. I just went in for my 4 week follow-up and my implant healed nicely, so nicely in fact that my gums healed over the implant! I have a bone-disease similar to osteoporosis and I'm very particular about who I choose to operate on me. Dr. Gilbert presented himself as professional, confident, and most importantly capable of meeting the challenge of performing a successful dental implant procedure on me. Thank you, Dr. Gilbert! When I asked the front desk for an estimate, I was told "10 minutes," which turned into another 30 minutes on top of the long wait. When the dentist finally came in, he did not greet me, introduce himself, or explain anything. He came in grunting, immediately grabbed my bottom lip with force, and said "lots of tartar" -- which I already knew, that's why I scheduled the appointment. He then walked away to see another patient. Meanwhile, he spoke politely and attentively to the next patient, asking her about her concerns -- I was never asked how I was feeling, what my symptoms were, or anything about my pain. After this brief interaction, the dentist never returned. After nearly three hours in the office, I was told no treatment would be done that day. I was only given a prescription, and even that was communicated indirectly through the assistant while he was in the room. This experience felt dismissive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Patients deserve basic courtesy, communication, and consent -- none of which I received here.
