I'll start with the good; most of the people that work there do seem really nice and kind. But that's about it. Sadly they all seem scared of the owner Kim. She was rude and dismissive. Interrupting me whenever I tried to ask a question. She started to raise her voice when I told her I was the customer and that I would decide what is best for my home. Obviously she didn't like that because she told me I could shop elsewhere. She looked like she was about to have a nervous breakdown and stormed away. As I was leaving I saw her pull out of the parking lot and nearly hit two cars on 45! I wouldn't go back to this store ever! read more

I'm a furniture junkie... Great stand alone building, easy location and access off of 45 feeder South. Spacious showroom and friendly staff. I melt when I walk by the open, well lit and welcoming fabric area.. So many choices and soooo little time. I've been here a handful of times.. While the showroom is beautiful and full of products, it Doesn't change as often as I hope it would . . Personally, The repetitive heavy look is Just not my style.. However with that being said - if you share your look, style and what you have in mind... The Bartholet team is the first to pull out a welcoming chair, a handful of catalogs, fabric swatches and discuss your ideas until your wishes and dreams are fulfilled. read more

Expensive, cheap and rude. They will sell you anything and every they can and push you to buy more. If you push back they treat you like you have no taste and aren't deserving of their time. I got the evil eye from a woman named Kim and her husband who owns the store just brushed off her rude behavior as if it was my fault, the paying customer, her engaging with her. Absolutely love this story. The selection is great and the staff is so kind and helpful. We have moved several times and because their furniture is timeless it has fit in all the homes, only have to accent it with matching rug or accent piece. When I go in there I tell them what I need and they instantly have a suggestion. As others have commented, it is a bit pricy but not nearly as much as Restoration Hardware or PB. In a world of everyone having the same old thing, this place sets the benchmark for unique items, mixed with current trends. It's hard not to like this store or the family that runs it. The owners and their children have great style and a keen eye for detail. They are polite, hands on and responsive to your needs. You will get no attitude here like other places with high end goods. Kim was more than helpful in helping my husband and myself furnish our kitchen and living room. She went above and beyond helping us with samples choices to pick from. She dropped our choices in a program that would let us know if what we chose would fit in our rooms. Kim had surgery on her foot and I could at times see the pain in her eyes but she kept on smiling throughout the 5 hours she spent with us. I visited Bartholet Home Furnishings for the first time today, 12/2018. They have lovely unique quality furniture and many beautiful accessories for your home. However, my customer service experience is worth writing this review. I entered the store and there were two individuals at the front entrance, one working with a customer and another on the phone appearing to be conducting business. There was no acknowledgement of my presence, not even a greeting... I continued to browse through the store; at after 15 minutes thereabouts, a young lady acknowledged my presence and stated, if I needed any help, just me know. There were numerous staff members in the work area, perhaps decorator consultants, etc., but not one acknowledged me after being in the store for approx. 30 minutes. Wow, I guess Bartholet is overflowing with business or they somehow don't realize that $$ are green and an individual's influence +/- future business $$. Let me first start out by saying that the entire Bartholet staff are very polite and helpful but not pushy at all. If you have questions or just looking for ideas and inspiration that are ready and able to assist. Kim Bartholet is extremely helpful and will provide you with the accessories, tables, etc to create just exactly the look you want to complement your room. But the real reason for the review has to do with the customer service offered. We were planning to move and had selected furniture for the living room of our new home. Much helpful advice and color swatches later we had the finishing touches ready for the new room. They reserved the furniture and were going to hold it until the closing two weeks later. Unfortunately, the house closing feel through and I had to call and cancel the order. Kim was so understanding and sympathetic! She was able to fully refund the 25% down payment made and even cancel the order for a custom piece. We will definitely be back to Bartholet when we are ready to design our new living room! You can't go wrong here with the quality furniture and even more important the quality STAFF! read more

I absolutely love this store and have enjoyed working with Kim and Kelsey. I've lived in my home for the past 9 years and have an odd shaped living area that has been difficult to furnish. After one visit with Kim she was able to rearrange my furniture and accessories to make the room much more comfortable. With a whole new perspective on my home I had Kim redecorate my family room and dining room. She combined some of my existing pieces with new and I have a stylish and updated look for my home. Staff were very helpful and not pushy, they took the time to understand what I was looking for and they offered many great suggestions. We stopped at this store during business hours 3 times. Once it was closed for inventory. Another time it was just closed at 1pm... no clue why. 3rd time it was closed because it was Sunday. So that's the reason for 3 stars instead of 4. Now once we got inside, it's a fabulous store. A bit pricey but several one of a kind items. Nice staff, great choices. I have no issues with the store itself as they worked with us on purchase issues at the time, Todd in particular. However, the store refers touch up and custom finishing to an individual known as "Brita" (company Fantastic Faux). She was very quick to come out initially, but apparently has no desire to do any follow up. Our paint colors looked OK when they were wet, but turned out very different once they dried. They do not look good at all. We have left several messages with her since then, but no luck. Oh well, so much for trying to please the customer. It looks like we'll have to do it ourselves or spend another ($200-$300) to get it right. Thanks, Brita - NOT. Unless you don't care about customer service at all, beware of Brita (Fantastic Faux) and do yourselves a great favor -- use your own people. read more
