This place is called Baskin Robbins...they sell ice cream. You probably haven't heard of it, so I know this Yelp review is really going to put this place on the map. They have a TON of flavors, like 30, and frozen yogurt as well, which I haven't tried from this mom-and-pop, unknown ice-cream shop, but I will post a "fro-yo" review next time around. The toppings they offer are pretty crazy, like sprinkles, nuts, and m&m's, which is totally unheard of in the ice cream world. Also, it is a great location, right off of the beautiful "traffic circle" area of Long Beach, which has so much to offer, like a radioshack and a laundry mat a few doors down, which you shouldn't miss. When I was in high school, I stopped going to Baskin Robins due to bad customer service in another location. Fast for 10 years later, even a simple "do you have this flavor" question gave me a "No" answer sounding like "I hate my job, shoot me now." Not only that, they have 3 employees and only have 1 customer to assist. No one gave me a single "may I help you" or "I'll be right with you, give me a few minutes" as I keep hinting I want ice cream. No only that, but these employees all have that "i don't want to work here" faces. As much as this was an impulse buy, I do not want it given to me lazily and rudely by terrible customer service. I ended up going to Vons next door and an a employee there suggested a flavor of Breyers they just got in and I wasn't even asking for help. Do I remember how good their ice cream was? I just donated blood at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and was given a Pint for a Pint coupon at Baskin-Robbins. When I arrived at this store I was informed that they did not participate in the promotion. Why would you as a corporation go through all of the trouble to printing, donating and providing these coupons to charitable acts if you do not plan on honoring them as a corporation??? There's a lot of new and trendy ice cream shops that come and go, but Baskin Robbins still has a place in my heart. Whenever I am here, I debate where to get my ice cream fix because Rite Aid is two stores down. Most times, I come here. Last time I was here, I got a oreo milk cereal ice cream which was fantastic. Unfortunately it is a seasonal flavor so it's only available for a limited time. However, they always have classics like oreo and jamoca which I both love. Prices are cheap and the service is really friendly here... usually at spots like this, I don't pay attention to customer service much but the service is always consistent here. I looked up the coupon for 50% off your purchase on 9/12/17 when we get to the counter and order to my surprise they will not honor the coupon code that is clearly posted all over the place. Not only does the clerk refuse to honor it she tells me she is going to help someone else before even finishing my transaction. This is my favorite Baskin Robbins location. There is a very sweet guy working there who always greets you with a huge smile. It's so sweet because he looks at you as though you're a friend that he hasn't seen in a while. I spotted him at Smart and Final one day and he gave the same smile to everyone he made eye contact with. It's the kind of smile that you want to follow up with a hug, but he's a stranger and that would be weird. Seriously, it's just ice cream. Honestly, you can get cheaper ice cream by the scoop at RiteAid which is literally footsteps away, but I continue going to this location especially on my birthday to pick up my free scoop. I came in here last night and it was just a mess. Once you walk into this business, all you see is dirty foot prints all around. It was basically covered the floor. I understand they were busy since it was the 31st special and the crowd will be bigger than normal but it had a weird smell and to top it off this young girl who worked there was absolutely RUDE to one of her employee! I was asking for a flavor and since she was going to open a new one, she told the older woman, who was Hispanic, that you cannot use that and that it'll take 30 minutes to defrost or whatever. I was flabbergasted! She had an attitude on her face as she told the woman and when the young woman notice I was staring at her in disbelief, she tried to crack a smile. Respect goes a LONG WAY. I grew up on Baskin Robbins, but haven't been there in a long time, so my husband and I decided to check it out after hearing about their limited-edition Sour Patch Kids flavor. First off, the store didn't look very clean. There was no clear line, just customers and workers milling about. The workers were your average high school-aged employees who looked dead in the eyes but managed to do an okay job, though I wouldn't say it was great customer service. But the worst part was the ice cream. My husband hated his Sour Patch Kids ice cream, and I didn't want to finish my scoop of Icing on the Cake. The cake bits did not taste like cake; I had no idea what substance they consisted of. The frosting pieces were waxy sweet shards that were vaguely frosting-like although nowhere near as delicious as actual buttercream frosting. Everything was way too sweet, artificial-tasting, and lacking in flavor. I can see why the vibrantly colored ice cream would appeal to kids, but as an adult who has ventured out to other ice cream establishments, I'm willing to cough up more money to go somewhere else. read more

I used to come here once a week and all of their staff was friendly and helpful. I haven't been there for awhile but I realize it's a new owner and they seem to not care about their customers. I always order the Banana Royale and they gave me LESS than before!! I was shocked with disbelief because I only had 3 spoonful for a scoop of ice cream and it was gone . The owners seem to depend on their staff to take care of the customers while they pretend to do something else. For the previous owner , I would give them 5 stars. The current owner needs a lot of work whether it's customer service or treating and teaching their staff right to do their job . $6 for a few bites of ice cream is ridiculous . Do yourself a favor and go down the street to rite aid where you can get a scoop literally twice the size for half the price. The manager was so sweet and very attentive while taking my order. He made my banana split with love and even put It in the freezer while I ran to Ross to get change!
