We all ordered singe or double scoops in an Oreo cone. Ice cream availability was full, taste was fresh and not the least scoops were quite generous compare to N Austin and pflugerville locations. Service was good, young girls were pleasant and polite. I needed to give them 5 stars, I checked out reviews and was surprised how low rating is for this location. I bought a birthday cake for my grandson. Hewanted a cookies and cream.cake but I grabbed the wrong flavor. The young man behind the counter was very kind and patient with me. I paid before tealizing I had gotten the wrong flavor. I had to pay a higher price for the right flavor because it was a larger cake. Feeling like a being back childhood memories, I convinced my husband to take me to the nearest baskin robins for my special ice cream treat that I had as a kid, mint chocolate chip and bubble gum on a sugar cone. Unfortunately, this location doesn't carry bubble gum ice cream, even though it's on the menu online. The staff explained that it doesn't sell well there so they don't carry it. He was nice about it and let me try other flavors. However, I stuck with my mint chocolate chip. Hubby got a combo and he was very satisfied. He had mango, Cookie Monster, and butter pecan. Wanted to treat myself after a long work week. I'm signed up for Baskin Robbins emails so I'd heard about the flavor of the month being Hidden Treasure-- dark chocolate, Carmel, and cookie ribbon. I stopped at this location mid month because I wanted to be sure they wouldn't be out or something in case it was popular. I came in and requested it and the employee said "We don't have it out at the moment." Not that they were sold out or anything, just that they didn't have it out. Why not have it out? I get that they are stored at a colder temperature in the backroom and so it couldn't be scooped immediately but maybe GET IT OUT so you don't disappoint the next dozen people who come in asking for it?? Then he suggests "similar flavors." I didn't make a special trip for some other flavor. So whatever, I just left. Tasty, delicious disappointment! Wasn't expecting to leave an ice cream shop in a WORSE mood!! Who knew I had to call ahead for the flavor of the MONTH on the 12th! I went ahead and followed up by calling the Baskin Robbins customer service line on Monday. I was informed that the manager of the location would contact me within 48hrs. Every time I go, I'm given partial scoops - this has got to be a franchise gone rogue because they are using the Jr. Scoop to give regular scoops. Another money saving tactic along with only having about 10 flavors available at any time. This trip I asked for 4 scoops and I was told that they could not do that. They tried I get a manager to find out if they could sell me 4 scoops and they couldn't locate one.... one girl came to the window with a huge trash bag to try to tell me that they could sell me two 2 scoops, or three scoops, but no extra scoop was possible. . I stopped going to this location a long time ago because they never have basic flavors and never had bananas EVER. Decide to try it again this week and they actually had bananas but no VANILLA ice cream. They also said they don't do banana royals anymore or peanut butter sundae even though they're on the menu. A Saturday night disappointment to say the least. All I wanted was an Old Fashioned, simplest item on the menu. Matthew informed my Uber driver that they were in fact sold out and that their donut inventory consisted of only chocolate or strawberry glazed. I'm on a strict diet and didn't really want to indulge in something as succulent as a strawberry glazed but the rainbow sprinkles invoked a childlike excitement I hadn't felt in years so I sprung for it. So The clerk never said ice cream sandwiches were only sold only in packages of 9. She hands them to me and says "thank you have a nice day"!. My wife and I startled by this asked, "What about our other items?". She rings it up and says it is $15 something..She said the ice cream sandwiches(really ice cream cookies) were $9.73. I said no thank you, please void those and I will take the rest. She said huffing, "There are two cars behind you and you need to get off and come inside for that!" I did not like the tone she took with me and I told her I wasn't getting off. Someone stood next to her then, and offered to bring me my other items I said ... "No, no thank you. I don't want anything now." It took that clerk maybe 45 seconds to void the transaction and give me my refund -- if I had gotten off, I really would have been angry! I like Baskin Robbins. No chocolate almond ice cream; the gold medal ribbon had what appeared to be freezer burn (though the young lady behind the counter tried to convince me it was ice from the side of the freezer that had fallen into the ice cream); slow service; sundae toppings were less than appealing. Remember when marshmallow topping was more of a thick sauce? This poor young lady was digging it out of a container and placing globs of it on a sundae. This Baskin Robbins NEVER has anything I want. I think maybe 1 out of 4 visits within a several month span they had the brownies to make a brownie sundae. It never fails. They even run out of common ice creams like cookies and cream. I don't come often, but sometimes my craving outweighs my memory of their horrible service, and I give them another chance to disappoint. I don't think I've ever been where they haven't said "sorry we're out of that". The workers are generally nice and apologetic, but I've also had run ins with rude workers and after all the nonsense of changing my order due to them not having what I wanted, getting my order wrong. The crew working were rude, ignored me the whole time I was at the ice cream counter, and continued to take orders and make orders from the drive thru instead.
