Very disappointed to have driven 40 minutes to eat there when their website says they are open till 9:00 PM on Wednesday night only to find out that they close at 8 PM. This is supposedly the best place to get crabs in Harford County. It is an old little restaurant that has two sides, a dining room and a little fish market. They are located in a little shopping center with a parking lot. The dining area is a little small but a bunch of tables. The staff is friendly and attentive. Some meals come with a side salad which was nice, they had plenty of dressings to choose from. They serve soup of the day as well. They had little fried crab wontons my friend said was really good. They looked crispy and you know the meat is fresh. I had the shrimp scampi and it may have been one of my top 5 favorite shrimp scampis I have ever had. The shrimp was fresh and not over cooked. It was not chewy and it was easy to cut into. I am not usually crazy about angel hair pasta but the flavors with it made it so good. The garlic bread on the side was a great touch to this dish. I loved it. My boyfriend had a burger and really liked it, the fries were cooked just right. It was an enjoyable dinner! read more

As the saying goes, "when in Rome" and so we just had to try crabs while in Maryland. And we sure got the experience here! This is a small venue but was able to accommodate our large group of 9, including two kids. TWe were immediately seated and the table was draped in brown paper. I had never eaten at a seafood restaurant so I didn't know what to expect, and I was concerned about table manners. But I quickly learned that essentially goes out the door here. Seriously, everyone is there to dig in, literally, and just have a good time. The kids entertained themselves with the mallets while we feasted. We started with calamari and a dozen+ hard shell crabs for the table. A perfect way to pass the time as we waited for our main course. Speaking of, I had a fried crab cake with a side of fries and onion rings. I'd recommend ordering a side of butter for dipping the crab. We have visited Madonna Seafood several times over the past three years and have never been disappointed with the meals nor the service. We have also purchased gift cards to give to our friends at Christmas. That changed Wednesday afternoon when we stopped by to get a quart of Cream of Crab Soup. When we arrived home we ate it and were greatly disappointed. There was virtually NO crab meat in it. Our party of two arrived a little after 430pm on a July Saturday afternoon. We were told a 10-15 minute wait which turned out to be about 20 minutes. I opted for the AYCE crabs for $39.99. I was the only one eating crabs at my table. Our server brought out 8 crabs for me to start. Then halfway through, she offered me another tray. I asked her for just four crabs. They seasoning was probably the beat I've ever had. Loved the loaded Old Bay and coarse salt flavor. The AYCE crab special comes with a bowl of soup (a $6.00 value.) There are three soups from which to choose: Maryland Crab, Cream of Crab and Creamy Asparagus. I opted for Maryland Crab. It did not disappoint. Full of vegetables and great crab seasoning. Two hour time limit on AYCE crabs. Lots of great menu items too. Would like to come back another time to try something different. By 630pm, there were plenty of seats available and no wait. We got there at a good time and we're seated immediately. We both got AUCE crabs with the Cream of Crab soup. I personally am very picky when it comes to Cream of Crab soup and it just didn't do it for me. Barely any meat and the taste was off. My friend loved it though. The crabs weren't bad persay they were just very very tiny. Tbh not worth the work to get all the meat out to make it worth the price. I told my friend I'd rather go elsewhere and buy 6 each medium/large crabs for a few bucks more. That would've been better for me personally. The waitress was nice but you could tell she was busy. The restaurant itself got very busy soon after we were seated so we arrived at a great time. I think it was like 1 or 2pm. I don't think I'll be going back but it's only been a week and my friends already gone back a second time so she obviously enjoyed it. read more

Greetings, Let me start off by saying that the service was excellent. Ashley M served our dinner and she was delightful, friendly, prompt and made a fresh pot of coffee for my enjoyment. We have always had good service at Madonna's and yesterday was no exception. Thank You Ashley M. We have been dining at Madonna's Seafood Restaurant for several years and have always had a tasty meal and good service. Yesterday was an exception. We dined late in the afternoon and had a late lunch. My wife had prime rib, which in the past has always been good. Yesterday's Prime Rib was overly salted and peppered plus it was chewy. A lower quality than usual. She had Brussels Sprouts as a side and they were overcooked and bitter. I had the mea tloaf which is usually very good and satisfying. Yesterday it was different. The flavor was strong but I am not sure if it was the gravy or the meat. I hope that Madonna's has not started using prepared Sysco food. We certainly plan on returning. These two meals may have just been an anomaly. It is a seafood restaurant so perhaps we should choose something from their variety of tasty seafood next time. Regards, Sam read more

The food is always very good, but the portions are getting smaller and smaller and the prices keep up. The dish with pasta was very good, but it was on a small side and not that and spaghetti is very cheap and not that much of that either. I've noticed in the last year. Restaurant was very clean, hostess and waitress were very kind. Wait was only approximately 10 minutes even with them being very busy. The cream of crab soup was over spiced with Old Bay or what ever seasoning they use to the point it should have been called cream Old Bay. My wife had a chicken dinner which she said was good. I had the two Crab cakes which were a good size for the price. I had sides of macaroni and cheese and stewed tomatoes. Neither of which were hot more like warm at best. The Mac & cheese was over cooked(pasta soft) and flavor was rancid! wife tried it as well and did not like. I ate one crab cake of the two with the tartar sauce. It was gross tasting like blue cheese and maybe a hint of dill. At that point I was not feeling well! I was very surprised and a bit disappointed in the flavor of the food. Run away! Go somewhere else. J-ville grill for pizza, and Wargos for seafood and crab cakes. Hell, I would even pick Highs in stead of this place, and actually did at the advice of their own staff. I generally don't write reviews unless its awesome or atrocious. This place has become the latter. I'm a physician, it's not like I can't go anywhere I choose, and I'll never go back here; and the department of health needs to come place cameras in the back and see what goes on. Seriously, run somewhere else! Over priced and under quality! Rude to customers. Sadly I grew up in the area, Like 40 years, 4 miles away, been here a while. This place was always a bit on the pricey side, but it was local. Now, it's overpriced, and under quality. The manager is a jackass, and the owners son who runs the place has no sense of ownership. Mistreatment and abuse of the waitstaff by management and borderline sexual harassment is apparently par for the course there. I'm by no means some bleeding heart liberal, but I wouldn't let my daughter work there. They do not care about their customers, and I would not be surprised if they are spitting on your food. Wait staff was super friendly. Service was fast. I am always drawn to the seafood platter at seafood restaurants. This was probably one of the best I have ever had. Crab cake was superior jumbo lump. Everything was cooked perfectly and not drowning in butter. We also got fried oysters wrapped in bacon. I'd never had them before, and I can't say I am a fan. In this time of COVID-19, with all the craziness and closures, this place is handlin it's business with a full on carry-out only service that is working like a well oiled machine. This stomach is superbly impressed with the pizza at this "seafood" shop. Yes, that's right... I growled out about their pizza. Oh, and the deviled eggs are da bomb too. I have also tasted the fried soft shell crab sandwich, the cheesesteak sub, and the Maryland crab soup in a bread bowl (all totally awesome too), but the best kept secret at this joint is THE PIZZA! Overpriced for what you get, and for God's sake, make sure you verify your phone order with whatever young ditz that answers the phone, otherwise you may not get what you thought you ordered. All you can eat crab night. Overpriced for the crab qual. Party of 4. Soups way to salty. First tray of crabs were fine, Mediums. Second tray smalls, light weight and pretty grungy looking. Taste on second tray I rejected as the appeal and fullness were definitely lacking. I would head to Conrad's Crabs in Jacksonville. Brought my husband home 2 broiled crab cakes. He gave them a 4 out of 10. He loved the ones from The Local so much better. Will not be returning to Madonna Seafood. Just an update, I vomited and had stomach pains the next day. read more

Madonna seafood has great crab dip but one thing that bothers me if you get the cream of crab soup with your meal they won't let you take it with you if you don't finish it. If it came with the meal I ordered then why can't I take it? When I asked that question the server got nasty and said we can't do that. I then asked what do you do with the soup I didn't finish and she said throw it away! If that's true then why can't I take my soup?! That seems weird to me and I'm almost scared that they put it back in the pot back there so I won't be going back. It's a shame. read more
