The food was amazing!!! I grabbed to-go and received excellent service!!! The sushi was pretty amazing says my son. I had ordered steak hibachi and man o man..... it was pretty dag on good. It was so cute in there, definitely a vibe. We went during lunch so it was not busy at all. Must try!!!!

Lamb chops! Wonderful. Must try. A staple of downtown Brunswick.

We have been coming here for 10 years and love the atmosphere and food. T.C., the owner, does a lot of the cooking and visits with us every time he can.

The atmosphere here is very laid back. We had a group of 10 and our waiter did a amazing job. We really wanted to try the fried oyster roll, but they were out of oysters. So we started with the spider roll that had soft shell crab inside. The roll was really good. It was a hard decision between the Pad Thai or the Thai Curry. So I went with the Thai Curry and it was full of favor.

Best pho ever. I go to Basil and want to eat something else but always go back to the beef Pho!!! Even on a hot night I need it! My hubby had pork. Both meals delicious!

Went here early on a Friday evening with a party of 12. Nice ambiance, though the seating left something to be desired with regard to comfort. Had a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer, which was mediocre (Fancy Q on the island is much better). Did the Thai fried rice as my main course, which was good, but not great--it wasn't the most flavorful, though the pineapple was somewhat unique. While the owner or manager (not sure which) checked on us a few times and provided free shots for one member of the party who was celebrating a birthday, overall, the service was extremely slow, and it took almost an hour just to get our checks, which our server had to redo multiple times in order to ensure each individual's check was correct. In fact, the service was so slow that another party came in well after we were seated, ate their meal, departed, their table was cleaned, and another party seated and served at that table before we were done. While I'm sure large parties aren't the easiest to deal with, especially with separate checks, it felt excessive to be stuck in the restaurant for some 2 hours and 45 minutes for a simple meal (and we didn't even have dessert!). While I might give this place another shot, it would not be high on my list of local eateries.

Thai food in the Golden Isles is hard to come by. Thankfully, there is this place! In the gentrifying downtown area of Brunswick is where you'll find this hot spot. Open everyday but Monday, this is a great option. The wine list is impressive. I enjoyed a glass of Estancia from Paso Robles , CA on my first visit. For a mere $9! There are also cocktails and non alcoholic beverages as well. My husband had the Tom Yum. He rated it a 5/5 and was very happy. He got the fried rice and asked for a spice level of 7. It was pleasantly spicy. Another 5/5. He plans to do a 9, next time. We are spicy eaters! I got the Pad Thai. It was perfect except in all ways except it was the blandest Thai I've ever had. I did get chili flakes and poured a ton on. Still nothing. I added the chili garlic sauce after that which gave it heat but not quite right for Pad Thai. I plan to ask for basil in my Thai next time and that should do it. If you know, like really *know* Thai food, I highly recommend talking to you server. We had a fabulous server who when I go back, I know what to ask for exactly in terms of spice. I strongly recommend this gem no matter your experience with Thai food. We did not try the sushi but I'm confident it's good too. You'll be happy you stopped in when you're in town next! See website for hours and location. The menu is not current as of 12/2021 but pretty close. Also, if the owner is reading this - it's Philly not 'Phili' roll. My Philadelphia born husband begs you to fix that. ;)

Comfortable seating in a surprisingly large space with a bar. Friendly and attentive service with a smile. Our meal was very hot and fresh: my vegetable stir fry with tofu was perfectly cooked so the veggies were colorful and firm, and my spring rolls were super crisp; Hubby's pad Thai was a generous portion and not too sweet, which is rare for pad Thai. Highly recommend!

Let's start off with my fiancée's prompt take on this restaurant "I'm excited, excited to leave." This was a super good and super bad experience all at once. We were a bit deceived by the name "Basil", it gave off as Italian feel. We went with it and like the decor and feel of the interior. We were seated quickly and the waiter took our drink order. We waited for his return but he apologized. We received our appetizers and waited again, this time for drinks. Here's where it gets ridiculous. I ordered squid salad (10.95) and he ordered seaweed salad (7.95). The look on my face said it all, IT WAS ONE BITE ON A PLATE!! The words "hell no" left my lips. At least our drinks arrived soon after, I needed one. We also got the steamed dumplings that were very good. I ordered the coconut soup and he ordered the spicy tuna roll. My soup was amazing with fresh veggies and tofu. His tuna roll was a bit odd with jalapeños. It was like the Mexican version of a spicy tuna roll. Once we got the bill ($68 with tip for LUNCH) we were out. We really debated on 2 stars because we're are NEVER going back. 3 stars for the great soup, drinks and dumplings. Overall....try at your own risk and money just DO NOT get the salad

Unsure why I've always stuck with Thai food on the island, because Basil was very delicious!I would certainly recommend. The prices were a bit steep especially with the size per serving but it tasted great.

The service was excellent! My Husband and I got Dragon Roll & Shrimp Hibachi with Noodles

Very good drinks, the blood orange martini is my fav, but sometimes inconsistent. Good place to try something different.

I haven't had any sushi from a business that features the word "Sushi" in its name for at least 6…read moremonths. So, my friend suggested this little nook in a strip mall, and I lauded her brilliant and perceptive mind. We arrived at 5:30pm and were promptly seated at the sushi bar, which made me happy. I always like to watch the dexterity, creativity, and the masterful style of the Itamae. In this case, he was a man in his early 50's, wearing his regalia with great dignity and his hands moved surely with lightning speed. His intense gaze would occasionally flicker to his sides as he gauged the progress of his apprentices. I ordered a standard tuna roll for my appetizer, to check out their presentation of the simplest of rolls and the freshness of the ingredients. Then I ordered a red snapper teriyaki dinner. I must add here that I am half-Japanese, with a tiny little Okasan who kept me, her #1 child and son, collared up tightly. I do know what home cooking Ala Japonaise is supposed to taste like and what a traditional presentation is supposed to look like. What I received was spot on. The portion of red snapper was extravagant, with just the right amount of char on the skin. The waitstaff were politely present. My only grumbles are the watery broth in the obligatory soup and the quite insistent, though polite, hovering of staff to get us out so that the next diners could be seated. Considering that we were only there 20 minutes, soup to finish, I felt that we weren't lingering overlong.

Highly recommended! The food was great! The escolar was frozen but everything else was amazingread more
