This was our first visit to Abbotts and it was pretty good. Hubby got a Mommas Cookie jar split and I got a kiddie hot fudge with peanuts. We enjoyed the treat. The employee answered all of our questions and was able to accommodate my request for a kiddie size. The store and station was clean and welcoming. Solid choice for a quick custard stop! We tried Abbott's midday on a Saturday. We took a hot minute looking over the menu and finally chose the snickers hot fudge sundae. It was topped with whipped cream, a cherry, and a lot of snickers! The hot fudge was my favorite part. If I'm in the area and need a sweet treat, I'd go back! Not sure what the other reviews are about. I went today to try it out and it was great! There was no line, service was fast and friendly. You can tell they're working out consistency and speed. I had a PB and hot fudge sundae, but I forget the name of it on their menu. The portion wasn't quite what I expected for the price but it was a nice treat and better than DQ. Our order was taken quickly but that's where it stopped bung quick. We got 2 out of 4 of our custards within about 5-6 minutes. The other two were never came until after 7 or 8 other people behind us received their orders. They had to ask, "Are y'all missing something??" I let them know that we were missing two things: Medium Boomshakalaka and a simple cup of vanilla custard. They looked through the orders and couldn't find it. They did finally make them when there were no customers left except for us. Not a great impression. The custard is creamy and good. It's sweet and mildly flavored - maybe not everyone's favorite, but we liked ours. When the young guy finally put the plain vanilla custard in a cup, after knowing we sat there waiting, he stool behind the counter and held it up, making me get up and walk back up there to get it. There was no one else in the shop. Just us. I did say to him that he could have at least brought it to us since he had forgotten our orders. He shrugged and said, "Oh. Sorry." C- Review: Abbott's Frozen Custard -- Needs Serious Work We were excited to try Abbott's Frozen Custard, but unfortunately, it missed the mark in several areas. Overall, the custard was overly sweet -- so much so that it drowned out any real flavor. The chocolate custard didn't even taste like chocolate, which was really disappointing. The waffle cone was okay, but nothing special. They didn't offer dip cones, which feels like a big miss for a custard shop. On top of that, they don't put anything -- like a malted milk ball or fudge -- at the bottom of the cone to catch drips, so you end up with a mess halfway through eating it. Basic custard shop 101. My wife's sundae was another letdown. Vanilla should taste like real vanilla bean, but this tasted more like whipped cream and a handful of nuts -- no true vanilla flavor to speak of. For the price, we expected a lot more. There's definitely potential here, but it feels like Abbott's has gotten lazy. A lot of opportunities for improvement, starting with dialing back the sweetness and focusing on real, quality flavor. read more

She laughed at me when my card declined and made a sly remark about it. when my other card went through she handed me my custard and said "it's a little wet on the back." I'm Mexican and It really disturbed me and I will not be going back. Plus, I used the card plenty of times prior and I checked my bank account and it should've worked. Spent 7$ on a SMALL chocolate thunder which is supposed to include cookie dough and melted chips... there was only 2 cookie dough pieces in the entire cup and the chocolate custard tasted like vanilla custard that was mixed with chocolate syrup. Do not recommend, service was nice but price was not it especially considering that the main reason for purchasing the dessert was for the cookie dough only for it to have TWO pieces. DQ is right down the road, at least they will give you a decent quantity for a cheaper price. read more

Found the food absolutely delicious! Way better than typical ice cream you get in shops. Also the service was very fast and efficient. Have gone twice now and both times, while it was busy, the wait was just a few minutes and I had a few items I ordered. They also have a drive thru if you don't want to wait inside. Love this new frozen custard place in Kyle. Great atmosphere and very clean. My favorite so far is the Homemade Fudge Brownie Sundae but we also like the easy grab pints with different flavors to choose from. Staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We went on Saturday around lunch time. The GM was the only employee and there was a lot of eager customers. She had closed the drive though to accommodate the lack of staff but business was steady. My family got four desserts and it was 40.00. I was flabbergasted when the price came up as it was not clear how the pricing worked with the cones and toppings but I paid without complaint (though this will be a deterrent from us every returning) Now for the actual ice cream. Nothing was mixed in so my son got an ice cream with sprinkles and none of the toppings would even stay on and the cones didn't come with any kind of wrapping so it was a leaking dripping mess within five minutes; my other son got an ice cream with Oreo and instead of it being mixed in like typical it was just halfway placed on top so after those first few bites there was nothing; my husband got a "home made brownie" sundae which included a brownie I watched her open from plastic wrap. All in all the custard was standard chocolate and vanilla (No flavors) and in terms of toppings and creations, I'd rather just go to Freddys or Culvers because at least we get our moneys worth and it's all mixed i read more
