Once again the 1st St Baskin Robbins store was horrible tonight. It took 35 minutes to get 2 pre-packed quarts, a smoothie and a banana royal. We ordered the tropical banana smoothie and the kid made it and it came out blue. Sorry but no banana smoothie is blue. The 2nd try was almost liquid but it was at least the right color. Finally on the 3rd try another kid came over and walked him through it to get it right. Mind you they had already given my daughter the bad with the 2 quarts of ice cream so those sat on the table for 20 min while they learned how to make a smoothie. The final issue was when we got home and my wife was drinking the smoothie and she got some foreign object in her mouth from the smoothie. It's a shiny silver plastic like material that we can't figure out. You can see it in the pic. Bottom line is this is the worst B&R anywhere around. I know someone who used to work here and they said it was terrible . They said management was so bad . I guess that the manager used to talk behind other employees backs to other employees . They said she refuses to hire more than 26 employees in order to pay less than minimum wage . The cake decorator supposably runs the store but only gets paid minimum wage . I called in a cake for my dads birthday not only did they not write happy birthday on the cake/ pie but they let me pay and almost walk out the door before I realized the thing looked like it had been dropped on the floor... I asked about what happened, why the pie looked that way, she told me whoever made it made it in a larger pan than needed... she offered me a smaller, yet for the same price that looked almost identical... The place is really dirty with finger prints and smudges on all surfaces. The ice in the freezer is all stained with ice cream and 3 inches thick. When I told the server that there was garbage on the floor (3 dirty ripped napkins), he came over to look and then refused to pick it up. (I guess he thought i should do it.) So, if that is the attitude, can you imagine that the tables are sanitized after patrons use them? And now my thought is: Did he even wash his hands?! Ugh!They need a manager there. If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband and I tried to get ice cream at 9:20pm tonight. When we pulled up we saw three employees come to the door and look out. As we approached the door and went to open it it was locked. And all three employees were standing there with their back turned away from us. Your sign on your door as well as online says that you close at 10. I did not appreciate the rude and incredibly unprofessional behavior from the employees. But you can't expect too much from kids that look like they're still in high school and obviously have no manners. My suggestion is either change your hours online and on your storefront to reflect when you intend to close or hire more professional staff who take their job seriously. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. Take my advice DO NOT ORDER ICE CREAM CAKES FROM THIS BASKIN ROBBINS. They charged me over $60 for a 9 inch cake. I came in to order a few days ago and there was one person working with a big line. I waited forever and then she needed to call the owner a few times because she didn't know the prices of the cakes. She didn't write my order down correctly(I'd like to remind everyone this was a cake I selected from a photo in the store) The owner called to confirm my order on the day of pick at 2pm when I needed the cake by 5pm. It looked NOTHING like the photo! The colors were wrong, there was chunks of icing missing off the sides and gaps everywhere. The cake looked like it was made by a 5 year old. The two boys working called the owner (the cake decorator) and she told me to leave the cake there and she would refund my money. Apparently she doesn't want my business and you shouldn't give her yours either. On a side note the inside of the ice cream freezers where the barrels of ice cream sit, looked not clean. Moral of the story, the owner is terrible and I had to figure out a cake for my daughter at the last second, thank God Nob hill is right next door. read more

I am here often with my step daughter and it can be hit or miss with the service and quality, however the young man working closing this evening when we came in around 8:30 p.m. was very attentive, displayed excellent customer service skills and made our orders perfectly adhering to our specific requests and showing patience when my little one was indecisive which was greatly appreciated. I wanted to post a positive about the manager hiring the teens. She is giving them a chance to learn. I saw from my nail place that they are remodeling. I don't know why this is seen a a bad thing for our community. I would love to see adults working in an ice cream shop with low pay. I mean who else can she hire. The place can be cleaner. I agree. When I see ice cream connoisseurs or people who probably visit this habit more than once a week, bash on children it makes me sad for their empty lives that they are critical of kids In probably their first job. Do they have uniforms? If you have suggestions on a uniform you should tell the manager or supply her with some ideas. This isn't the 1950's where the ice cream parlor servers are smiling with paper hats. We live in a pretty critical and cruel world. The asian young man, high school age is awful. He has attitude and can make a simple sundae on the menu right. My favorite was when he was about to finish I said, "Oh hey, btw that's to go!" Him under his breath, "You know I really wish people would tell me this before I make it." I told him, "Or, you could save yourself the trouble and ask. You know a huge clue here is it's 8pm, I'm here by myself and ordering multiple things." This kid needs to learn customer service and attention to detail. Never had a good experience here between him and the stoner female supervisor at night who smells highly of ditch weed. Good think we don't hardly eat ice cream. Ughhh.... This location ( on 1st Street ) is the worst I've ever been to. While I've never had a problem with the employees ( they are friendly & try to do their best under the circumstances) the store itself is always dirty! Today was the worst I've seen it. Right when I walked in I could see the garage can, overflowing with garage & melted ice cream running down the sides. The floor was filthy. There were splatters of different flavor ice creams inside the ice cream case. The prep area had banana peels, hot fudge sauce, etc... all over the counter. The register area had trash and melted ice cream all over it. And there was a very long line and only one person serving customers.
