We bought a headlight for our Nissan Titan from Nissan's official parts website for over $1,300, and it was sent to Mike Barney Nissan for fulfillment. After my husband removed the old headlight, he found that one of the clips on the new one was already broken out of the box. Since the old light was already out, he superglued the clip just so he could finish the installation. When he finished installing the new light and turned it on, he saw fingerprints sealed inside the lens that couldn't be cleaned because they were under the plastic cover. He drove to the dealership to show them the problem, but the parts manager, Mark DeAngelo, wouldn't even look at it. He said the only option was to exchange it and complained that he didn't understand why their dealership was handling Nissan's online orders, which made it clear he didn't want to deal with the issue. When I called, he said he didn't know what we wanted and told me we shouldn't expect any credit since we "got a good deal" on the part. His only offer was to have someone drive another headlight to our house, but that still meant my husband would have to uninstall and reinstall the entire headlight again, a job that takes several hours and risks damaging the truck. Later, they even said they "weren't going to do the labor for free," even though we never asked them to, we were explaining that reinstalling it ourselves would take hours and leaving the truck there wasn't an option. When I asked for his boss's name and phone number, he refused to give it at first and made me go back and forth with him for several minutes before finally providing it. I emailed the general manager, Jerome Masters, but the parts manager's boss, Adam DiFelice, responded instead. He said the fingerprints were caused by my husband, which is impossible because they're inside the sealed lens. He also repeated that an exchange was the only option. The general manager never replied. The way this dealership handled everything was unprofessional and dismissive from the start. Instead of trying to help or find a reasonable solution, they just kept pointing to the warranty and repeating the same answer. The clip came broken and the fingerprints were clear manufacturer defects, not our fault, and we felt it was completely reasonable to ask for a partial credit since reinstalling wasn't a fair or practical solution. If Nissan is going to make it so the entire headlight unit has to be replaced and charge over $1,300 for the part, they should at least make sure the part is free from defects before sending it out. I had to make a Yelp Account this place is so incompetent. I purchased a car from this location back in May and ever since then it has been a total nightmare. Within the first month of owning the car, I was experiencing engine failure. Every single time I would stop at either a red light or a stop sign, the car would completely turn off, and I would have to remove and re-insert the key to reignite the engine and get the car operational again. After bringing the car in to see what the issue is, it would take them 3 months to get the repairs done. Meanwhile providing me with a rental car in its place as the car was being repaired. After receiving the car back, it ran normally up until 2 weeks ago when I was forced to pull over on the side of the highway due to an alert for an overheating engine. After further inspection, there was a significant coolant leak coming from my cars engine. After bringing it in again to have it looked at, I was told it would take around 1.5 hours to fix it. That number was completely off; I got there at 11 AM and was there until 4 PM. To put the cherry on top, once I was informed the repair was complete, I was immediately stopped and told that it is still leaking coolant and would have to left at the dealership. I was told that the repair should be done the following day. Fast forward to the next day, I call them to ask what time I should come in to pick up my vehicle. Immediately I am told that it was not ready and that I would be fixed over the weekend and be ready by Monday. Are we serious??? I was clearly told by LEON in the service department that it would only take a day to fix and then I have JOSH on the phone telling me "I was clearly indicated that it would be ready on Monday." There is zero connection or communication between departments and an overall lack of respect to any person willing to spend money there. It is so clear they really only car about taking your money and don't care about safety or condition of the vehicles they sell. GREG in sales has been the only communicative person in the entire establishment, and I appreciate all that he is done to make right by this situation. Seriously avoid this place. I am so thankful that I purchased the warranty on my car as I am not having to pay for all these repairs that would've costed me upwards of $6,000 alone. December 1, 2025 My experience here last week was horrible! I have been a customer here for at least 11 years and have leased at least 3 cars from this dealership. I have been bringing all my cars here for service over the years. Last week, I went there to get my oil changed and was told that one of the front axle seals was leaking. The service department recommended getting this fixed at this time, which I authorized (I was given an estimate for this service). After 1 hour, I was told that there was an issue because of the way that Nissan builds this vehicle, that the bolt on the seal part on the axle was hard to get off but they would keep working on it. 3 hours later, I'm told that they were able to remove the bolt but in the process, they stripped the threads off the screw and that they couldn't put the bolt back on due to the stripped screw. I was then told that I had to get a whole new axle which would be about $900 or so. At this point, there was nothing that I could do because the car was not able to be driven. Since it was so late in the day and they didn't have the part, they had to have it shipped overnight and that they would fix the car the next morning. One of the service guys (didn't get a name) said that they would "help" with the total bill how ever that they could. I complained that I was supposed to be driving back to Massachusetts that day but now I was stuck for another day, which also meant that I missed a day of work. When I picked up the car, I was charged a total of $1365.65 for the right axle and oil change! I was given a whole $100 discount! This is quite ridiculous in my opinion. The service department never once took ownership of what they did (which was break the threads on the screw so that I needed a whole new part) and just kept saying it was the way the car was build. Well, I wasn't the one that touched the car and broke it; the service department was! And if they knew that this was an issue with this type of car, then they should have been more careful and more upfront with me about it. I will never go to this dealership again for any type of work or when in need to buy a new car. This Nissan location used to be excellent but since it got bought out and has new ownership, their service has really gone downhill. I do NOT recommend this place for any type of service and I will not be going back here again. read more

They couldn't find anything wrong with my car to up charge me so they say my windshield wipers need to be replaced or they won't pass it because they know for a fact I won't leave to replace them on my own and reschedule to come back another time . At the end of my car lease, I went in to see my options. The sales person was trying their best to push me towards leasing again or buying a used, probably because they wouldn't get their commission if I just purchased the car. They would go to the magic man in the back, come back with a piece of paper of the best they could do, and then just place it in the table, with zero explanation as to what I was looking at. Although I dreaded it, I found myself shopping for a new to me vehicle and decided to stop in here because I'd seen a vehicle online that seemed to fit my needs. Absolutely terrible communication. I purchased a car November 4th, the same day I noticed a new creak while driving that was not heard during test drive. The day after, my coolant light came on, the day after that the check engine light. After bringing the car back to the dealer Monday November 7th, I was told everything was fine and the shop tried giving me my car back. When I insisted on going for a test drive with a tech, they heard the creak, saw the coolant and check engine light and insisted they would get it fixed. This was frustrating because before I signed for the car, I had asked MULTIPLE TIMES about any parts on the car that are going or any maintenance issues that would soon be due that the garage saw during its time passing through. Each time I asked I was told, " the car passed NYS inspection, that's all I really know." My vehicle sat at mike Barney Nissan from that Monday until the next week when it was finally brought to an outside garage. I had called the garage multiple times for an update on what was wrong with the car, he had told me a ball joint was completely out of place (which does not pass NYS inspection) and that the rest of the front ball joints were dry rotted and on their way to also slipping out. I had attempted to called Steve the used car manager at mike Barney multiple times before finally getting through to him instead of his voicemail which was full. Steve was willing to fix the one ball joint and had a rude attitude when I brought up the other dry rotted ones that were on their way out saying, "well do you want me to fix the ball joint or not." Finally we came to a conclusion to split the cost of a full front ball joint kit. After 5 weeks, I finally got my car back on December 8th. From November 14th up until this point, Mike Barney provided me with a courtesy car (thanks). However as soon as I got in my newly fixed car, a check engine light came on as I pulled out of the parking lot. When I returned back immediately, I was told that they would follow up with me the next day. Five minutes after I left, they texted me to go back to the garage that did the work and have them read the code. After driving 30 miles to visit the garage, I'm notified the light could be on due to low fuel (which I had filled to half tank AFTER the check engine light came on in the parking light) or that the fuel injectors need to be fixed which is $686. He reset the code to see if the light was a fluke, 3 days later, Monday December 12th, the light turned back on. When I texted my salesman he told me they would help out if it was inexpensive (which by the way, the 30 day/1000 mile dealer warranty that covers the engine does not state the dealer would only pay up to a certain amount), when I told him what the garage told me the issue was I never got a reply. I then called to speak with a salesman about the issue and was told that Steve the finance manager would decide if they would cover it or not. Now three days later and after a few more attempts to call for an update I am still driving on a check engine light without a reply. I have been sold a car that should not have passed NYS inspection due to a ball joint being out of the socket completely, and am now being ignored for trying to get a check engine light, that came on the third day in my ownership of the car, over a month later. Be very cautious buying used cars at this dealership as they do not put time into their used cars, do not disclose information, and once you buy the car you are left COMPLETELY on your own. read more

I feel almost feel bad writing a poor review for this dealership because they seemed to have a decent selection of cars (that I did not get to see) and the counter girl was very professional, BUT, then I spoke to Joe in sales for about two minutes. Joe instantly interrupted me when explaining what type of car I was seeking. Joe seemed annoyed I even wanted to look at a car, as if he was too busy doing better things back sitting at his desk. I let it go until Joe asked if i would be paying in cash or not. I responded "It depends", because... it depends. Recently took my vehicle in for a rattle in the front end and an oil change. I mentioned to the service desk person that I recently purchased new tires and the pressure sensors were not functioning correct and to please check the sensors. The rattle was diagnoised as sticking brake calipers but there was not mention of the sensors. Based on good pervious experiences, I approved them to work on the brakes, $500. When I picked up the vehicle and asked about the sensors the desk person wasn't sure but that the brakes were repaired. On my drive home the rattle was worse than when I dropped the car off. Second trip to the service department, they finally confirmed the tire sensors were loose and it would be another $200 to replace the sensors. At this point I knew I was being taken advantage of because I already told them that they were new tires. I company that installed the tires reinstalled the existing sensors free of charge. When I questioned the service manager he stated that the brake pads were in the yellow and they would typically recommend them to be replace at that point. I pointed out that I was told the calipers were the issue and they only replaced the pads and rotors. They were not even consistent with their story. As an offer of restitution I received a certificate for a free oil change in the mail. I gave this certificate to my mother in-law and when she had her oil changed guess what! They recommended that her brakes needed to be replaced. Surprize!!! Never going back to Mike Barney Nissan even for brakes! read more

We own a 2008 Nissan Rogue. At 124,000 miles the CVT broke and left my daughter stranded on the interstate in May. At Mike Barney's recommendation we took the vehicle to Continental Transmission. Continental purchased a NEW factory transmission from Nissan through Mike Barney. It has a 12,000 mile warranty direct from Nissan. In late August it began to act just like the old one did before it failed. Continental ran diagnostics and determined it was already breaking. They took it to Make Barney so they could verify the failure and authorize the replacement. It is now mid-October and it is still waiting for Mike Barney's service department to look at it. Come on. Really?? We need our car back, you idiots. I will never buy another vehicle with a Continuously Variable Transmission. I will never have anything to do with Mike Barney Nissan again. I am going to post this and then call my attorney. My lawsuit will include legal fees and the inconvenience of being without our car. I've been getting my vehicles serviced with MBN for the past 6 years, and I've always been very pleased with the service I have received. My service advisor (Gary or Jill) are also extremely friendly, and customer focused. They don't push extra services or parts you don't need like other dealerships, and are always solution oriented to help fix problems in a cost effective, but also safe manner. Their customer waiting area has free pop and coffee which make waiting for my car to be done even better. I've had multiple shuttle rides with Kevin and he is extremely pleasant to talk with, and goes out of his way to make sure he drops you off as close as possible to your front door or office. read more

Then the order showed that it "might" cost additional shipping, due to oversize part etc. Also the shipping time "might" be up to 14 days now instead of the usual shipping time. Any additional wait, and cost was not what I agreed to. So when I questioned it in A email to them, they just cancelled the order WITHOUT EXPLANATION. We looked at several vehicles and found one of interests it was a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder fully loaded absolutely beautiful.102,000 miles on it. $15,000.00 out the door. Upon having it looked at in the service department they discovered there was a transmission code spitting out. I received the following text. Hey talking to Steve and our service department. The Pathfinder will pass state inspection. I do have have some good news and bad news though. Bad news is the transmission is spitting out a code. The good news is that the car is fine, but there is only one way to get rid of the code and that is replacing the transmission. The transmission is working fine and we are more than willing to let you take it to any transmission shop or mechanic to get it looked at. Also, for any inconvenience we will sell it to you for $14,500 Out the door everything included. My response: So who pays for it to be looked at? What is the code? His response: Our techs looked at it, we are willing to sell it. If you want a 2nd opinion it will be at your cost. P17f1 Is the code. We called a reputable National Transmission service provider. He said the code presents a costly and headache filled repair. Basically a new transmission at the cost of 3 to $4,000.00. He was surprised they were even selling it on the lot. KBB value is just over $12,000.00 . When speaking to the salesman I stated I was disappointed they would try to sell the vehicle knowing about the issue, and I objected to the fact that they are willing to sell to an unsuspecting customer. My lease is almost up and I've only had pleasant experiences from this Nissan dealership from day one. They've offered a couple complimentary check ups for my vehicle and I really appreciate that. One time I sat and waited, another the courtesy vehicle took me home and picked me back up a few hours later. The wait isn't terribly long, you just have to go at the right time (call ahead and see what's the wait). I needed a new engine air filter at the last check up and was told $32. I came back a few months later and was charged $47. Not sure why the increase, but I was leaving for a long trip and had no other options. I had my dog in the car with me, so I think they made the filter change extra quick because of that which I graciously appreciated. Staff has always been incredibly friendly, never pushy. read more

I sent this email twice and still never heard back from the GENERAL MANAGER; Good Afternoon Sir, My name is Angela Hemphill and today I paid a visit to your dealership and was greeted, treated and handle in such a way that I honestly considering never doing business there again. Here is what took place; On July 27, 2022 I came in to have an oil change on my 2015 Nissan Murano, while waiting for the oil change I went over to the parts department to place an order for a SD card, while at the counter several employees behind the counter walked by until finally I was waited on by Tim Fort, I let him know that I wanted to order the SD Card, he asked if I had the Vin number and I told him I just left from service for an oil change, he than proceeded to look up my information and came back to me with the price of what it would be to order the part, After giving it a few minutes thought I decided to place the order, he took my information and card, gave me the receipt and said it would take a week to come in, and they would call me when it does, then I asked him once it come in should I just stick is in the slot, he advised "no" and that I would need to go to service so they can install it. I went back to service to pick up my vehicle and at the moment I spoke Harry and asked him about the SD card being serviced and he advised me that it would need to be programmed before. On 08/09/22 I realized I never heard back from the parts so I made call to them @ 1:04pm, a male rep (name unknown) answered, he looked up my information and stated the part had been in and apologized that no one called to let me know, I advised the rep that I would be in to pick it up. Upon my arrival I entered the building and went up to the parts desk, there was a rep to the left of me behind the counter on a computer . I stood there for maybe 1 1/2 minutes before I was greeted a rep (name unknown)he gave me the item and proceeded to the service the department which I was greeted by Gary Arcadi, I told him that I just purchased the SD card from Parts and was told previously I needed to have it put in by service, Gary said that was not true that all I need to do was insert it and it needed to update itself, he asked that I drive my truck to the out ladies and pull up to the building. He then tried several times to assist with the card but came to the conclusion that it won't work since there maybe something wrong with the radio as it kept giving him error codes. He gave me back the SD card with the packaging and apologized for not being able to assist me further, I asked can I get this refunded and he said he don't know because he does not work in parts, so I went back into parts, and was assisted by Wes DiChriatima, I explained to him what took place and that it was not an issue with the card but for some reason it was not working right with my radio, Wes went over to the left side behind the counter and began havejnf a conversation with the other reps one being Gary which he explained to Wes and the others what had taken place with the card. At that moment one of the reps said to Wes "it's your call buddy on weather you refund it", Wes came back to counter and said he manager (Mark DeAngelo, who literally walked right by a few seconds earlier) was on break and I would have to wait about 10 minutes or so for him to come back so he could approve the refund. Now here is where the level of egregiousness takes place: Wes returns with the part in his hand and says that his manger is not approving the return and that when I placed the order I was told by the rep Tim that it was a non returnable part and that the manager was right next to him when he told me, That was not true at All. I advised Wes I that never happened and he asked if I would like to speak with the manger, I said yes. When I walked back up to the counter the was another guy at the counter and he was smiling, I said hello are you the manager, he laughed and said he which he was and walked away, Mark came out of an office and said instantly said he was standing next to Tim when he told Me it was not refundable, I disagreed with and said no one was standing next to him and then he said well he was off to the side, I humbly disagreed with him again, and Said that I would not of agreed to purchase the part if could not bring it back if i thought it did not work, his responded by saying he can't take parts back just becuase oeople think they may not work, he approach and respond was very aggressive. So then I humbly said to him I heard the other reps tell Wes that the acceptance of the return was his call, well Mark's response to that was What was said was incorrect and that yes he does have the authority to approve refunds but for this item he only orders 1 or 2 every few months and just can't take it back, I said this was so unfair and that I been coming to Mike Barney for my vehicles, he said don't even know if Nissan will even take back. Over the years I've purchased or leased a Sentra, an Altima, a Maxima, and two Rogues from Mike Barney Nissan and my husband has leased a Rogue and a Pathfinder from there as well. Phenomenal service, everything is laid out and explained to you, and we've never had a problem with one vehicle. My Rogues have been amazing in bad Buffalo winter driving and leave me more than enough space for groceries and a car seat. I've heard horror stories from friends about other dealerships and I've experienced nothing but excellent service for 15 years solid. read more

It's a shame that 2 reviews, most likely one by a sock puppet, can take the rating for Mike Barney Nissan down so far. After the lease on my Rogue was up, I contacted Mike Barney because of the great service I experienced here in the past. Since I leased out of state, I never had a "home" dealership here. Joe Grimaldi contacted me to figure out my next move. Joe was great from start to finish. He looked into all options, helped me find the price point I wanted, and was very helpful. I recommend doing business with him! I like no nonsense business dealing. I have no problem being decisive and usually know what I want. So I appreciate doing business with someone who can accommodate that. I had originally considered leasing a JUKE but after test driving one, I decided it wasn't for me. It's too small for me and has too many unnecessary bells and whistles that I didn't care for, but a driving/racing enthusiast might. So I decided to go back to the Rogue, which had been a great car for me! The nice thing about looking for cars close to the year end is that you can get GREAT deals on "last year's" model. I got a great lease with nothing down for $100 less per month than what I would have paid for a new 2014 Rogue (they are redesigned for this year). It's only a few dollars more than what I was paying before. My new ride is a 2013 but had 3 miles on it. And it was the color I originally wanted 4 years ago (Bordeaux Black). They threw in Bluetooth so I get to play around with that feature and can plug my iPhone right into the console to synch my iTunes. I will most definitely be back to see Joe at lease end for my next Nissan. And I look forward to going there for service. See my original review for details on their great service department! Being a Senior I am not trusting of Dealerships Period ! Went to Mike Barney's on a cold sleeting evening 1/16/2020 with a broken windshield arm .I have had this problem several times on my Nissan Rogue before. The service people would fix the screw and I would be on my way . This time Service Advisor Robert Stanek put me in a loaner and told me he would get to the bottom of this reoccurring issue with my wiper arm.So happy with his kindness and professional manner in the way he assure me that my car would be taken care of . The next morning 8am he called me and told me what was being done to my car and when it would be ready. Thankful for Rob ! My go to service advisor. read more

I love my Nissan Altima as I have had three so I do love the car. I bought the third one at Mike Barney and the salesman was great and I really enjoyed that experience; however when service was needed not as great of an experience. They rebuilt my CVT transmission that was under warranty and then it started shaking and steering hard left at high speeds. Took it back and they wanted to charge for me work they should have made sure was good prior to returning to me. It was not like that before they got it but they did not believe me. They wanted me to pay for something that's for sure. I took it elsewhere for the alignment and I will not be returning there. Very disappointed. read more

The experience started off horrible, Garrett Costanzo was horrible, rude, and he screwed up my daughter's deal at least 3 times if not more. Unfortunately you don't know how your customer service policies until they are needed. Mark Zogaria followed through, fixed the problems, and made it right. Avoid Mike Barney at all costs . I brought my 2013 Nissan Juke into Mike Barney service department for a New York State inspection . During that time they supposedly completed a multipoint inspection where they check your oil. A few weeks later after the inspection and "multipoint inspection" I start hearing a noise in my engine . I immediately bring my car back in. They tell me a few days later the noise I'm hearing is the turbo in my engine and also there is no oil in the engine and there are signs of sludge. My next immediate question to the service agent Tony is how is this possible if you guys just checked it. He responded " I'm not quite sure ." He then tells me that i need to provide all my oil change receipts for Nissan to honor my warranty . I provide him what documentation I have and several days later he calls and tells me that Nissan has denied my warranty and it will be 15 thousand for a new engine. I immediately call Nissan and ask them why the claim was denied . They tell me Because of the sludge in the engine. I asked if Mike Barney provided any of the documentation I gave them or provided them with the info that my car was in 400 miles prior and the oil was checked then and had no issues . They told me no none of that info was provided to them but there evaluation is final and there is nothing that they can do . So I then take the next step and contact the service manage Gary. He tells me i need to contact Nissan . I ask him why they didn't provide them with the documentation I had including the multipoint inspection i had done. He continued to disregard this . I ask him if you checked the oil 400 miles prior and it was good how is this not sufficient evidence that there is a major issue with my engine . He then tells me we probably didn't check it or we checked the wrong box . I tell him that you guys must be held accountable for that . He starts screaming at me asking me to bring there rental car back . I told him that I would take it of joe the president . I email joe the president of Mike Barney . He immediately gets back to me and refers me to his gm Steve . Steve emails me a few hours later and apologizes for the situation and says that we can meet up Friday to discuss the situation and go over all the facts . Thursday afternoon I get an email from Steve that says he discussed it with his service guy and that the issue is that I did not provide him enough documentation . I email him back and tell him although I do not have receipts. I do have documentation of where I received my oil changes . I also repeat my self again about the multipoint inspection and how the oil was checked then . He then proceeds to continue to send me nasty emails . I tell him I'm at work and I thought we were going to meet and discuss this Friday . He then emails me and is upset I wrote a nasty Facebook post about Mike Barney. As long as Mike Barney continues to disregard there negligence I will continue to get the word out . Don't have your car serviced there ! Don't buy Mike Barney Nissan ! Update :2019. nissan now admits the transmissions were defective in a class action lawsuit and will now have to pay back people cost of repairs. Justice will finally be served read more

I have a 2010 Nissan that I took to get inspected at AAA auto repair and was told I needed a new sub frame and I should get it done soon because it was dangerous. I decided to take it to Mike Barney to have them look at it because my husband bought a car there 2 years ago and was very happy with their service. They looked at it and called me to say my sub frame was fine. I did need some work done to pass inspection but the cost was nothing compared to what I would have paid at this other place for unnecessary work. I was SO happy with the guy at the service desk and with the honesty of the employees. I have been ripped off before at other places and I will tell you this is where I will go from now on.
