Total fail on Mothers day. I ordered online and it gave a choice of times. So I picked 5.30 When I arrived there were at least 25 people standing randomly outside waiting. I asked around an most were waiting about 45 minutes. So as it was nice out I decided to wait. One poor harried girl was running food out about once every 5 minutes. When I got chilly I went in to see if I could find someone and there were another 30 people waiting inside! The same "runner" took my name twice but never came out to say what was going on.When I finally grabbed her and said I was leaving my food was magically "being cooked now." A harried manager came out and took names and yelled at a customer who asked if they had any method of organizing how food was coming out as he had been there for 2 hours . I NEVER would have ordered if I knew it was that long of a wait TIP: Don't set your order online system up to take more orders than can be done at at a specific time. HIre enough staff for mother's day.Call in more staff. Come out and let people know the problem. Offer solutions. Don't send a young girl out to apologise for the manager. Let your staff eat. She complained the entire time she had not eaten Shut the computer ordering system down when overloaded Come out and offer refunds to those that decide not to wait . Maybe a coupon for another day. You totally lost me as a customer on this one unless you do something to appease me. read more

Exquisite service! Had the chicken parm, (Bri our server recommended it), and it lived up to the hype...very tasty, juicy, flavorful, large portions. Nice crispy crust on chicken, sauce was very good, and it was smothered in fresh mozzarella. The apps were great, we had clams casino and calamari with fra diavolo sauce, which was some of the best we have tasted in a long time. They were very accommodating while ordering, and we were able to create our own pasta dish also . We had leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day, too. We will definitely be going back. We stopped in here for an early lunch on a Monday. Our server was very friendly and the service was quick. The food was only so-so. My niece had the chicken parmigiana which was good. I tried the stuffed eggplant special with a side of pasta. While the flavor of the eggplant was good, I have never had so much sauce on my meal in my life! Very good place to eat. I dont go here as much as I would want to, but it is so wonderful. The servers are always so nice and the food is delicious. I usually get the crab pasta with red sauce and they know exactly what I want. The rolls and the salad are so good. I really like it. I like the mood that is set in the place. Basta Pasta is pretty high up on my list for favorite Italian restaurants. Everything always tastes fresh, and the staff is always polite. They also have a pretty decent sized bar. I am amazed at the quality of the food here. While a small chain this location has incredible food and friendly service. Although the food was great the service was a bit off Saturday night. We had reservations for 4 at 730 and we ended up waiting 25 minutes to be seated. That's my main complaint. As for meals, I had the lamb chops- very good. Wife had some seafood over pasta dish which she enjoyed. Son had scallops which were delicious and daughter had gluten free rigatoni. Had dinner here last night. The crab soup was excellent. There were four people in our group. Two had the fish and crab cake dinner special, which they loved. Two others had salads which were excellent. Our waitress, Penelope, provided excellent service and was a delight. We really liked going to the Fallston Location, but after the last two dinner services we had..... I feel they have lost their quality of service and food. They had a special, sorry don't recall the name of it, but it had linguine, mushroom, wine sauce that was very good, with chicken that should of been thin not soo bulky on plate, also topped with a provolone slab of cheese and a tomato that you would find on a burger cold, not a very good presentation, i put it to the side and just enjoyed my linguine. Another night, they were severely under staffed, the calamari was over cooked and greasy, My Husband really loves their Risotto Milanese, but this time we both thought it was horrible and could not eat it, it was extremely runny and had no taste. Told the waitress and she didn't seem to care. So we paid our bill and just left. That does not give you a feeling of coming again. I really enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere, service, and food was yummy. I got veal parmesan with pasta and enjoyed it. That being said, I do think the quality of the food is not high enough to warrant the prices. My wife and I have been going to Basta Pasta for many years. Our favorite takeout meal is their chicken marsala. However, I'm sorry to say we won't be ordering carryout or likely to eat their anymore. Regardless of the Covid pandemic, we notice every tme we order the CM, it tastes different each time.....the sauce is runny sometimes, very few mushrooms & tastes odd. It's apparent that they don't give the sauce ingredients adequate time to cook & meld together. Also, the takeout lettuce portions are becoming smaller each time; the majority of their lettuce portions are the clear hearts & not the healthier green leafy portions. Lastly, two CM meals cost us $47. Way too expensive for the portions we receive and the fact we never know if the meal will taste good when we pickup our order. Sorry Basta, it's been a crapshoot. We won't be returning until you return to the days when you took pride in your restaurant & produced very good food at a reasonable price. read more

Called ahead to see the wait time. They said approximately 10 minutes. Got seated pretty quickly ( less than 10) . Got salad and breadsticks right away . I was pumped to visit Basta Pasta again, but was disappointed by the experience. Walked in and 3 hostesses were stationed looking confused where to seat us even though the place was pretty empty. The manager finally took hold if the situation and seated us. The water we were served was cloudy and tasted like saline water. Gross! We were scared to send it back because we certainly didn't want to take a sip of that again! The waitress we had was so slow and took forever to take our orders, bring our food, and even worse-she took forever to settle our bill. There were many servers who looked bored out of their mind standing and chatting it up amongst themselves in the back, so the poor service was even more frustrating. The pizza was pretty good but nothing to brag about while the cream of crab soup was quite tasty. I will not be visiting again anytime soon that is for sure. read more

We have been there several times before and have loved it every time !! Tonight we went out for my Parents Anniversary. We were seated and our Sever was named Alex. He approached us moments after we were seated. It must have been Sports night because all the servers were wearing Ravens jerseys. I told Alex that the Ravens won and was pretty happy to hear that. We had three different meals. My mom had tonight's special which was Blue Crab Ravioli, I had Crab Pasta and my Pop had Chicken Marsala. We all loved our meals. Before the meals we had Salads and my folks said it was even better this time than in the past. Alex was very attentive. Checking on how we liked our food and refilling my tea. He also inquired if we wanted dessert. We said no. We were pretty full from dinner. The portions are of a decent size. Me and my Mom finished ours, my Pop took part of his meal to go. Amazing meal and fantastic service! We were in town for a Soccer Tournament and needed somewhere to eat between games. There isn't much in the area, and I must say my expectations were low. I was amazed at the menu. I actually had the best Corned Beef and Cabbage meal I've ever had. It WAS St. Patrick's Day, so they offered this as a special, and it was AMAZING! Went to Basta Pasta last weekend. As usual, the restaurant was clean and servers on the ball. I ordered the soft crab caprese. It was outstanding. The soft crab was pan fried. The motzerella was fresh and creamy. My compliments to the chef for a wonderful dish. We visit this restaurant frequently and have NEVER had bad food. It is always fresh. went to Basta Pasta for dinner on Valentines Day. Ok I know places are busy but they took reservations. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we were not seated until 8:35. That was soo rediculous. We were not offered anything but a 1/4 glass of wine and nothing for the starving children we were with! Everyone was crammed into the entry way of the restraunt. As soon as we sat down we ordered and our food was out relatively fast, but it was soooo hot we wondered if it was microwaved. This is a great place for dinner. My husband and I have eaten here more than 15 times in the past year, and never had a bad experience or "just so meal." with the regular menu or the specials. The food, service, and staff are all exceptionally good. We asked them to cater appetizers and several entrees for my wedding celebration, and received an incredible number of compliments on the food - crab balls, meatballs, shrimp (huge, yet very tasty). My wife and I frequent this place often, as we are right down the street. I usually have no complaints about anything, and I love the location and atmosphere. However, I am getting sick and tired of getting carry out, which is always two dinners, only to get home and find out I only have one salad instead of two, and one order of bread sticks instead of two (salad and bread sticks come with a dinner). I could take 3-5 minutes to go back and get them, but why should I have to? Get your carry out operation in order, Basta Pasta, or I will take my business to the new Baldwin Meals. We love the meals from Basta Pasta. My fiance works nearby and will order our meals to go for pickup after work on Fridays. Today, he ordered our food an hour before he was to get there. When he arrived at Basta Pasta, not only was the food not ready, they couldn't find the order. They looked around and finally found the order. They offered to make the meals and appetizer, however the last time he ordered, the food was not ready and it took 25 minutes until he got it. The place barely had any customers either time. This could be understandable if the place was busy, however at 3:30 pm, it was practically void of customers. We live an hour away from the restaurant and it was not worth the wait, especially since this happened before. I told my fiance to call the manager. He spoke to the manager and the manager was very nonchalant about the poor service. He only said he will have a talk with the person who took the order. So much for customer satisfaction. I'm sure this won't sway anyone's decision to not go to Fallston Basta Pasta, but maybe it will make management more cognizant of their poor service and attitude. I do know two people who won't be patronizing this restaurant again. read more
