Receipt--- also extra dollar for using Apple Pay and it's not itemized, just added on. See the math?

Maaaaannnnnn..... what happened to the PRICING at Fosters Freeze?!?!? I bought: regular hamburger, small fries, a hot dog and small ice cream--- $30! The ice cream was $9! It was a twister and they charged me $1.50 extra to make it with chocolate ice cream. I mean--- it's machine ice cream! The burger was good. The fries and hot dog were nothing much... I know prices have gone up but this was out of pocket. We felt price gouged enough that we won't be back. Too bad because it was always a favorite.

Ordered a ton of stuff and wrecked their store inside and they were so polite and professional.

Just want to send acknowledgment to Goster Freeze Salinas #166 We came in at 8:55pm with with 11 people and ordered 30 items and David was so nice and got everything right. We didn't have to repeat anything.out of our party of 11 6 were kids running around being wild and the store was so patient and professional. Thank you David and Foster Freeze in Salina's. We came for the Monterey aquarium but the bright spot of the trip was the service and quality of time we had at foster freeze. Thank you all. Great energy in the store. You can tell everyone likes their jobs and coworkers. Store was spotless

Looks good but tasted terrible and cost me $6.50!!

Fosters used to be my favorite local fast food joint. Short story: I wanted a treat. I hadn't had a dipped cone in over 10 years, so I stopped to get one. The cone on the menu without dip was like 4.50. I was astonished, but it was a treat so I was ok with it. The literal gasp I had when the cashier said my total was $6.50+! For a SMALL dipped cone. I drove away thinking ok, well, it'll be delicious and it's a treat, so I'll unclutch my pearls and park to enjoy my investment. No... the chocolate was SUPER waxy and the ice cream wasn't even as good as McDonald's. I was seriously disappointed. Foster's has always been pricy but good. They've jumped the shark now into OVERPRICED and not even good. I'll not visit again and I'm sad about it.

We had a vanilla cone, banana milkshake and a sriracha popcorn chicken. Total was $25. Things tasted OK. Service was fine for a counter style restaurant. Little water cups were 28 cents. I thought that was kind of weird.

Honestly, just your basic cheeseburger and fries, but it tastes sooo good. Really good for a fast food burger. The dipping sauce is definitely a winner, it tastes good on everything. I was pleasantly surprised with this place.

No lettuce. Stale fries. Pricey for tiny burgers. Charged for cups. Lol

Today Jan 11, 2023 3:14 pm Fries are stale. First time receiving crinkled fries. Not good at all. There was no lettuce in our hamburgers. The Pattie's were very small. The speaker used when ordering does not sound clear. Ordered regular sizes but was charged for large and medium. Not impressed. Wait time was longer than expected.

Small Chocolate Banana Malt in a Coffee cup for 9$! This is outrageous for my receipt being bigger than my actual drink, charged extra for the chocolate and the banana ... so pretty much the flavor of my milkshake is an extra 2$ each. The bathroom is not clean and outdated.. the customer service is never ever even remotely fair for any establishment let alone a place I pay 9$ for a SMALL milkshake. Do better Foster Freeze... but we know you won't cause you never get back to your complaints or care about your customers. Edit : yes post is a year old, I wrote the review and forgot to post it. When I went to write a review on Ike's it went back to my fosters post and brought me back to how pissed I was haha anyways ....never went back, I go to sonic now. Owner is full of excuses .

I have hesitated posting a review of our recent visit because Foster's been an icon since I moved here in the 70's. This was my husbands favorite restaurant since his days attending Salinas High, but I just heard another location was coming to North Salinas and then I read the other reviews and could not stay silent! We took our grandkids here because they loved their milkshakes. We decided to go in to grab a meal also. $64 later for 3 kids & 2 adults, I couldn't believe how much the food has shrunk. And my burger was obviously a child's patty on an adult bun. The driest thinnest patty I have EVER had! Sadly, we went to McDonald's a couple of days later and ordered a McDouble for $1.48 less and it was triple the thickness of this burger and JUICY! How is a burger patty SO dry? Maybe pre-cooked. Sadly this iconic restaurant has gone down hill in the food department! Ice cream is still great! Overpriced, but great! I hope they fix the problems before they open another restaurant!

Very disappointing $8 small milkshake. Its child size. SAD was a family favorite. Better value at Baskin Robbins.

My boss and coworkers have been raving about this place for the longest time, and I finally decided to come check it out for myself during lunch. Safe to say, I completely understand the hype now and I don't regret it one bit! I ordered the fries with steak bites and they were absolutely delicious. Now here's the thing , I am not a dessert person. I almost never order dessert anywhere I go, but something told me to give the brownie a try, and wow, I am so glad I did. Finger licking good doesn't even begin to cover it. That alone is worth the trip! But what really made the experience stand out was my server, Jasmine A . She was a solid 10 out of 10 incredibly friendly, attentive, and just an overall joy to be served by. I am someone who takes customer service very seriously, and Jasmine is exactly the kind of energy every restaurant needs more of. She genuinely made the whole experience even better. If you're reading this and on the fence about coming don't hesitate. The food is amazing, the service is top tier, and it is absolutely worth every single penny. This won't be my last visit, that's for sure!

Located in old town Salinas -- I was told this spot is one of Salinas' oldest establishments occupying the same building from when it was founded in 1940. Hope they make it to 100 years! Also, my friend said this spot is known for their prime rib. I'll have to make it in one day to try for myself.

We ordered avocado toast, French toast, banana pecan pancake, house potatoes, and an Aperol spritzer. My avocado toast was served on a single very thick piece of bread, which had a very generous amount of avocado smash and was topped off with this delightful and fresh arugula salad. I added an over easy egg for an extra charge that was the perfect balance. The house salad was simple with butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, cucumber, with a light lemon house dressing that brought the salad together. It was refreshing. The French toast is pretty standard. Nothing that particularly stood out. The banana pecan pancake was delicious and shared with everyone at the table. The house potatoes were extra crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, which I found particularly satisfying. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and found Portabello's to be a good brunch spot in Salinas. The service was fast, the food portions were big, the food tasted fresh, and it was a nice ambiance. I would definitely return for the avocado toast and potatoes. Side note - I noticed Caesar Salad was misspelled on the menu as "Caeser"
