We moved into the area a few months ago and have been meaning to get here and now wish we had come sooner . We sat at the kitchen bar and had fun getting to know the owners of this gem . The only dish that is not photographed is the one we were most excited about and ate so fast was the pasta bolognese. We asked if we can get a container of sauce to go it was so good but they don't want to go that way which I can respect and just keeps us going back for more ! Can't wait !

Kitchen bar, a really cool place to watch the chef work. She's really friendly too!

This great restaurant has a really cool vibe, a great staff, and the chef and kitchen staff are really passionate about their food. I love the kitchen bar where you can sit and watch the chef and kitchen. Staff create the magic that they serve! The dishes are wonderfully presented and delicious! The portion sizes are great. We opted for the Ramen and the Pad Thai, both absolutely delicious and so good that I finished my Ramen, which was a lot and ended up eating a third of my wife's Pad Thai. So so good! The chef's was fantastic, she came over twice to make sure we were happy and satisfied. We are from out of state, but will definitely return when we travel to the area again. If I was local, I would be there as much as possible. This is a great place to eat and meet some great people. I highly recommend Bastard Restobar.

    Fettuccine bolognese. Greasy

I was in the Navy. Pacific Fleet. Lumpia was everywhere. Restaurants and street vendors. A dozen for $3. I've been searching for authentic Lumpia ever since. This wasn't it. Tasteless except for the salt. Menus states serving size as 5. I received 2 cut into 5 pieces. Also ordered Fettuccine bolognese for $32. For that price I expected enough for 4 people. I didn't & thank goodness. It was greasy. I've never experienced greasy pasta before but I'm telling you it was greasy and tasteless. Next time I'll go to Massie's. You know you're getting a good meal there.

    Baklava Cheesecake with two cherries.

Ordered the Baklave cheesecake through DoorDash because the curiosity was killing me. I thought I'd love it way more than I did. I think it would be better with pistachios rather than walnuts and for the price you'd think you'd get more than two cherries. I like that they have unique items on their menu.

On Friday we were out and about and needed to forage, so we at random ended up at The Bastard Restobar ( https://www.bastardrestobar.com/ ) because they list Lumpia on their menu. It is a small place, not far off of Bay St near the circle in Glens Falls. It has an open kitchen so you can watch them cooking. Everything was really delicious! It was also hot, and fresh. And, the portions were huge. My wife had a fried rice and I had a Lo Mien. Since then, we have been using our left overs as sides to a protein. Tonight we finished it up, making a total of FIVE plates that looked just like this in addition to our 2 original meals. Talk about huge portions! Also, the Chef made rounds and checked in with each table of guests. I love that. It was very, very good and I recommend you give it a try.

What a scrumptious GEM!!! Don't miss the seafood pancakes: best EVER! We also had a special Kimchi stew that was sooooo yum Then there was an incredible chilled semolina pudding with cardamom and a hand-whipped honey cream that was so special. When you find yourself near glens falls, this is a must-try byo dining experience chefs kiss

Bastard Chicken with date, mushrooms on parsnip puree. delicious!

What an amazing restaurant and open on a Monday night!! The wait staff was so warm and friendly. Was such a lovely inviting atmosphere. Everything looked amazing on the menu it was hard to decide what to order. We had the lumpia for appetizer, the scallop special and bastard chicken. Everything was amazing. We had the ginger mocktail. Was delightful. We will surely be back as we want to try other items on the menu!! Best restaurant I have been to in years.

We got the chefs sampler, the Lumpia and the chicken Bastard mini Bao buns. Food was amazing and didn't disappoint.

There's a small section right up front of seasonal fruit/vegetables & some items on sale. This Korean grocery store is on a busy strip of Rt. 9, not too far from Latham Traffic Circle, across from a car dealership, and shares a small lot with Tamarind Thai, a Chinese Take-out Restaurant, and a vape store. There's more parking in the back. It's a lot larger and homier than it looks on the outside. The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). There's aisles of snacks & candy, cooking sauces, flour & yam noodles, Korean gim/seaweed, Chili powder, Frozen seafood & rice cakes, bags of rice, dried kelp & anchovies for stock, barley & Cintron tea, banana yogurt drinks. There's other Asian products too (Thai curry paste, some Chinese & Filipino sauces). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else). Oh and Yes! You can buy a Neoguri Ramen & Chapaghetti Ramen and make some noodles like the film Parasite. ...didn't see if they had frozen beef. Not sure if it's due to the pandemic, but sometimes they're out of stock on things, so it's better to call ahead. I realized that Wal-M--t carries Shin Black Ramen now because they were always out. Overall, a really nice find and I love wandering around & looking at all the products. The staff is so kind, their friends seem to stop by often & chat in the back kitchen/fridge area. Check them out!

Jang Tuh seems to have pretty much all the things that may not be essential but make life even more enjoyable. The prices seem reasonably competitive and stock level seems stable, so they're set to stay on regular rotation for me.

From the moment our party of five came in (we walked in at four 'o clock as soon as the doors opened), we were greeted warmly by staff and shown to our table immediately. We had a some of their happy hour starters, called dynamite bombs, crab rangoon and miso soup to begin with. It was all delicious, and came quickly. Our main dishes ,which were mostly sushi rolls, came beautifully displayed on a sushi boat. We also ordered some Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup, again all of it was delicious and prepared perfectly. The best part of the evening was when our waitress overheard us talking about our daughter's birthday, and surprised us at the end of the meal with a platter of small desserts and then sang Happy Birthday to us! The cost of the meal was very reasonable, the service so friendly and enthusiastic, I would recommend this place to anyone.

(not too sure) The tofu soup I got was mild-lightly spicy and gosh it was the spiciest soup I've ever gotten and I usually eat this and other spicy foods perfectly fine! Wasn't the best for me. Alternatively the beef soup felt a bit bland but my friend liked it. Main complaint is not much beef in the soup and it tasted very tough. alternatively not much seafood either, just tiny small bits of cheap shrimps which were a bummer. Only good thing was the decent price and decent free side dishes (not many) of which only broccoli tasted good. Food took forever to come so side dishes were a life saver although they also were never refilled which at traditional places they are. Main thing: the service was quite bad... from the moment we walked in, we didn't feel welcome as no one welcomed us, dirty tables were everywhere (like in those video games you play to clean up), and we waited awhile at the counter looking at menus until someone greeted us with an attitude yelling that counter is only for to-go and we should've just sat down if we're dining in... she huffed and sat us down, surrounded by the dirty tables. We asked if we could sit elsewhere but as big as the restaurant was, she still said half of it was closed for dinner (I know other places do the same but they were kind enough to let us sit in that area when requested) and the reason why this time, was because we were literally sitting surrounded by dirty dishes all around us - which they never cleaned up the entire hour we dined here! Very unpleasant view-never have I ever! Even our current table was sticky. And the food and service took forever. She seemed very annoyed when we ordered and whenever we asked for water or refill side dishes and gave attitude like we obviously need to wait for her to appear and be free to even ask which she was rarely seen. I never saw her treat other customers like the same way she treated us, for them, she was very patient and kind and offered menu options and even personal talk. Seems like she doesn't like tourists, just regulars. Anyways she was rarely seen throughout the meal and so I just sucked up the not so good food and we finished and took awhile to get the check. That was the only point in the interaction she seemed to be present in the restaurant. Other times she was nowhere to be seen. When paying, she loudly exclaimed what do you want to tip? In an attitude saying that, we had to tip, and it had to be a sufficient amount otherwise she'd be upset - which she was because service was not good. Even when we left and said bye, she gave us no word back and just another one of those scowled looks. Only one lady working the front and she was barely present and not pleasant. Overall food really isn't bad but it isn't amazing either. If this cuisine is what you're craving go for it, it's fairly priced. I would support a small business. But don't expect a clean restaurant or friendly service - unless youre a regular or fits the server preferred demographic. Not the best experience for me. Whole heartedly believe if service was better this could be a solid place!

I may be part of the Asian club but I'm not a part of this particular inner circle. Being Filipino…read more(or being human, for that matter), I tend to compare and contrast cuisines based on my own experience. With several Asian cuisines, rice seems to be the preferred carb. Korean black rice differs primarily in appearance - purple hue due to the mix of black and white rice. Gimbap (Kimbap) - is often described as Korean sushi. In doing some research, there's a distinct difference between the two. The seasonings used to flavor the steamed rice are salt and sesame oil. They are usually stuffed with cooked protein (beef, pork, tofu, fishcake) and pickled vegetables. They seem to be a larger diameter than maki sushi as well. Good? You betcha. Tonkatsu lunch is a favorite....think German pork schnitzel over black rice. The sauce seems to be Tteokbokki (glutinous rice cake) derived - sweet and slightly spiced. There are usually banchan (side dishes) accompanying the meal: kimchi, cucumber pickle, daikon, and eomuk (fish cake). They provide added contrast to the meal. The service has always been efficient and cordial every time I've picked up my order here.

My hubs and I had never been to Kraverie before and were happy to try a new place. I am glad that we did because we made up about 75% of the patrons on a Thursday night, which made the bar's owner quite happy. I checked out the menu before we went. OK, typical bar food but with an emphasis on kimchi (I'm not a fan). They serve chicken wings "nice or naughty (spicy)" and they were good. The dumplings (we call them potstickers) were typical, also fine. My hubs liked his taco (street-size). I ordered their Steak Salad. A disgrace. Bagged lettuce accompanied by two small slices of cucumber. The 'steak' was 1/4" size square pieces of dried out meat whose texture was like shoe leather. It was very hard to find the 'steak' in the salad which is why I didn't bother photographing it. I am being kind here. It was awful. The tables are so close together that I felt the back of the person at the table in front of me (we were back-to-back) touching me the entire time. My spouse was challenged eating his food because his chair didn't fit at the table because of the person behind him. WTF. They had one server for the entire room which included perhaps 10 tables plus the bar. This was clearly insufficient and service suffered (we don't blame her). We went to support our musician friend.
