We spend hundreds of dollars there, but our autos are not safe in the parking lot. The private security firm does not do their job...we were broken into right in front of bass pro, and when we approached security, he was talking on the phone with his girlfriend. And did not even take a report...dangerous shopping there if you have anything of value, cars, guns, purses.... Bass pro manager reported the lazy less than attentive guard...darn, he couldn't even speak English... Last night the news reported the number of break ins at this place. read more

I'm not an outdoorsy kind of girl so this store is kind of lost on me as far as equipment goes, but as far as fudge goes? Oh man oh man oh man. THE FUDGE!!!!!! It's so incredibly good! The fudge is made perfectly and it comes in so many different flavors. You can try the fudge to your hearts content, but that's a little dangerous because you will want ALL OF IT! It's $3 for one slice which is 1/4 pound. $6 for 2 slices which is 1/2 a pound and they have some deals if you buy more than 4 slices. I waited so long in this line, but it was so worth it. The fudge was made perfectly and it's so rich. I can only eat little slices at a time so even though I got one small chunk of fudge it will last awhile. read more

I called before driving 50 miles up here to see if they had a product. They tell me yes so I make the trip. I get here and they do not there's only three of the items I was looking for and one of them to see it at best was the complete package and it was half ass thrown together. They flat out told me go to Cabela's they have more options this is the third time this place is screwed me around and I will not ever spend a dime here again!!! read more

Worst customer service ever. Sell Bob Timberlake over priced luggage which they are supposed to warranty yet won't replace a piece that was bought end of June that the zipper failed in. Guy at return desk said it was an old model they no longer have. I guess they can say that about most things they sell them right? They had a replacement, just a newer model and refused to do anything so we are out 50$ for a piece of garbage only 6 weeks old, that went on one cruise. We have been Bass pro customers for years but if this is the way they treat customers I will spend my money elsewhere read more

This is the second gun a buy from bass pro and the assistance is extremely poor in particular an employee by the name of JC Castillo. I ordered a gun in store and paid for it in full on 07/12/19 and was told they will call me when it arrived. I call them on 07/18/19 and ask for my gun because they haven't called so apparently the vault keeper said it arrived yesterday and this was verified by another employee as-well. No big deal they forgot one day that's fine. This issue arose when I walk in to pick up my gun without a receipt ( I had forgot it but had my Id with me witch should be more than enough prove that it's mine). I wait 20 minutes to be helped and when I do Mr. JC says he can't release my gun, I ask why not ,and he responds with we don't know if you bought it or not. How does the store not know what guns are paid for or witch ones are not! So I ask him can't you look it up with my drivers license number or SSN because they requested when I bought it. He said and I quote " I can look it up on the computer but I don't have time". It's your job to assist me I didn't buy a T shirt this is a 1,100$ dollar gun we are talking about! I ask for a manager because JC is ridiculous. Than in-front of me he goes to the back and stays in the door way and mocks me saying he doesn't have his receipt and he wants his gun, and shakes his head and gives attitude on purpose to the volt manager in front of me. Afterwards I get a manager from down stairs and very simply asks for my name 5 minutes later he came back with my gun and guides me towards the computer to finish my paperwork and everything went smoothly and I left the store no problem. The unprofessionalism of JC should not be acceptable. Full disclosure I'm 20 years old so I don't know if he was discriminating me based on my age or the way I dressed but he didn't even try to assist me and just said no and proceeded to fight me on my right to obtain a gun that I have paid in full! Afterwards he tried to be a smart and back talk me after I obtained my gun. Mr. JC is not a new employee, he has been working sense 2018, if he doesn't know the procedure be honest and ask for help instead of fighting with me and saying incorrect information and than having a manager fix the issue that Mr. JC could've easily have solved. I had never been to a Bass Pro Shop before this year and now I'm a frequent visitor. It's really just an awesome store to be in. It's very wide and open and it seems to go on forever. The staff is always friendly, they are well-versed in promotions and even tell you to get a rewards card. I can't tell you how many times I go to a place and it's not until like 5 years later someone goes - do you have a rewards card? And come to find out you could've had all these discounts or savings all this time. So it's nice to have someone offer you one up front. For handguns they are a little over-priced; I ended up purchasing thru someone else but with rewards, maybe I'll purchase ammo thru them or at least inquire about price-matching, as it seems to be a trend for most retailers to do so to fend off e-railers with lower operating costs/overhead. read more

A few friends and I went to the indoor gun range because it was raining. A man at the front gate was visibly nervous and asked us if we had appointments. My friend walked away toward the range, to make an appointment, and his daughter was going to follow him. The greeter reached out and touched her case to stop her. Then things got a bit dramatic, completely unnecessarily. First if you have a new policy you should have a sign somewhere. Something like, Welcome, range customers...You need to have an appointment, but also you need to check your cased firearms...just a suggestion. Make a sign. I'll follow your policy, no problem. But you need to let me know. Don't treat me like that. Greet me. I'm choosing to spend my money at your place. But there is no recovery from this. Once you treat me like a criminal, the relationship is over. Good-bye. read more

!!!!!Do not take your boat here for repairs unless you want to miss out on an entire fishing season!!!!!! I took my boat in for repairs with the idea that this is a large, reputable company that would do a good job in a timely manner. The manager told me my boat would be ready in 9 days. As I write this review, they have had my boat for over three months! The customer service is Horrible. My calls are never returned. My insurance rep told me (after the fact) that he has heard nothing but complaints about bass pro's boat repair division and their high cost of repairs. Please use a smaller, local company for your boat repairs and save yourself the headache and money. read more

Big beautiful store, convenient location, fairly decent stock of most items - too bad it ends there. I have called a couple of times re: various items and gotten the impression they weren't interested in taking a moment to provide information about the items they advertise, of if it is even in stock. I was thinking maybe they are busy with customers in the store - okay, I get it. When I went there a few times however, it was the same story. I had to ask one person behind the counter if they had a certain gun/scope combination they have on their web site 3 or 4 times. He then proceeded to the scope display case to show me something I hadn't asked for. He then asked an older person behind the same counter who rolled his eyes and told him to look in the back which he did. None there either. When I asked him if he had any idea when/if they will be getting more in, of course he didn't know, nor would he take a few seconds to try to find out. Unfortunately, Cabela's is up in Buda, TX but I will absolutely drive there if I can't find it anywhere else in SA. It makes no sense to me to spend money on advertising goods, even if it is just to get people through the door, and then treat them poorly. Maybe a big beautiful store and a great location IS enough and they don't need to rely on repeat business. Must be nice. Bass Pro in San Antonio has seen the last of me. read more

I would give a negative star if yelp would let me. I went to the fishing section to find a power cord for a Lowrance fish finder. The man in the fish finder booth told me that they don't have the cord and I would have to go to the Lowrance website and get it from them. He looked to have very little to no interest in helping me. I check the Bass Pro website and seen that they did carry the part but was out of stock. While I expressed to the manager that I may not "look the part" but I came to buy a product from their store. I told the manager that I'm a professional and I know when someone doesn't want to help a customer. I told the manager that either he doesn't know his job or he didn't want to help me. And I would rather him tell me that he didn't want to help me than to lie to me about a product. Another employee that was listening to me chimed in knew the man in the fishing section and vouched for him guaranteeing that the man knew what he was doing and he was with the Lowrance representative that day. So I then replied to him, " so it wasn't that he didn't know his job, he just didn't want to help me." As much as I hate to call the race card cause I'm in a interracial relationship but when a black guy wearing an anime shirt walks into Bass Pro. They don't look remotely interested in helping me out. I have been there numerous times before but this will be my last. Shout out to Amazon, they have better deals. read more

This is the second time I've gone into Bass Pro and have a very bad experience. I just got their Christmas flyer for 2019 and wanted to get a shirt that Cabelas didn't have in stock. (They supposedly have the same stock--WRONG!) When I walked into the store the men's clothing is on the center aisle right in front. I couldn't find anyone to ask for help. After a very long wait, I finally call the store on my cell phone to request help. Is that crazy or what? When I go to Cableas in Buda (I live in San Antonio) there is always plenty of help with very knowledgeable people. My next item was a spinning rod and reel combo advertised in the flyer I just got, listed as a Bass Pro product. I go over to the fishing department and there are only two guys standing behind the counter. When I show him the ad he replies "we don't carry that one." Mind you, there are about 10 variations of this Pfluger combo listed on their own website! Geez. This is why I would rather be inconvenienced enough to drive the hour up to Buda than fool with these people. I find the Bass Pro staff to be very unknowledgeable. I rue the day of the merger with Cabelas. I sincerely hope Cableas does not adopt any of their corporate models. If they do, BOTH stores are sunk! On a side note: People are willing to travel long miles to go into these stores to put their hands on the products they sell. If they are moving to online-only, that will spell doom. They need to have actual STOCK in the store. When I travel these distances, I'm more inclined to spend a lot more money if I can see the items in the store! read more

Disappointed with the North Pole. Race tracks were inoperable, coloring area was a mess with little to no supplies. Line was 4 hours long for picture with Santa. We did return during the week to find much of the same although the line was only 45 minutes. Picture was great. read more

I went to purchase a new gun. The guy who went to help me was extremely rude and wouldn't help me. I asked what size scope would fit the gun I wanted to buy. He told me any would fit the gun. So I asked him if one of the ones in the case would work well. He proceeded to tell me that that scope wouldn't fit the gun. After a few rounds of that, he seemed as if it was a hassle to waddle himself over to get the rings. At this point I told him forget it. However I then went over to the archery department and the guy who helped me there was extremely nice and spent about an hour helping me out. read more

This place is the best! My entire family loves to not only shop here, eat here, but just get out of the heat and hang out here. While my husband shops, my kids and I stroll around and look at the huge selection of fish. Throughout the year they have great 'kid activities' and during the Christmas season you can get a free picture with Santa Claus. The seafood restaurant inside is fabulous as well! read more

This is one of the places in the area that I always bring guests from out of town. You have to see it, even if you don't buy anything. I've bought a few things here over the years since they've been open, but nothing major. The little kiddy shooting range downstairs is fun and a good way to waste some change...I don't know why they got rid of their nascar simulator, but that was fun when they had it! Tonight my boyfriend and I were here after dinner and we chatted with David up in hunting and he was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. If you have any questions about a weapon or ammo or anything that has to do with hunting or self defense, talk to David. He's an older guy and he seems like he enjoys his job and is good at it. read more

I would lower some of the prices to MSRP. I went in to find some clothing for my father who has cancer. His life expectancy is not long and it is very hard for my family. Going into bass pro changed my life for the better. After being ignored by a rude woman (can't remember her name. She was wearing a pink shirt and had an accent) working in men's apparel, a man approached me and asked me if I needed help. His name was Kyle. I will never forget. I ended up venting out all my problems to him over a thirty minute span. He explained his troubles and told me everything was going to be alright. I have never been comforted more by any other individual in my life. Excellent person. He inspired me not only to be happier, but to also strive to inspire others. My life will forever be changed after meeting the man. Other than the lady in apparel, my presence was also demeaned by the individuals at the entrance. I'm presuming they are managers by the way they were standing and what they were wearing. In particular was the dark skinned man with buzzed brown hair. I didn't catch his name, but rather his attitude. It was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Maybe he was just having a bad day? I doubt it. Before I asked him the locations of several products, he stood, at the entrance, laughing with two other men (I'm presuming were also managers). I know society is becoming more and more liberal, but giving customers attitude for interrupting social hour to answer a few questions is still unacceptable. If it was not for the nice man in apparel, I would not recommend this store to anyone. Customer service definitely needs a touch up. read more

As Bass Pro Shops are regional, people have to travel long distance to get there! So calling ahead to see if they have an item in stock would be intelligent! But, Bass pro shops will not hire enough staff to answer the phones!!! And/or the pay crap and can't keep good people! The Gun Counter is always busy, ALWAYS, so staffing with a person the answer the phones would be just good management! But, they don't! Bad move, Bad Business model! I have only been to this store for hunting/firearm purchases. I have not taken the time to look through the fishing department if it's anything like hunting it will be a very short trip. Good points: Clean store with a very friendly staff. Just like all other Bass Pro Shops it's an enjoyable store to go to and take in all the decorations. Down Side: the hunting department has the most dismal selection of hunting gear of all types compared to just about every other outdoor stores I've been to. The gun counter has a horrible selection of firearms to choose from just a step up from Wal Mart if that puts it into perspective. If you want a decent selection Academy Sports blows them out of water and has all my firearm purchases from this point forward. Hunting clothing the selection is just as limited with only a few different brands and patterns to choose from. Optics whether it's scopes or binos is again a very limited selection and you better hope they have it in stock. Oddly enough many binos offered in camo online are only offered in black in the store. The only camo binos in stock are the more expensive models ($350 and up). Maybe this is their way of trying to get you to spend more money. All in all its a great store to walk around and kill time and enjoy the decorations but if you're looking for a quality selection of hunting equipment this is not the store to go to. read more

We were in San Antonio before Thanksgiving. My nephew really wanted to see Santa so we discovered he was scheduled to be at the Bass Pro Shop on I-10. We noted the time told to us over the phone and headed out. The closer we got to the store the more we saw how affluent the stores were around the area. When we arrived, the unsmiling, dead-pan guy at the entrance was the first employee we encountered. We told him we were looking for Santa and he said he wouldn't be there until 5 PM. The employee we spoke with on the phone said Santa was there from 12:30 to 5 PM. The guy said no that was yesterday. He never said I'm sorry. There was a misunderstanding. Nothing. What customer service! Too bad he couldn't have been a better representative for the company. Definitely lost us as customers. read more

Went into Bass Pro Shop to look at flannel shirts to see what type they had. My dad loves flannel shirts. We found some as soon as we walked in the store. When you walk in you see some kind of gate. I thought it was ok to open this and as I was the man to the left of me said to go through some turn type thing you'd see in an airport or somewhere, not a retailer. Sounded like he was a little exasperated that I opened the gate that was about waist high. There is no reason to act exasperated. This is on the other side of town from our house. So, my mom and I do not come out here that often. Been out to this location once before today. Told the lady we were looking for flannel shirts, she was blonde and thin and wore a Bass Pro Shop shirt. It is a huge store. Never thought I'd find the kind my dad wanted here. Did not plan on spending that kind of money as the lady talked us into the Carrhart brand. She said they are workman's shirts. We wanted tall since in long sleeve my dad wears tall ones. Some of them were shorter than the tall and some were the same, be sure to measure. The lady also said to never wash these in hot water and my dad said he washed his in hot. No wonder they shrunk! She said cold or warm, but no hot water as that would make them shrink more than necessary. When the lady told us that, we made sure told that to my dad. They are nice and thick. We asked what he wanted, he said no sherpa or fleece lined shirts. All he wanted was flannel and that was it. Lady asked if we wanted shirts to go underneath, we said he would never wear anything under it other than just a plain t-shirt. My mom did this the first year or two they were married, he never wore anything she bought. She bought him nice sweaters because she thought he would like them and she loves stuff like that, so she decided to give it a shot. She never made that mistake again. After being his wife for 39 years and with him being my dad for 29, we both know what he likes and what he will and will not wear. As far back as I can remember my dad has always worn flannel shirts. Always. He doesn't change what he wears. He likes simple shirts, nothing fancy. I think he likes the flannel shirts because he can adjust the sleeves or take it off completely. Right now he's in suburban Detroit taking care of my dying grandfather and he would like thicker flannel shirts like you could find a long time ago. He said if we could find flannel shirts that were thicker, he would like some. We happened to find 4 of them that he would like. When we were ready to checkout the lady told us they cost $45 per shirt. Both my mom and I were shocked. I don't think we've spent that much at a store like JCPenney or even Eddie Bauer as they were on sale. Not one shirt, that's for sure, maybe a shirt plus half of another one. But since they were what my dad prefers, we couldn't say no. This was the closest Bass Pro Shop store to our house. The nearest one to my grandfather's house is in Auburn Hills. Been there once, but it's a good 45 minute drive from my grandfather's house in Royal Oak. That's going the speed limit, mind you. That is the only location in Michigan. I don't know why that is. Michigan is a big state for just one location. There is plenty of fishing opportunities up there. There is plenty of hiking to do as well. I think this store would benefit from multiple locations in Michigan. You aren't far from any wilderness area in the state of Michigan, especially once you get past suburban Detroit. I've been to Sleeping Bear Dunes which isn't far from Traverse City and Pictured Rocks, which is near a town called Munising. Both have plenty of hiking trails around. Marquette and Traverse City would be terrific locations for this store, I guarantee they'd get a ton of business. They need to think about expanding their business in Michigan, at least in my opinion. You can do hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, etc. I bet they'd get business for ice fishing in the winter, especially in the upper peninsula. They also have some ski areas up in Michigan. One of the ski areas isn't too far form Traverse City. read more

The selection is amazing and the kids like the fish tank and all of the animals. The three stars is because the customer service is not very good and the prices are crazy high. Even the items on "sale" can be found cheaper at other places. I went to the customer service desk to get a fishing license and the young lady working there acted like I was causing her an inconvenience. read more
