It's also VERY affordable and quick. I brought two pants to get hemmed and a dress to get completely altered. I'm picking it all up in a week! The sign indicates 10am to 7pm business hours. They were open when I arrived after 10am for service. Not a way to do business.

I took four uniform skirts and two uniform jumpers to the Basic Tailor Shop for alterations a few days ago. I generally do a lot of my own sewing and alterations but I didn't want to work on this particular uniform fabric because I do not own a serger. I picked the uniforms up today and all six items were perfect. Both jumpers were immaculately altered to the point that I had to take a second look to be sure they had actually had been taken in. The price was very reasonable for the amount of work done and it just took a few days. I'm so glad I found this place! read more

Very affordable, low cost. Really efficient and quick service, they had the waist of my pants taken in within a week for $15. They are also very nice and friendly. They get right to the point and don't waste your time or try to sell you anything extra. Very honest and hardworking people, I can't imagine anyone having an issue. The parking is kind of weird but it's totally okay, I just park in front of the açaí bowl place. There seem to be only two gentleman who work here and they sit in this tiny shop every day for hours laboring under piles of clothing. I have a lot of respect for a small business like this! They told me they weren't able to do something I requested and I really appreciate that I was able to return the garment to the store rather than if they had been money hungry and then ruined the garment trying to do what I asked lol I hope everyone supports this shop and the two kind gentlemen who work here! :) read more

I never rate low. The 2 men who work at this location don't greet you, and show no interest in their work. They lost my order and did nothing to compensate me. I would never recommend this shop. I'm currently leaving empty handed, without a suit for a wedding that I'm in. Terrible place to go to. read more

Went in to get my pants re-hemmed because one of the legs came undone. The man was in the middle of another project and stopped to help me immediately. Had the pant leg re-hemmed in about 5-8 minutes. When I asked him how much, he said not to worry about it. Definitely a nice guy who does great work. Highly recommend read more

This place isn't well-rated on yelp but every time I was in the area, the store had an uncanny charm to me as a pedestrian peering in. The opportunity arose when I had a large pile of clothes I needed simple alterations for and this was a really convienent location from my house. Here is what I brought in: pencil skirt, with a ripped 3 inch seam in the back wool maxi skirt, I wanted 2 buttons added wool midi pencil skirt, a nearly unnoticeable ripped front seam casual trousers, a few stitches were missing at the hem but it was enough that the owner insisted on re-hemming entirely trench coat, with a front pocket that was becoming unstitched As you can see, very simple alterations. The total was $15 to alter everything. That is so affordable to me! The gentleman who greeted me didn't talk much but was very friendly. I'd definitely come back here for less complicated tailoring needs, I have another store I trust for heavy duty reconstruction. Although, from the garments I got back the craftsmanship is exceptional. read more

A brand new white lined pencil skirt from Nordstroms needed hemming. PREpaid $15 on Wednesday March 15, pick up Saturday. I picked it up today. He gave me the wrong stub, had no mark that I Paid, did not even have my name! I noticed upon leaving with the skirt, after much todo, there was a LARGE DIRT STAIN in the front, and a dirty mark near the front hem. He replied it was THERE already. Let me tell you, I had never worn this brand new skirt. I have the garment at an expensive cleaners today, and I pray this whatevertheheckitis stain comes out. WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS SHOP. DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. read more

I've gone to a couple of places to get a myriad of things tailored. The tailors here have been the best so far. They have done the best and most professional job of making my bootcut jeans into skinny jeans for a reallllly good price. They've patched rips on my favorite jeans, fixed a backpack with a ripped strap, and sewn a rip on my nice shirt. They've always done a fantastic job within a reasonable time at a great price. read more

Seems cool or like a tailor place supposed to look like BUSY. dropped off my Jeans today 1-15-15 and pick up is 1-22-15 not sure if they are that busy or something but I'm just making my jeans a bit shorter that's it. I went to this shop to tailor my bridesmaid dress. It was my first time here so I wasn't sure how things would go. The guy at the counter (I assumed it was the owner) wasn't friendly when I asked for help but I went ahead with the tailoring anyway. He said my dress would take 1 wk to finish. When I came by to pick up my dress a week later I was very pleased! The dress was done exactly how I wanted. I wasn't expecting much since some viewers on Yelp said they would not come back to this place. Well, not for me because I'll definitely come back! read more

My experience with this shop was disapponting. 1) The alterations were not finished in the time specified, because someone went on vacation. If I was told that before I would've been fine, but wasn't told and made a trip I didn't need to make. 2) Pants were still too long after initial alterations. I questioned him as he was measuring me because it looked too long, and he said that it was perfect. When I tried it on it was still too long by about a half inch or so. 3) when I had them redo the pants they made it too short. Same situation, different tailor, I I told him I think it looks too short. I'm not sure if he understood what I was saying, so I kept trying to tell him I think it was too short, he said he thought it was okay. Nope, was too short. Had to have them redo it again. 4) when I asked for the redo on the alteration, the person who I believe is the owner kind of scolded me and said next time don't tell me this is too long. I told you the length of ok when you first came in. & I tried to explain to him that the other person working there agreed that it was too long. And he wouldn't listen to me. I just told him I'm not here to argue I just would like it taken care of. 5) I had some work done on a jacket and the work was not done successfully. One of the measurements was off and I had to have them redo that too. 6) even had a simple cold I just needed to be mended in a shirt. When I came in to pick up the whole batch of alterations that mending had not yet been done, the good news is they did it very quickly in the store and they did it really well. But was just disappointed that it wasn't done before I came and tried to pick it up. I will say, that the people who came in while I was trying on pants and getting the work done all seemed to love the place, and were very complimentary, so maybe your experience would be different from mine. But for me I'm going to look for another alteration person in Fountain Valley Huntington Beach area. read more

I've gotten jeans hemmed here. It's cheap but nothing that great. I'd rather go to a different place.

I brought a dress to Basic Tailor for a simple hem. When I picked up the dress in 5 days it was marked and cut but not hemmed which I didn't discover till I got home. I immediately returned to the shop and explained the problem. I was asked to come back but said I would wait for the job to be completed as this would have been 4 trips to get a simple job done. I have used Basic Tailor several times in the past so I was very surprised and angry at this blunder. read more
