One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. They are Greek and active with the Greek festivals. Pizza is awesome, not your run-of-the -mill pizzas. The dough is not mushy nor no flavored, bakes so nice and chewy, not soggy. Sauce is not overly herbaled but can actually taste the tomatoes, so good. I always ask for more sauce to dip the pizza bone in. Yum! Freshest ingredients that puts them above other pizza places in the neighborhood. Good variety on the menu as well as Greek specialties, soulvaki is always calling me. Lol. Plus there are specials like the bucket of spaghetti, salad & drinks. Easy & a good price. Had seen all the good reviews, and gave them a shot. Very disappointed, a mediocre pie all around. Probably could've been cooked a little more, sauce was very bland and the there wasn't very good. They discretely have a sign posted on the counter that credit card transactions incur a 3.5% surcharge, but don't mention it on the menu. I rarely carry cash on me, so it would be a problem if I was a regular. read more

HANDS DOWN OUR FAVORITE PIZZA PLACE IN RHODE ISLAND. We cannot say enough good things about Basils!. We love the pizza, the wing dings... the staff is amazing! We have been going here for years now. Their Italian grinders are awesome, so I wanted to try their pizza. Today, I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, calling ahead so it would be ready when I got there to eat it. Well, the pizza was the highlight of my day, and I was already having a good day. It was one of the best pizzas I've ever had! All the ingredients blended together nicely - no one thing dominated the flavor. For example, I could taste a hint of garlic (which I've never been able to say of any other pizza I've eaten), but the garlic did not detract from the other ingredients. Rather, it complemented everything else. You could tell the ingredients and toppings were high quality; the pepperoni was not greasy. The best part of this awesome pizza was the crust - it was thick, yet crispy and airy (they use a special pizza pan). I ate the entire pizza. It satisfied my large appetite, and I did not feel bloated or have even the slightest hint of heartburn. The cheese was nice and pully (is that even a real adjective? I don't know). On a Saturday night, called around 8 PM. Wanted 2 orders of plain wings, woman over the phone said she can only do 1 order of plain and 1 order of buffalo... okay. After picking up the one order of wings, fries and a large pizza, i notice the woman in the back said $25. Then the gentleman comes to the front with the food and aggressively punches in numbers again and again in a calculator (as if the calculator was the problem) then all of a sudden spits out the number of $28 and change... every time i come its a different price. Pizza should not be this expensive, i dont care how good it is. This is a rip off and shady family owned businesses think they can get away with it. It's probably how they rack up enough money for that vacation to greece they go to every summer for months. I also think their fried chicken is very tasty, with a nice crispy batter on the outside and juicy, tender chicken inside. I have going here for years. Over the past year, the owners have become super rude and miserable. I do not know what the heck happened. They say 20 minutes an order will be ready 40 minutes later it is still not ready and the older lady very rude says you just called etc. No one was wearing masks. We are in a pandemic people. Absolutely deplorable customer service. We recently moved to another location in Cranston, 3.5 miles away and 12 minutes. When we called to ask of the estimated wait time (after waiting for an hour and a half), a so called "Joanne" Asked me "why i wouldnt just pick the order up if i lived so close?" EXCUSE ME?! I've been coming to Basil's Pizza for 17 years and my husband ever since he was a child with his parents, he's 38 y/o now. They are great people very humble, they all know their customers from the owners to the delivery guy great people! Their pizzas are yummy love the dough that they use for the crust and their pizza sauce it's perfect for our taste not acidy.
