I had the honor of attending a coworker's wedding at Bartley Cavanaugh this past Saturday. The location was beautiful with nice views of the golf course. There was a tent set up with chandeliers that really made everything look so elegant and classy especially as the sun went down. The staff were friendly and did a great job keeping the guests fed during the cocktail hour. They were hustling around the entire evening as well. Food was decent - the chicken was dry, but overall, we enjoyed the food! My family and I aren't golfers so not sure when we'd be back, but if you are, it is definitely a course worth checking out! read more

Greens are slow right now. Price has gone up. Today, took 3 hrs for front nine. Had to quit after 4.5 hours and on hole 13 only. Pro shop pick and choose who needs to play fast. Even marshals here go on power trip. This is home course but I guess I won't be back and play any time soon. Take it with a grain of salt. Don't let me tell you, I told you so. Besides, this way it'll save me at least $1,500 - $2,000 a year at this course since it's so close to home. Wild Hawk Golf course is the new home course now. read more

I had such high hopes for this golf course, and possibly making this my future wedding venue. I scheduled a tour with Chloe back in August to tour and inquire about their new venue that had just opened up. The tour was very informative and my fiancé and I completely fell in love with the venue. I was told that by the end of the week I would be emailed a proposal. It has now been three months and the staff at this location hasn't called nor followed up with me. I have reached out on my own since then and no one ever gets back to me either through phone or email. I was straight up ghosted! I hope that they don't treat all their potential clients like this and I was just a one off. Regardless, not a good look considering they were offering a huge incentive for couples who booked during the summer, it would've been nice to consider them as one of my future venues read more

I came here for the first time a week ago and it was a pretty solid experience. The only other course I've played in this area is Dry Creek, and for a few more bucks this place blows that one out of the water. The course is well maintained and can be challenging. I was here for a wedding. Parking was great. Set was ok. Didn't like that the bathroom was in a trailer that went out of service . The food was ok, the refill was not fast enough, the servers were not interested in servicing the guest. I had my food throw or slapped on my plate. The servers seemed like they didn't want to be working. Where was the bread plate, bread and butter came, no bread plate. Felt like an animal gnawing in bread. No water refills??? Went and played a round of golf and half way through i received a fraud alert .. not thinking anything of it.. by the time I finished the 13 hole it was already too foggy to play so we decided to call it a day . Went to my car and realized someone had broken into my vehicle ..Items were stolen a watch that was gifted that had sentimental values , some cash and my credit card ... went up to the guy in the office but he said there was no cameras in the parking lot .. sad day of golf.. future golfers leave absolutely nothing in your cars .. looks like there are people with sticky fingers .!!! read more

I can second the observation that they way over book the tee times. Everyone feels pressured to play speed golf to keep up. We had to let at least three groups play through and skip a hole just to try and give ourselves some breathing room to actually concentrate on our shot. We weren't playing slow by any means, but there simply was not any buffer built in at all to be able to play seriously let alone relax. read more

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at Bartley Canvanaugh Golf Course recently and it was a beautiful venue. The pictures I took do not do it justice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we first arrived to set up and continued to be throughout the night. I did also get to order a club sandwich and it was superb! Crunchy bacon, choice of bread, juicy tomato, crispy lettuce and elevated with a little mayo or some type of sauce. The fries were well seasoned and soft in the middle as well. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture but the presentation was also an A+. In the evening when the golf course is basking in the light of golden hour is a really breathtaking place to be. If you are planning on hosting any events or are having a wedding I would most definitely recommend this location. read more

Bartley used to be one of my favorite courses to play. Not anymore, I played yesterday and it took 5 hours to finish. Marshalls are non-existent. I bought a turkey sandwich with a side of fruit and it cost $22. The sandwich was nothing special and the fruit was not ripe. I left feeling that the course is more interested in maximizing their revenue rather than providing a decent customer experience. read more

Bartley is a fun Muni Course to play if yo fire able to get out and play it. IF there aren't a bunch of people on, which there usually is. IF you have 5 plus hours to play which you most likely will and IF you have 80.00 to spend on a 50.00 dollar course. Which it is. Greens are best thing about the course. 80.00 to play on a course with no Driving Range and a beat up small little net to hit a few balls is wild. read more

Course overbooks tee times. Wait 10 minutes after your tee time to tee off. Staff harasses you for stopping and spending 2 minutes eating a hot dog at the turn because their staff wouldn't offer to bring it out. Wait times between holes because they can't manage proper booking and they send someone out to tell you to hurry up when you're waiting to tee off because the group ahead of you is on the green on a par 3. Cart girl is amazing, rest of the staff is horrible. Also $80 to play with freshly punched greens? Save your money and play somewhere else read more

Amazing Wedding venue and Staff. My daughter got married there on June 8th and from starting to plan to wedding day the staff was professional and very helpful in every way they possibly could be. Our Co-Ordinator Chloe was knowledgeable and very easy to work with, one of the best planners I have ever had the privilege of working with. On wedding day Nicole slipped in with Chole to help make everything run smooth throughout the day , she fit right in and did a fantastic job as well with getting folks where they needed to be and just calming nerves. The setup of the venue was just what we had asked for and talked about! The food was fantastic and the staff was attentive and helpful through out the event. I would recommend this venue and its amazing employees to host your wedding or event. We had such a great experience. read more

Need a starter course? This is it. Other than the island green hole, nothing is particularly tricky. Everything is straight, decently wide fairways, not too long, no really traps or deep rough of bushes. Keeps it interesting with some challenges with the moguls and some water along the edge of holes but even the island green is only 85 yards. Staff were a bit weird but generally helpful. Only dings I give it: 1. Greens hard as hell, bounces can be really unpredictable 2. Grabbing food at the turn isn't particularly efficient 3. 14 dollars for a sandwich is kind of obscene Would play again though. read more

Went here for a a family wedding. It's a nice little spot but probably better for hot summer nights. The dining area was way too crowded. The dance floor is separate from the dining which is fine. The bar was inside with the Photobooth but lots of empty space with no chairs. There was one small lounging area and no diaper changing station (always negative when places don't have this). Probably could have done the layout better for weddings. The food & service was ok. The bartenders were awesome. Overall cleanliness was good enough. read more

Course conditions: Overall Good *Greens Positive: Greens run true, extremely receptive, challenging but still a good place to learn as most of the course is relatively flat with minimal angulations. Extremely "gettable" for amateur to low handicap golfers. Negative: Cups often cut poorly resulting in putts popping out on occasion. *Fairways: Good Positive: Links style course and minimal OB allows for little worry on the majority of the course when gripping and ripping as you'll most likely be in another fairway unless you find yourself on the 4 holes bordering the fence line or 5 holes with water in play. Negative: many areas where they over water and need to do some work as it has been "ground under repair" for months on end. *Tee Box: Poor Positive: if you play from the "tips" you'll be shooting off even ground. Negative: if you play blues, whites you are in for a challenge finding a place to tee on 50% of the holes. Signature holes: Excellent Holes 5, 9, 12, 13 & 18 have water making it exciting and challenging. #1 Signature hole 17th Island Green TPC Sawgrass (Players Championship) replica makes for a round of golf you won't forget. I had the most amazing beautiful tuna salad sandwich last Sunday. This was our first time at the Taphouse. We enjoyed ourselves and the service was awesome. I went there today hoping to have the same delicious tuna sandwich, it was not the same! The bread was barely toasted, there was no lettuce on one side, so the tuna was stuck to the bread, which made it all soggy, and then most of the bread crumbled off the sandwich. I bit into a 4 cm thick unripe gross tomato. My husband's burger looked like it came from AMPM minimart, very disappointed. Also, my food sat in the window so long that by the time I got home everything warm was cold. No, they were not busy. read more

I was very upset and disappointed today with the service at Bartley Cavanaugh when I reserved a tee time for my 13 year old. The front desk guy charges me $19 per person to sit in the cart, which with 2 minors and 1 adult riding in the cart, they added $57 on top of the green fee of $48 which totaled to $105!! I ended up speaking to the clubhouse manager and he too was going to charge me $19 per seat. I have never paid extra per seat to ride in a golf cart in my life! there's plenty of other nicer courses out there that don't charge me per seat for renting a golf cart! If it wasn't for my kid's upcoming tournament, I would never come here, the service from that clubhouse front desk and manager suck!!! read more

I finally had the rare opportunity to stop in at the Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course while I was in Sacramento last weekend. I had heard and seen great reviews and photos of this specific golf course so it was nice to be able to check it out in person. There was ample free parking available and the grounds seemed very clean throughout my entire stay. I opted to start at the bar inside and the drink prices were a little steep, but not too pricey to be considered outrageous. The staff seemed friendly and all was well during my stay. This is our local course so we go there a lot. It is links style and pretty close together but we have always had a great time. Everyone we have been paired up with has been fun and nice. You get some balls flying off course but never been that bad and I have been too many high profile and expensive courses where we experienced the same thing. The staff has always been great They don't have a driving range but there is a place to warm up and I don't mind that. Food haven't been too bad but I mostly go to golf. They keep it pretty well maintained and at the end of the day it is a really fun course to play at. read more

Really enjoyed this course. The layout is tight but enjoyable. However a few things I hope is not a constant. I did encounter someone's ball as it landed 5 feet away. The geese were cute as they seem to own the course but after awhile the cuteness faded as we kept having to dodge goose poop on fairways or especially near or on a few greens. Another nuisance was the many lawn mowers out that day. It seemed I encountered the same one on each fairway. Seriously.. Having to look down the fairway and see a mower parked on the side awaiting my shot got really old! I'm convinced my crappy game was their fault! This is a nice golf course that also has a decent restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is a full cocktail bar with TVs, pro shop and space available for events, parties & weddings. I've been to the club house here at least three times already to attend my work's Christmas parties. They have always put on a pretty good spread of food that appeals to most palettes. The appetizers were mini cheese quiches, mini tacos, skewered chicken strips and assorted fruit. The dinner buffet consisted of a combination of delicious cold seafood (shrimp & cracked crab legs), standard green salad, spicy chicken wings, sliced turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, and sushi. Our tables were set formally and looked festive. Although their folding chairs were a bit awkward. They seemed to be made of the cheapest plastic. And once you sat in them, the seats felt like you could fall backwards. A little balance challenging if you've had a few drinks! The bartenders and staff were fast and efficient, keeping up with my fellow vultures. The drinks are not inexpensive but they are strong! So needless to say, everyone seemed to be having a great time. And we'll have plenty to razz people about back at work! This is a very nice course! The staff is very friendly and prices are very reasonable.

Get course play and employees under control. No marshals keeping golfers near pace. This was my first time playing this golf course. On one hole and only one hole I hit a 3 wood 240 yds into a 285 yard par 4 and mistakenly rolled it passed a golfer 30 yards lateral, but crushed. The other golfer didn't seem to notice. When I got to the 18 green I was confronted by an employee that came up aggressively to me on the green. He claimed we were hitting balls into other players, which was totally off-base and completely untrue (minus my mistake into the ridiculous short par 4 - total accident). I prepared to physically defend myself as his behavior suggested he wasn't there to talk, but I was able to deescalate. I have the name of the employee, but don't want anyone to lose their job during these times, but this place needs to get their shit together. read more

Very nice course and well drained. It is narrow for the most part so make sure your driver game is on point. If you're in the rough, you're typically using an iron off hills, but it isn't dramatically difficult. The only drawback here is that many times you will have people playing on your fairway since they hooked or sliced their drive. There is no driving range here which is disappointing for this nice of course but a decent chipping and putting area. read more

Played here again today and even with the amount of rain we have had the course is in excellent condition. The course is difficult and quite technical but open enough to be forgiving but always have a few balls in your bag that you won't mind getting wet. Staff are friendly and club house is well appointed. Also a big positive with this course is the course marshal who persuaded a slow four ball to let me through...
