This was astronomically high in our opinion. We got another plumber to look at it and he fixed the leak within 30 minutes and it only cost us $350. HUGE price difference! Companies like Plumbwell seem to be in the business of up selling and price gouging. Needless to say, we will not be calling them ever again. I had two problems that needed to be addressed. I had a fairly new toilet that hadn't been set…read moreproperly and was moving around the floor and leaking. Also, the cold water stopped working in my shower, making the shower unusable. I lost my husband this year and am never sure about what to do when things go wrong in the house, since I never had to address those problems in the past. I called 1-Tom and they made me feel completely confident about my choice. Right from the start, I liked the fact that they answered the phone and I didn't have to keep pushing buttons to get to the right person. I was told that they stood behind all their work and they would make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. Before Alex came to my home, I received a photo of him. He was confident and friendly and I immediately felt I was in good hands. Originally it looked like it was going to be a bad situation with the toilet and that the floor might have to be torn up. Discovered a pinhole leak in the basement's hot water pipe from the hot water tank. I shut-off the…read morehot water, and called Gordon for his stellar Yelp reviews. I left a message, and he returned my call almost immediately. After explaining the situation, he said he was in the neighborhood, just finished a job, and would be over within the hour. A half-hour later, he appeared, and, after assessing the problem, removed the damaged area along with the tee part that was corroded (it was at my insistence, as long as he was there). He explained everything he was going to do, and even let me help (holding flashlight, supplying towels, turning house faucets on and off as needed, etc.). About an hour later, the job was finished. Three weeks later (i.e., now!), it is still holding up, and I expect no problems. He was amiable without being patronizing, and the cost was about $300 cash, which I considered to be very reasonable.
