It was okay, they don't fill up the cups. Matcha berry crunch was good it had white crunchy bits but ive had better matcha flavors.

Tried a few flavor samples before grabbing this

Been here so many times I've lost track of the calories lol but that's okay. The ice cream cake is worth trying with friends / family for a birthday. All the flavors are pretty darn good, my only complaint is they are cashless but it's better for their safety I'm sure just be aware if you come to have a card or apple / android pay for your bill. Fast service and some cool merch and collabs from time to time

Pass on the milky bun. Too much donut, not enough ice cream.

I've walked by this popular ice cream shop many times but never gone in. So when I was craving ice cream on a hot day this week I decided to finally give it a try. They seem to have about 15 unique ice cream flavors at a time and are happy to let you try them before making a decision. On my visit they had three (!!) types of brownie ice cream. After trying all three I decided on the ube brownie batter ice cream. The ube was a nice complement to the chocolate richness of the brownie. Since it was my first visit, the person helping me suggested the milky bun, which turned out to be an ice cream sandwhich inside of a warm glazed donut. Ordering the milky bun was where I went wrong. The great thing about ice cream sandwiches is that they turn ice cream into an easy-to-hold treat with a cookie outside that complements the ice cream without over-powering it, similar to a cone. This sandwhich was (a) impossible to pick up and eat like a sandwhich, (b) way too sweet: it overpowered the flavor of the ice cream, and (c) poorly proportioned: there was far too much "milky bun" and not nearly enough ice cream. I ended up using a spoon to eat the ice cream out from inside the bun on its own, but it was less ice cream than you'd get in a normal 1 scoop cone or cup. I do want to give them another try, I'll just steer clear of the milky bun and recommend you do the same!

Strawberry Cookie Crunch and Pistachio

Let's say 2025 is the year of the pistachio. Fueled by the Dubai Chocolate craze, this green nut has taken over the culinary world, including, ice cream. So when I scrolled past social media posts about Afters' new Dubai Chocolate ice cream, I was set on tasting this viral sensation. Upon arriving, I saw their famous, vibrant blue COOKIE MONSTER (vanilla-based with chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, and fudge) -- a bestseller for a reason. But my true quest was for the mysterious Pistachio ice cream. I settled on a two-scoop combo: the Strawberry Cookie Crunch (classic strawberry with chocolate chips) and the highly anticipated Pistachio (pistachio-flavored with real chipped pistachio nuts). Both scoops were incredibly satisfying. The STRAWBERRY COOKIE CRUNCH offered a sweet, pleasant texture from the cookie dough. PISTACHIO ice cream was wonderfully creamy and absolutely loaded with broken pistachio nuts, providing a fantastic textural contrast. The flavor itself was subtle, with a distinct earthy and woody complexity that truly highlighted the unique taste of the nut without being overly sweet. Afters has clearly mastered these flavors, and I'm eager to explore their other high-quality offerings.

This saw my first time here, so I didn't really know the deal beyond that it was probably some good quality ice cream. Now, take that tasty ice cream and slap it in a warm donut??!? Don't mind if I do. ;) The service was quick and friendly, the two guys working there came out quick to greet us, answer our questions, and offer a few samples to help us narrow down the options. The place is simple and clean in feel and design. Not much seating wise, and space out front is limited, but whatever, you'll quickly forget about all of that as soon as you're enjoying your tasty dessert, I promise! :)

Located in a convenient plaza across from cal state LB! We tried the raspberry matcha crunch in a waffle cone! Service was kind and chatted! The place was clean and well-lit. Great dessert spot!

Salty O's and Strawberry Cookie Crunch

Afters is always a vibe and hands down one of the best spots in Long Beach when you have a late night craving for ice cream. The service here is consistently friendly and welcoming it feels like they genuinely want you to enjoy yourself and don't mind handing out all the free samples lol. Normally I'm loyal to my go to flavor Dark Matter but this time I decided to switch things up and went with the Stwaberry Cookie Crunch. No regrets there it was creamy, rich, and had that perfect balance of flavor and texture. My girl stuck with her tried and true favorite Salty O's and honestly I get why it's her go to every time. It's the perfect mix of sweet and salty, addictive in the best way. Whether you're pulling up after dinner or just looking for the perfect late night indulgence, Afters delivers every single time. If you haven't tried it yet do yourself a favorite it's worth every scoop.

I got the strawberry matcha crunch, which was great! I loved the strawberry jam ribbons and the white chocolate covered rice krispy treats. There's plenty of spots to sit outside and eat, and there is a lot of friendly staff available to help you get samples.

Milk & Cereal milky bun

I saw a lot negative reviews on the service specifically the night shift but I've never had an issue with opening shift so this review is based off that. 10/10 service every time, the workers here are always pleasant to me, the store is always kept very clean, and the ice cream/milky buns are always delicious!

This was a great opportunity to check out a local ice cream shop. They definitely had some unique ice cream flavors. I had the double dark chocolate with brownie and the pistachio Dubai. They complimented each other very well while the store does look a little rundown, and there are no restrooms for customers even, the ice cream was definitely creamy smooth and delicious Located near CFU Long Beach. It was a good opportunity for my colleagues and I to have a quick ice cream cap after a nice long meeting.

Afters is a unique ice cream shop tucked away in a small plaza located on 7th and PCH, directly across the street from the Veterans Hospital. This ice cream joint is quite nostalgic to me as I used to stop by constantly in high school when their infamous 'Milky Bun' was trending in the foodie community. Their Milky Bun is ultimately a donut sandwich with a scoop of your choice of ice cream flavor in the middle. My go-to is the Milky Bun with their 'Cookie Monster' ice cream. Cookie Monster is cookies and cream with some sort of colored dye, I'm assuming. I love how they have a great and unique selection of flavors to choose from. My mom doesn't really enjoy sweets but she loved her waffle cone she had the other day. For an ice cream shop this is a pretty cool spot to treat your sweet tooth. Service was also A1 upon our recent visit, the young gentleman helping us was helpful, patient, and also offered us samples of their flavors. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

Killer fudge brownie, on the cloud and Triple C's with cookie topping
Liv M.

We stopped at this small ice cream shop for a quick treat. The server was super friendly, attentive, and helpful. We ordered a sundae (on the cloud with mms, and caramel sauce) and two one scoops in cups ( killer chocolate brownie and triple c- vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, fudge and caramel and chocolate chip toppings). Ice cream is creamy, silky and tastes of the ingredients listed. It's a cute little place and right now they're selling g BTS21 merch.

There are over twenty-five locations in Southern California, so they must be doing something right. I was thinking of getting the jasmine milk tea, but saw they had some special "Avatar- The Last Airbender" flavors. I tried "Aang's Spirit Moon Matcha," as I love matcha. I didn't care for the cake pieces though. I went with "Zuko's Ly-Chi Chili." I liked the lychee part, but didn't care for the chili swirl. The ice cream was too soft and melty as well. I didn't end up finishing it.

Ask the Community - Afters Ice Cream

Do they still sell T-shirts?

Yes they do have shirts still, as well as hats. They have a whole rack of short and long sleeve tees inside near the register.

Do they still have the Rick & Morty them going?

As of today, Mother's Day 2019, yes. And I'm so happy.

Is there an ingredient list for the ice creams? I can't find it online and one if my kids is allergic to peanuts, cashews and milk but wants to try Afters?

No. They just have the names of the flavors but you can ask the workers.

Any vegan or non dairy options?

They have mango, acai berry and monster chocolate for the vegan options.

What the heck? Cash only?

No, I used my ATM card. Maybe internet was down when you visited.

We ordered: * A medium snoball with watermelon and mango, plus condensed milk * Vanilla soft serve ice cream * Cookies & cream funnel cake My snoball was so good! I also tried my brother's funnel cake -- definitely on the sweeter side, but still really tasty and probably best shared with someone else. We also accidentally ordered our niece's soft serve in a cup instead of a cone. When I mentioned it, they kindly made us a new one in a cone at no extra charge, which was really appreciated. The customer in front of us was also confused about his pickup order, and the staff handled it politely and professionally. Overall, the service was excellent! My favorite was the banana pudding. The shop was not busy on a Wednesday afternoon. There is one table and limited outdoor seating. Parking is street parking.

This was me and my friends 2nd time to the Summer Nights and last year we really really enjoyed it…read more Everything was delicious and we couldn't wait to go back. This time (yesterday), however, was not nearly the same experience. First of all, I realized we couldn't book a table for 8 people, so me and my friends book 2 tables for 8.30PM. I called asking if it's possible to put our tables together close or side by side, they said they will try their best. We all showed up at 8.30 and waited until around 9-9.15 because they only had 1 table ready. Ok. Come the time the other table opened and it's not even that close to each other. But it's okay, I respect the limitations on this part. No one came to us to take our order or even give us water until way later, and we got our drinks at 9.45. Another critique is that my friend called and ask how much corkage fee and they said $25. It turned out to be $40. Another disappointment, but it's ok. Not much can be done bout that part. Next thing is the food. We enjoyed the fried green beans. Crudo was really really salty, and it's not only 1 person thought that. We wondered if the kitchen mistakenly salted the fish twice. We enjoyed the peach salad. We ordered a few different pasta and the tagliatelle in particular was disappointing. It really lacked flavor that we had to mix the other pasta dish sauce to it. The pork plate was good, a bit small but we enjoyed it. Now the mussles and frites were disappointing too. The sauce just didn't do it for me (other friends agreed). I always talked really highly about Nonna Mercato (I also enjoyed the brunch so much) and always told people that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Long Beach, but this one really missed the mark for me and my friends. I don't know if this would make us want to go to Summer Nights again next time. For $130 per person (after tax, tip, and corkage fees), I definitely hoped for a much better experience.

Went with the ube and a white chocolate macadamia. Of course both were delicious. One major caveat though-you MUST get them warmed up. Last time I had their cookies they were warm and I fell in love. This time I thought I would eat it later so I declined. Well, of course once I got the cookies in my mitts I had to have a bite or two. Initially, I was completely disappointed, and thought this can't be right. I was going to ask the friendly staff if they could warm it up, but that seemed weird since I had already broken off a couple of bites. Took my ube home, quick 15 second warm up and it was back to perfection. Rookie mistake on my part and I won't do it again. While I was in the store I nearly ended up buying a load of cute items, that I thought I absolutely must have. Showed some restraint, but I can't guarantee I will be able to again.
