Stars Mo Brady's in Davenport absolutely delivered. We stopped in early before a show at the Capitol Theatre and grabbed seats at the bar. The recent remodel looks fantastic -- clean, modern, and a cool vibe without trying too hard. The food was next level. I had the lobster filet combo (not typically a surf-and-turf guy, especially in Iowa), and it exceeded expectations. Perfectly cooked steak, great seafood, and everything plated well. But the real star? The crab cakes. Do not skip them. Easily the highlight of the meal. Old Fashioneds were on point too -- well balanced and done right. Good, not great. Appetizers were mixed quality. The highly rated cream cakes were sub-par. They had too much uncooked filler. Onion rings were above average. Shrimp were average. Batter was generally out of balance with what was inside. Wedge salad was over dressed. Ribeye was average. It reminded me why I would rather cook steak at home. I ate about half. We had a very large party of 29 something, and the servers worked hard, but they needed to do a better job of clearing plates as we progressed through the meal. Went there with a someone from work. We were greeted and seated pretty quickly. The waiter unfortunately presumed we were a couple, but not a real problem. We both got the Caesar salad. They were fine - nothing outstanding. The dressing could have had more flavor and there weren't many croutons. I ordered the fried shrimp my friend ordered the ribeye. The shrimp were cooked well, but the breading was very cakey and didn't seem to be cooked all the way through. There was no crunch and really no flavor. Definitely lacking salt and any other flavor. I peeled the breading off and ate the shrimp alone. My friend's said his ribeye was just okay and it didn't have any seasoning - not even salt which always enhances the flavor of meat. Was here visiting in Davenport and had dinner at a place my folks always loved.....Mo Brady's. I was very surprised at how awesome my meal was. My sirloin was perfectly cooked medium as requested and super flavorful. It was surprisingly in the top 5 steaks for me, easily rivaling my favorites (Taylor's in LA and Durant's in Phoenix). Oh boy, where do I start? Calling the food "crap" would be a compliment. The crab cakes were surprisingly decent, which was shocking given the rest of the menu seemed inspired by hospital cafeteria leftovers. The Mac and cheese was the only saving grace. At least it distracted me from the other atrocities on my plate. I typically eat at upscale places and the steaks here would be laughable by those standards. If you think Texas Roadhouse makes a great steak, this might be acceptable for you. lol It was a pleasant 73 degrees outside, but inside the restaurant, it felt like a sweat lodge. The thermostat said 73 degrees inside as well!! It brought me back to the days of the YMCA when I would sit in the steam room with old men. I spent a great deal of time fanning myself off with a piece of mail in the wife's purse. We had the pleasure of standing around for a whole five minutes waiting for a table, despite half the place being empty. Perhaps they were saving those for the ghosts of patrons past, who knows? They also didn't have our reservation down in their books.... What kinda operation we running here? Clearly, this joint doesn't believe in spending money on things like upgrading the AC. But hey, they have a robot scooting around the place. Yes, a robot. Priorities, right? And don't get me started on the steak. It was so tough and filled with gristle that I had to drown it in A1 just to make it edible. The only reason I'm not giving this place zero stars is because our server, Lydia, was a rockstar. While on a small road trip, my family and I decided to celebrate my birthday at a new spot, and this steakhouse was our pick. It turned out to be a wonderful choice for the occasion! The atmosphere was calm, with only a few diners, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The decor was modern and stylish, adding a touch of elegance to the celebration. We started with crab cakes as an appetizer, and they were to die for! Perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. For the little ones, both my daughter and niece enjoyed the chicken tenders, which were made in-house and tasted far better than the standard fare at other restaurants. For the entrees, I opted for the Top Sirloin, while my husband went for the Chicken Parmesan. The sirloin was tender and enjoyable but could have used a bit more seasoning to really elevate the flavors. On the other hand, my husband raved about his Chicken Parmesan, which he said was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. For drinks, we kept it simple with two Shirley Temples, a Sprite, and a fresh glass of water--all served promptly and chilled to perfection. The highlight of the evening was our amazing waitress. She was incredibly sweet, going above and beyond by singing "Happy Birthday" to me and surprising me with a dessert--a delectable scoop of ice cream paired with what seemed to be banana pudding bread. Visiting from out of town for football and needed dinner. I am really glad that we chose to eat at Mo Brady's. The food - on point! The service - above on point! On the off chance I'm ever in this area again, I will definitely dine here again!! We arrived around 8 on a Saturday night and it appeared to be at the tail end of the dinner rush. My wife, her daughter, and her parents and I had dinner and drinks last night. The the bar tender was awesome and the drinks were great and reasonably priced. We did not have a reservation, but were seated pretty quickly. Our server was awesome. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer and they were the best I've ever had. I ordered French onion soup, smoked ribeye medium rare and a loaded baked potato. The onion soup is usually outstanding, but this time it was pretty bland and was basically onion broth and cheese with hardly any onions. The main course arrived it was not very warm and the loaded baked potato looked like it had been sitting under the warmer for hours. The smoked ribeye cut was tasty but very tough...not what I'm used to from Mo Brady's. The Hostess offered a new cut. Everyone else at the table was already finished when it came out and it was rare. I didn't want to send it back again and asked for a box. Everyone else said their food was great... two fried catfish, another smoked ribeye, and a regular ribeye, all with fryers, and salads... one wedge and three house. We paid and started to leave. On the way out while waiting for some to freshen up I showed the Hostess how under cooked the ribeye was and told her I was really disappointed and that Mo Brady's is one of my favorite places. See just looked back blankly. It embarrasses my wife whenever I say anything critical at a restaurant about the food, but if I'm getting a steak at a "steak house" it should be good. How will they know if something is amiss if no one is willing to say anything. I love Mo Brady's and will go again. I'm sure last night was just an off-night. read more

Was really excited to try the restaurant and when we got sat the menus were sticky. Bread was actually pretty good and the potato skins were too. Ordered the prime rib medium rare and it was brutal. I couldn't cut through it with a knife without sawing at it and when I did it was like chewing bubblegum. Really hope they can figure it out and I'd try again. First time here. Got to say, waiter Jordan was the BEST waiter I've probably ever had. I asked for water and mentioned how thirsty I was and he brought me 3 glasses of ice water - which may not sound like a big deal, but I VERY MUCH appreciated that! He was friendly, well mannered, smiled, and made me feel welcome. I saw him looking at my water level several times as I was eating and was quick to ask if I would like another glass. We've been meaning to try Mo Brady's for quite some time now, and finally went on a Saturday night. At 5:30 we had about a 10 minute wait before getting seated (not bad!) I believe they've recently made some updates and it was nice on the inside! Our server was very friendly, although a tad slow and we had to ask for refills a couple times. I'm guessing she had a lot of tables, but not 100% sure. We started our meal with pulled pork potato skins, they were served with BBQ sauce and ohhh so good! Next up we tried the garlic salad, it was super tasty. Next time I'll try the French onion soup though! Moving on to entrees - I ordered the bacon filet but asked for no bacon - asked if that would be a problem and she said absolutely not. It was delivered to the table with bacon :( I did not choose to send it back as I wanted to eat with my family. I feel that the bacon covers where they would normally season the steak, thus, making the steak quite bland. I was bummed. I also got the loaded potato, and that was great! We will be back! Well we tried Mo Brady's last night. The waitress was very sweet. We had a filet, Ribeye and both Salmons. The best thing out of dinner was the onion rings. We were really hoping to like the food. The steaks were well cooked but tough. The potato skins were okay and the loaded potato was decent. My garlic salad was close to being soup, way too much dressing. We will keep searching but the best we have had in the area is the Cellar in Geneseo. read more

Our dinner started with the blue cheese wedge salad, it was so very delicious, next was our main entree. My wife got the sirloin with mushrooms and was cooked to perfection. The menu had steakhouse options. It's not bad but probably not my first choice. It reminds me a lot of Texas Roadhouse except you can actually see. The bread in the beginning is really good. Warm and soft! The Cabernet wine was pretty sweet so not my favorite but glad they had some wine choices. I got the crab cakes and garlic mashed potatoes. All of it was good but nothing super exciting. I also didn't know there were bell peppers in the cakes and those give me heartburn so I had to pick them out. Another random comment is I felt like the plates were almost too big for some of their dishes. The inside looks great and my in laws mentioned it had recently been redone. Visiting the QC we met several dear old friends for dinner. We now live out west but have been to MoBrady many times in the past. The food was, I'm sorry, but only average. Good flavor and presentation but over priced for what you get. Nicely decorated interior but you can't eat decorations. The facitities appear to have been recently nicely remodeled. My family and I have been coming here for years when we come to visit family. Recently, my family and I surprised my grandma and took her out for dinner. Appetizer: Big Bang Shrimp. Six shrimps were battered/fried and drizzled in orange marmalade and sriracha sauce. The shrimp were very good. The sauces offered a sticky sweet combination with a nice kick. Salad: the famous garlic salad. This is their house salad with homemade dressing. Absolutely delicious! I wish they could bottle their dressing and sell it. I would always keep this dressing on hand. Entree: BBQ burger that had thin onion rings and bacon on the burger. The burger was lightly pink and was very good and juicy. The burger was served with small steak French fries that were nice and crispy. I also helped my grandma with her coconut chicken strips. The chicken was crispy and breaded in coconut flakes. My mom loves their pan seared salmon. So much so that she wants to ask the chef how to make it...although I don't think she understands that the chef wouldn't want to do that because then he'd lose her business. I digress... we stopped by on a Sunday evening, about 45 minutes before closing, so it was pretty empty. The rolls that they brought to the table were tasty but I should've avoided them because I ate two and then couldn't eat much of my meal. I ordered the crab cakes dinner with green beans almondine. I received 4 crab cakes about the size of the base of a water bottle (couldn't think of a better comparison). They seemed to have a little more bread filling than crab. I only ate one and some green beans because I spoiled my appetite with the rolls. They weren't the best crab cakes I'd ever had but they weren't bad either. My mom of course, got her salmon with a baked sweet potato and she was happy. We were in and out before closing time. Kaden our server was great! We are new to the area and were not able to cook tonight so we went out and wanted something other than burgers or fast food. I ordered a steak well done due to allergies and it came out rather red. Kaden noticed immediately when he passed our table and went right away to grab a manager. I would have just left it as it has happened at other placed as some cuts are rather difficult to get well done. I get very sick when it is not well done. They took the steak back to the kitchen and had them cook it to well done. I am extremely grateful as I would have just taken it home and cooked it more myself. It happens and I know this so I never get upset when a cook is unable to get it well done. They handled it better than anywhere else I have ever been as most places just don't care at all. dinner on this Thursday evening with friends was the only highlight, because the food and service fell well short of acceptable first, when you advertise a wedge salad please be sure how to make one previous orders of their wedge salad were exactly as they should be, a triangular section of iceberg lettuce with their selection of toppings.....Not a mixture of greens and to make it worse I was told the plate in front of me was indeed a wedge salad when I asked our server The server returned many minutes later to check on us and I again expressed my disappointment that the salad presented was not a wedge salad I pushed the uneaten salad aside the server's response was that he was sorry they have not met my expectations secondly, other diners were served the incorrect salads but didn't notice until a few bites were taken again, another off the cuff apology thirdly, while we gave express directions as to how split the checks among 3 couples the server screwed that up as well no credit was given for the "wedge" salad $84 for two meals which included 2 drinks is high in my book; and would typically overlook it because of the history of excellent food and service here......but this time there were too many blunders and slow service on a night that was not busy it'll be a long time before considering another meal here I do like the remodeling done the past year; being my third visit since its completion I second guessed myself but I still left $100 to cover the meal since the ribeye was perfect Jim East Moline read more

I ordered the new york strip (rare), which was $30, and it was the blandest, chewiest piece of beef I think I've ever been served at a restaurant. They barely salt and peppered it, used no steak seasoning whatsoever, so most of the "flavor" came from the grill marks. Basically, it tasted like a burnt strip of beef. Definitely overpriced for what you get, I'd expect to get this for $10 at Golden Corral. The side of garlic potatoes was similarly depressing, no salt at all. Tonight the potatoes looked and tasted like the nastiest soggy potato pancake ever, when they are usually crisp and sliced. We couldn't even eat them. The ribs were so dry they were barely edible. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The soup was flavorless. On the plus side, the salad was OK. For over 100 dollars, I will not be back. The tables are illuminated by the soft glow of street lamps, and the leather booths reminiscent of an age long ago are being filled with the original occupants. That's right, 0ver 60% of the customers were over 60. This was odd to me, but then it hit me, just like you know a BBQ place is good by the number of motorcycles parked outside, you can judge a steak house by the number of grandparents attending. HAving been around the block a time or two, and living on a fixed income, this gathering of grandmas and grandpas meant that I was going to get a good meal for a bargain price! What is this gem that I have stumbled upon in the dark? It's Mo Brady's! My wife and I ordered the spinach artichoke dip, and it was amazing! The steak I ordered was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The mashed potatoes were awesome, and the before dinner salads were fantastic! I ordered a caesar salad, and my wife ordered their house garlic dressing. They were both good, but if you have not tried the garlic dressing, do! I think this will be our go-to steak house now, great food at a reasonable price. My last tip- if you need a handicapped parking spot, get there early! Decent sized ribeye, medium at the tip, but cooked medium rare (as I had ordered) in the thicker part of the steak. Half order of onion rings is huge... Perfectly crunchy. I concur with the other reviews on the garlic salad. Dressing on the side is just right. Originally ordered the clam chowder for the side, but it tasted like someone dumped an entire box of salt into it! Exchanged it for mashed potatoes which came dry with skins mashed in. Fine for me since I used the juice from the steak to moisten the potato. I'm not a fan of standing in line to pay the bill... Especially at a midrange steakhouse. Minor irritation, but I was able to catch the cashier en route to another table and she gladly accommodated.
