I'm surprised nobody has helped us place yet and it's been open for about a year. Personally I feel like this is a strange concept store. I've never seen a liquor store used with a medical store at the same time. It sounds very counterintuitive as in for the idea of going in for medicine I suppose to help you but it sells liquor which isn't good for you unless you're really trying to numb away the pain. This store also features a UPS store. The staff here wasn't too friendly either just from walking in. The liquor store portion is actually pretty minimal. The selection doesn't compare to an average liquor store either I was assuming that this place would be almost like a Binnys. Also featured here are equipment for health like canes, wheelchairs, various medicines. You can even find snacks and Munchies that you can find at any convenience store too. The location isn't the safest either just because of the sketchy Hotel behind it. Selection is minimal on snacks , overall I was not a fan of the store. read more

I went in the Basingers across the street from the old one and it's nothing more than a huge liquor store. It's sad to see the old one go. I grew up in that neighborhood and it was very friendly and convenient like I said the new one is a total joke. I went to buy a stamp and they said I have to buy a whole page for 20 bucks. please do not order from them and have it delivered. i paid over the phone for my grandchild nebulizer machine and it has not been delivered. i was told it would be at my address at a certain time and it never showed up. then i was told some one signed for it that didn't happen. i checked my doorbell camera and it shows no activity that someone/anyone dropped her machine off. poor service.. i called back 15 times as the woman suggested after she sent a email to show me a signature i ever saw. all i'm getting is the run arounds. the prompts are in spanish now at first it wasn't. please stick with walgreens or cvs. i'm only giving them 1 star because i couldn't post without it read more

Went today for a Covid19 vaccine. I worked for Mr. Basinger when I was a teen. I haven't been to the store since he sold it, but OMG! He must be rolling in his grave! The store was filthy! After filling out 6forms, with personal info, the guy in charge told us they couldn't bill our insurance! For a free vaccine! Something fishy going on at this pharmacy!!!! While waiting for someone to wait on me, I could not help but overhear the pharmacist's phone conversation as he was screaming at some on the phone. I cannot repeat the language he used when he hung up because it is not proper but the entire store could hear him yelling it! And I still had to wait because my refill was not ready! THIS IS A SCAM AND A FRAUD BUSINESS!!!Absolutely the worst pharmacy to go. Doctor sent prescriptions in February and had confirmation they were received them the day they were sent.I went to pick up 4 times and I wasn't in the system or they said I had the wrong place. Each time calling my insurance. The Sonja (at the pharmacy) actually told my insurance (in a 3 way call) that I could come in and pay cash, for something already paid for by my insurance. In one call Sonja said they they don't have my prescription and in the same sentence she said I can get right now if I pay cash.Then said to go get them from Amazon. After confirming with insurance and my doctor they had my prescriptions, it's been charged and paid for multiple times by my insurance, I went to pick it up in April, (yah that's how long it took them to get a nebulizer and tubing for my asthma machine).The delivery ticket given to me to sign had 4 items on it and I was only picking up 1. I said where's the other items my insurance was charged. The RUDE man said you don't sign you don't get. And took the box. I call my insurance representative in the store as he cursed at me and told me to leave and go somewhere else. My insurance called them while I stood there, the man kept threatening me he was calling the police, and I'm not getting the prescription. A woman named Sonja answered the phone that had been transferred to 3 people when my insurance asked her the problem she said my prescription is ready I can pick it up anytime. My insurance,with me on the other line, told the Sonja I'm there to get it right now, what is the problem! The Sonja said oh she was here and didn't want it. (I'm still standing there trying to figure out why the man took the box that my insurance already paid for!) The man actually said in the background of the phone call here I'm not dealing with HER KIND you deal with her. A young man came out and apologized at least 5 times, I signed the paper but circled I only got the 1 item. I DONT recommend this shit hole to anyone. You don't abuse customer or your staff it's not good business and as for "my kind" Everyone is equal but I made complaints with my insurance for fraud and the better business bureau this place does not deserve to be in business when good people are going out of businesses because of the Covid situation. 1-28-19 - called and spoke to Gaby in billing at Basingers. On Saturday she told me all goes to billing and most of delay was Medicare system down. She said every day all paperwork comes from pharmacy but ours VANISHED. I told her in thinking back on Friday a young lady was trying to get her nebulizer refilled when I came into the store. The pharmacist told her she didn't exist as well. I asked her if they were selling the SS #, she was highly incensed. I have put an alert out on credit monitoring and a neighbor brought us a walker to use until I can drive 1/2 hour to get a new prescription and it will only be -30 or -40 temperature. I am so angry. On 1-25-19 at approximately 1:30 pm I walked into Basinger's pharmacy on Jefferson Street as it was closest to the doctor office. I handed the prescription for the walker along with my husbands ID, Medicare and supplement cards which they copied. They would call with price ??? NO HEAR. 1-26-19 at 3:14 I spoke to a lady at Basinger's and she cannot find any paperwork. So where are his IDs, etc. I cannot believe the service or NON SERVICE we have received and now have to call doctor on Monday for a new prescription to start all over. Absolutely no way! This place is terrible! Walk away! I have been using them since I went on Medicare last year and they have gotten nothing but worse. I ordered a refill for one of my prescriptions on a Tuesday morning by phone. Message said it would be ready by 11AM. I stopped in at 11:30 and it wasn't ready. Okay, told them "Not a problem, I'll stop back around 2PM". Came back around 3:15 and it still wasn't ready. Came back the following morning at 9:15, at 11:30, and at 2:30 AND IT STILL WASN'T 'READY'. I then waited for it and it took them 10 minutes to process it and give it to me. But 28 hours after their original promised time, I finally had my prescription. I've called in prescription refills 3 times, gotten there and they have no record of the refill request. Another 2 times I've gotten new prescriptions, went there to pick up and they couldn't find them. They have 'found' my prescription on their rack under "J" when my last name starts with "R"...because my first name starts with "J". Now I have a refill I have called for twice and it says my refill has already been ordered. I left voicemail messages both times saying please call me about this. Guess what? no callbacks. I am not going to let this rest. I'm filing a complaint with the Illinois State Board of Medical Review or whatever agency I need to because this place is horrendous, especially when it is a place frequently used by seniors who get confused enough taking medications, let alone having to deal with this kind of insanity and lack of ethics. read more

Their service is terrible. Over 2 weeks my Doctor ordered a walker for me to use post op. knee replacement surgery which is tomorrow. Yesterday we spoke to them and they said they were waiting for our HMO's approval to pay the 20% Medicare does not pick up.. We do not have an HMO we have a PPO! We had the PPO call them and clear up everything and tell them that the 20% was covered. We called this morning and was told everything was on track and the walker would be delivered today. At 3pm we called and they said they were just putting it together but they needed my height and weight and we would get it today. At 4pm we received a call that it wouldn't be ready to be delivered until tomorrow. At 4:30 we received a call that it would be delivered tomorrow and we needed to pay for the delivery and he 20% not covered by Medicare. Basingers has no regard for their patients, they never called about our supposed HMO issues, they never called to ask my height and weight.They knew they weren't going to have my walker to me prior to surgery and never called to let me know. We only found out what was going on when we called due to not receiving my walker. It's now the night before surgery and we need to find a walker for tomorrow. Basinger Pharmacy filled a Lamotrigine (Lamictal) prescription for our daughter, which was the wrong dose. The pharmacist(s) received the prescriptions and had questions before filling them, so they contacted her doctors, and because our daughter's doctors didn't return their calls right away, Basinger just filled them anyway and shipped them to our daughter's CILA. Since the meds are packaged according to day and time the meds are given, our daughter's aide only has to pop out each dose and administer it to our daughter daily. The highest dose for Lamotrigine, when prescribed for epilepsy or seizure disorders, is 500 mg daily. A competent pharmacist knows this, but it's clear that the pharmacists at Basinger aren't competent because they purposely packaged our daughter's meds with instructions to administer her 750 mg daily. She became very ill and had to go to the hospital because her aides had been unknowingly overdosing her for a number of days. I urge EVERYONE to not allow BASINGER to provide services to them. When I and our daughter's nurse contacted them they weren't apologetic in any way. Our daughter has severe autism and is non verbal, so for days she couldn't tell anyone how she was feeling. I am beyond angry and will do EVERYTHING in my power to ensure EVERYONE knows how NEGLIGENT, CARELESS, AND INCOMPETENT BASINGER PHARMACY IS! BASINGER, YOU ALL WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS. PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE AT STAKE AND THEIR HEALTH DEPENDS ON YOUR WILLINGNESS TO BE CAREFUL AMD COMPETENT. read more

Absolutely horrible owner of this pharmacy. The rudest person I've ever met. How is this business still open? Went in today to purchase a wheel chair for my father who was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. This "owner" Hariah Bhatt literally yelled at me and my mother when I asked a question about the process of purchasing a chair. Said, I dont have time for this, threw my papers at me and walked away. Unbelievable. Never seen anything like it. Also out right lied on the process to bill Medicare. Sounded very shady!!!! Why are we allowing this man in our community. So sad. I work in a medical office and deal with pharmacists and pharmacy employees on a daily basis. I am blown away by the rude behavior and this pharmacy's employees utter lack of common people skills. I cannot stress enough how infuriating it was trying to deal with these people. In my job I often call a pharmacist and ask for assistance for one thing or the other, anything to help out a patient or for us in the office for that matter. 11-11-19 Went to Silver Cross ER with breathing difficulties. 11-12-19 Still trying to get 3 orders filled: prednisone, Nebulizer, and albuterol packets for Nebulizer. A delay! Called Medicare and had three-way conversation with pharmacist who said all three will be filled and ready today. Went to pharmacy and pharmacist said only the prednisone was ready and they would call me when the other two were ready. 11-13-19 ... no call from pharmacy. Called them. Was told it was ready. Went right away to pick up order. Not ready! Pharmacist very rude. Waited about 20 minutes. Got the Nebulizer but not the albuterol. He said he didn't have an order for it and that he would call Silver Cross for a new order. I went home, waited 90 minutes, called the ER to verify he called. No call. Silver Cross asked where do I want the order sent ... I said Walgreen's. Two hours later I have my meds. What a scam this pharmacy is running. Watched and listened while the pharmacist told a customer she had to take three meds she did not order and that he would give her free a nasal prescription medicine for free.
