This is the place to take your gf/wife when she is cranky. She'll walk out with a smile holding a cold milkshake. The customers there were friendly and chatty. I didn't get any donuts there so I can't comment on the donuts. This review is strictly based on its milkshake. The milkshake here is better than In-N-Out milkshake IMO. I got strawberry banana milkshake and I enjoyed every drop of it. It is not too thick like In-N-Out strawberry shake so you don't have to suck really hard on the straw and be disappointed because you have to wait for it to melt a little more. This is byfar the best donut place I've been to in Long Beach (just to be fair, I haven't been to that many). There is always someone cleaning or sweeping whenever I'm there... that goes to show that they really care about the place and you feel safe knowing that they probably take care of the kitchen in the back just as much, if not more. The workers are always so friendly and it seems like there are always usuals there who are comfortable hanging out there for awhile, which is fine because its welcoming. I first fell in love with a jalapeno croissant sandwich here and often times have cravings for it. One time, I didn't see it in the display and almost ordered an alternative until the lady told me that she can make me one... no problem. REALLY? You'd do that for ME!?! FABULOUS! I haven't tried anything else here, but definitely give the jalapeno croissant sandwich a go! :D read more

Bad service from the start with a side order of PPA (Piss Poor Attitude). The woman behind the counter was quite rude and unhelpful. It appeared she knew nothing about donuts or even donuts in her own shop. Also the milk was warm and curdled. When I told the server she simply shrugged and went about her day. ALERT! I live nearby so I've been here a handful of times ever since they opened a few years back. I dropped by last weekend for the first time in probably a year and man has quality gone down. First off I'm not an early bird by any means so me having to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn on a Saturday to drop the bro off for a field trip means I'm totally rewarding myself with donuts. I got there around 7:45am and the place was pretty busy. Not surprising because the regulars want their coffee and lotto tickets lol. Being that it was still relatively early I was eager for freshly made (hopefully wishing still warm) donuts. I also grabbed a couple of ham and cheese croissants because I forgot how theirs compared to other places. As soon as I got home less than 5 minutes I opened that pink box ready for some glazed fluffy heaven dough. I noticed at first glance that the bottom halves of the donuts (parts not covered in glaze or icing) looked a little dark - kind of a tan caramel color. They also failed to look soft and well donut-like, reminded me more of some kind of bread crust. First bite was okay, tasted like how an original glaze should taste - sweet but not teeth numbingly sweet. Took a couple more bites thinking "yay. this donut is alright and yummy" then after swallowing I realized how wrong everything was. My tongue felt coated; it left a strange powdery, drying feeling on my tongue. After another couple of bites I realized it felt like the donut was fried is super old, reused, going bad oil :(. This explained that drying feeling that bad oil can sometimes leave on the tongue. It wasn't fluffy and soft at all - just tasted like a weird fried bread covered with glaze. Needless to say I was super disappointed and really upset that I ended up getting a whole dozen to share with the family. Moving on to the ham & cheese croissant I was trying to be optimistic. And thankfully it was pretty good. Basically on par with all your other typical h&c croissants. The only downside is the lack of ham. It was a REALLY thin amount - maybe just two small slices? And for some reason the way they put it in the envelope (maybe with tongs? I wasn't looking) made it SUPER flat. So basically it was more like just a cheese croissant with a hint of ham. Nothing hearty or filling. Basically this place is cheap but not worth that little money anyway. Scrounge up the extra few cents and dollars and go to a better donut shop that will actually make your Saturday mornings happy. read more

Went here because today is national Sundae day, info courtesy of da Google. This was the closest and best reviewed ice cream eatery near by. In that case, the enormity of the amount of ice cream given was well worth the $2.50. I shared one sundae with my bf, and we asked how many scoops and she said 2. It turned out to be a good 4 scoops amount. Whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and rainbow sprinkles topped it off. I wish a cherry was on top and it was hot fudge instead of just chocolate syrup, because then it would have been my ideal kind of sundae. All and all good ice cream and it satisfied our craving. To prove how much of a fatty I am, I wanted try their donuts, so I got 2 for $1 since it was after 2pm (You can't bargain for 1 for .50, I tried). So close to winning the mega million jackpot. Of all the donut shops in California, you had to be the one. I guess it wasn't my time. *tear* Anywho I like their croissants and breakfast croissants. I prefer the plain over the breakfast one. They give you the option of warming up your croissant but I prefer to keep my crunchy croissant as such and never really get it warmed up unless its the breakfast one. The outer crust is buttery and flaky. This please is a great place to stop in and grab a quick coffee, cold beverage or ICE CREAM (Thirfty's Ice Cream). I was soooo excited to check this place out and eat a great sundae. However I was very, very disappointed. I ordered a large (2) scoop ice cream sundae (scoops of my choice), and the girl behind the counter handed just the 2 scoops in a styrofoam cup ONLY. When I asked her for the whip cream, she really didn't understand what I meant, and I also had to request the nuts. No fudge, chocolate or strawberry toppings and definitely no cheeries to top it off. So needless to say, don't rush out to this place and have ice cream. Sometimes I just randomly crave milkshakes so I went on the yelp app looking for a milkshake place near my work one day. I didn't have cash on me, so the next time I had a hankering for a milkshake and I was with cash, I went here during my lunch break. Wow! There is a good variety of donuts, and it looks like after 1pm they have a good deal (2 donuts for $1 I believe? check other reviews lol). Anyways in the back of the donut shop, there is there ice cream section... which is pretty big for a donut shop in my opinion. The selection is as big as Rite Aid I would say. They have many flavors, including watermelon and green tea! When it comes to ice cream you can have it served to you in a regular cup or cone, or you can have it as a milkshake, or banana split, or even a smoothie with boba. I got a strawberry banana smoothie with boba... I originally wanted strawberry and banana ice cream blended together as a milkshake but the lady said no and did it as a smoothie with milk, fruit and powder and all.. I was like okay.. just force me to choose a smoothie why don't you... then I added boba for the hell of it. It was good for a smoothie but not amazing. Even though they added real fruit, there was an aftertaste I didn't like. The ladies behind the counter aren't really friendly, but whatever. It's also in the sketchy part of town (along Anaheim street), so expect a hobo around like when I went. So overall, 3 stars! The European Iced cofee is cheap, tastey, and powerfull. I have to have one every day. Better than Star Bucks, and cheaper too!
