Quick dinner On a mini July 4th weekend getaway, Yelped a nearby place for dinner and led us to this burger joint. Took us back to 50's / 60's style with the U.S. flag proudly displayed outside. Nothing more American than having Old Glory waving. Inside is donned with plenty of roadster car photos. The counter has about ten bar stools. There are four other tables that seats up to 4 each. Outside is shaded and has plenty of seating. Actually, it looks like it was formerly a gas station and converted into a burger place. Ordered the Giant Burger. Had everything in it except for onions. It was a huge burger, very tasty and filling. The fryer was temporarily out-of-order so we didn't get a chance to taste their fries. Tip: check-in Yelp and receive a small cup of soda. There were two ladies working behind the counter and both were friendly. This must be a popular place for locals and road trip passersby as the place got full by the time we were done and left... good place to stop on Highway 5. Easy to find from the freeway. Stopped here on the way north. Thought the patio would be nice to sit at with my dog while I are. Ended up waiting 45 minutes in 90 degree heat, and eventually had to go in and ask what happened to my burger. They had apparently lost the ticket and forgot about it. This is despite the fact that it was not particularly busy, and I was sitting outside where they could clearly see me waiting. Someone came out and asked if I wanted more soda but never asked if I had even gotten my food. Once I told them, the food came out quite quickly. I was excited to try this place but when I walked in the door my whole vibe got ruined. The lady at the front was being nice to everyone else but as soon as she saw me, a colored man, she changed her whole mood. She was rude and went above and beyond for everyone else but me. When I finally got my order and was about to leave I realized she didn't give me my drink that I paid about 5 bucks for. I didn't even bother going back inside because I was too uncomfortable. Great burger place near the Tesla supercharger! Very friendly owner and staff! Hubby and I shared a Giant burger which is a 1/3 lb burger with big bun. The buns are nicely toasted and the veggie/tomato are very fresh. You can definitely taste the awesome made-to-order freshness to the juicy burger! I also like their fries which is the skinny type. Decided to stop here after a long day at the lake. Food was ok, but - 1- an outdoor awning fell on my shoulder. I go inside to tell the manager, and he lets me know that "the side was blocked off". I told him there was no sign stating to not sit there. He storms off with paper and tape to make a sign, all while giving no apology for that happening, let alone asking if I'm ok. 2- manager yelled at employee to wear a mask all while he did NOT have a mask on. Major COVID procedures were enforced during my trip (I.e. all employees were NOT wearing masks, gloves were not enforced, AND if customers did not want to wear a mask, the employees offered to take their order outside. THIS IS NOT OK). All in all, 0/10 would come back here again. read more

On the "pricey" side but yet again this is family owned and not a chain. Regular burger was $5.85 and I shared large fries for $3.95.
