We often go here. I feel like there's always one person actually working and the other two are usually just casually walking around preparing DoorDash orders and the slowest speed just to avoid helping customers in line. The reason I was irritated, hence this review was another employee came in, and instead of the DoorDash helping the long line she gave her her iced creams(yes, more than one prepared cup) and she didn't even pay. I was watching the workers as they took their time to help me with no one in the shop!! There was ice cream all over the counters where the ice cream was held and black dust all over the customers section. I realized it really wasn't the employees fault, as they stumbled around, talking on the phone, and joking with each other. It's the owners fault and responsibility to hire and train quality employees. Obviously the owners have no business skills or even knowledge of how the shop should operate, I assume as long as they are getting some cash put in the register daily....that's good enough for them! The service here was appalling. There were at least six people behind the counter, none of whom appeared to be helping anyone waiting in line. When my daughter and I finally got to the front of the line, the person just walked away and started doing something else behind the counter. I finally had to raise my voice to say that I had been waiting ten minutes without even an acknowledgment. I felt like they were all just looking right through me like I wasn't there. How have I gone this long without reviewing my hometown Baskin Robbins - my second home for more than 3 years of my life! If you have ever walked in here between 1997 to 2001 and seen a small asian girl behind the counter, that was me! The one with the really big smile sneaking samples in the back. The one hiding behind the cake counter attempting to decorate cakes and clown cones before they melted onto the floor. The one with the buff biceps :) I'm not sure if the BR is still under Carol's management but eating and working here was by far the highlight of my summers in Salinas. I came in this evening & was very displeased with the actions from the OWNERS. As soon as I walked in, the owners had their masks off while coming in contact with consumable products. As I waited for my order, they continued to touch their masks multiple times taking it off & on. One of the ladies had her mask off & was on the phone for about a minute or so. The other lady wiped her nose & then continued to touch the items she was making. I asked the young lady who helped me if they were managers & she responded that they were the owners. I had asked her to let them know that their behavior was extremely inappropriate, especially for being in a pandemic. I am very disgusted by this & I wish this place had some accountability. I just hope everyone who comes in makes sure that the employee helping them washes their hands & be careful when ordering items that are made in store! read more

There's nothing really unique about this Baskin-Robbins. It's Baskin-Robbins for crying out loud. They have the amenities of a Baskin-Robbins in having all the flavors. But if you want a quick fix of ice cream, I guess you can come here for it. Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Ice cream is what I usually get. Can't go wrong with it. Wish they still have Snickers but they usually run out of it quick and I wonder why. read more

The 2 people waiting on customers were very slow and even though we were next, he called other people out of line behind us and waited on them. I went on Tuesday, Around 2:30pm at Baskin Robbins in the E Laurel Dr, Salinas Ca 93906. and I went to purchase a bucket of Ice cream that was $6 and When I went to take it to the cashier I gave her my Gift card that was loaded $25 and I made it sure I had the right amount and I only used it once at the Baskin Robbins in Gilroy that was used $10 so I still have more money and my balance is $15 on my card I still have, So when the Lady swiped it twice she said I don't have "No money on the card, and she couldn't help me because it didn't work" and I was like "NO, I made sure I had the right and good amount of money on my card so please swipe again" and she was like I'm sorry but it doesn't work.. But I also saw someone else use there gift card from there and it worked for them... I think this lady was being racist to me! In her words she was only accepting "Cash, Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Prepaid Cards, or Apple Pay" not Gift Cards.... This is B******T. last time I'm going to that Baskin Robbins. My only complaint is that the Baskin Robbins stores in Salinas are too small to display all of the ice cream flavors that are available. I am currently addicted to Jamoca ice cream! It's lightly coffee flavor and rich creaminess are the unfortunately perfect combo to add belly blubber! I try to refrain, but fail miserably. I love the pink spoons that they have. Tiny sample spoons and just-the-right size regular spoons. My sister recently brought me a hand-packed quart of Jamoca that only lasted me two days! There are, of course, many other flavors, and I do taste several of them. I always lean towards the rich and creamy or chocolatey ones. I have NEVER been disappointed by Baskin Robbins! read more

This Baskin Robbins is terrible I had ordered a cake that I paid a very lot of money for and I had it designed when I went to go pick it up the next day there was nothing written on it like I had asked then the two ladies that were working there were debating on who was going to write on it cause I think they can only have certain people right on the cakes and so they were arguing about that I just told them to give me the cake I don't want anything messed up with it please they're like you sure we can do it I'm like no just give me the cake please so that happened then it was time for my daughter to cut her cake and her whole face dropped!! It was chocolate cake she's never had like chocolate cake in her life so I know I had ordered a vanilla just like she wanted it.. I'm her mother I should know this why would I order my daughter a chocolate cake when I know she hates chocolate cake so much well I called the next day and I explained the lady what happened and how terrible I felt that my poor daughter on her birthday she could not even have a piece of her birthday cake the lady had told me well I'm going to have to talk to the owner about it and I'll get back with you but I know that you told me chocolate cake and I'm like I'm not going to argue with you I know what I wanted! she asked if i had my receipt and yes I have my receipt she said if you look on it that's what you ordered and i told her well that's what your hand wrote! she calls me the next day and says oh yeah we can't do nothing for you we went through the video and we have it saying that you want a chocolate cake I said okay please show me that tape she had nothing to say.. except we can give you a $5 cupone are you freaking kidding me! Giving Baskin Robbins 2 stars for their customer service. Nicole was so rude for absolutely no reason at all. I went in for an ice cream cake, there was a bit of a line for ice cream so I understand they had a little rush. I grabbed my cake from the fridge and took it to the register. I waited there as all the workers were scooping ice cream at the time. That was fine, no big deal. Nicole came to the register I was waiting at and asked if I could move so she could ring out the people she scooped ice cream for. I said yes and moved out of the way. I waited there, thinking she could ring me out as soon as she was done helping those people. She did not. She rudely walked away and completely ignored me. The guy that was working was right there so I asked "Can someone ring me out for the cake" and he said "yes, I'll help you right now". So I waited but then the other girl that was working came over and said "I can help you at the other register. I'm so sorry, that was horrible and shouldn't have happened". I wish I would've got her name because she was nice and helpful. She even offered a discount on the cake for the poor customer service but she forgot to put it in and got distracted writing on the cake for me. I didn't realize until after I paid but I didn't mind, Because I didn't original in there looking for a discount. But anyways, Nicole was rude and showed poor customer service. read more

Agree with the more recent reviews that mention the AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just got back, daughter is in tears because we left before getting ice-cream. Was really crowded and waited for about 15 minutes - right in front of the register, following behind a group of three who had a really big order. When it was our turn, person went to the people in front of the second register and I said, that I thought it was our turn. The taller girl said there is one line and you have to wait in it. I was pissed, because she looked at me (and made eye contact) standing where I was and never said anything. There are no signs that say form one line or take a number. We left and will not return. The place is jammed with tables and they only have two people trying to help a lot of people, so they are not cleaned up after use. So, poor customer service, cramped seating space, tables that are not wiped, and limited ice-cream selection. I will go to Star Market and get a carton of Mariannes and have some REAL ICE CREAM. read more
