So last week me and my boyfriend decided to go out for a little date brunch and I automatically knew I wanted batch since I've been craving their Nashville chicken! The chicken sliders were a little dry & the egg filling for the deviled eggs a little salty (these are my only complaints) but everything else was delectable. During my childhood, one of my favorite cereal box characters would enticingly say "follow your nose." As soon as you walk into Batch, you will be enticed by the wafts of cinnamon and deliciousness that the kitchen is preparing. Batch is a charming southern style restaurant with a modern appeal. It's reminiscent of foodie towns like Greenville, SC. You can expect to find classic southern recipes that have been reinvented by the chef to appeal to a generation of people who demand a bit more from their brunches, lunches, and dinners. They even make their own version of cinnamon whisky. They offer a beautiful selection of alcohol including some decent scotch and bourbon as well as all the things you'd want to drink on a hot summer day. I also decided to try the black truffle macaroni and cheese which comes piping hot with lots of gooey cheese and a giant spoon so you can shovel it in. I loved it. The atmosphere is the right balance of fun and relaxed. The service is energetic and engaging meaning they didn't hover, the other servers looked out for patrons who didn't belong to them when the other was busy. I admire this kind of teamwork. They seem to understand that one diner's positive experience means more overall business as opposed to the one tip at a time mentality. I highly recommend putting Batch on your list to try. This corn meal waffle melts in your mouth, and the whipped butter puts this way over the top. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't even love corn meal waffles. Batch was a really fun place to grab a casual lunch on our way traveling north up the coast. The atmosphere is that of an upscale sports bar with a southern flair. We sat at the bar and had extremely friendly and attentive service from the bartender. The menu is a bit pricey, but the quality of the food/alcohol and the portion sizes are congruent with the price and location. I had two drinks (their twist on an amaretto sour as well as their "new" fashioned), plus a sample of their boozy house-made root beer, and they were all delicious. The deviled eggs were AMAZING. The salad was huge and I loved that it came in a huge bowl where I could mix it with the lemon vinaigrette I ordered on the side. For a main I ordered the Salmon, which came with Brussel Sprouts and Quinoa. I ordered the salmon medium rare and I would say it was a tad over done. The quinoa with almonds was tasty. Everything in West Palm feels like a chain. It's a lot of restaurants telling you that "they do things differently around here" and then they give you the same product and same mediocre service as the place next door. I picked Batch while walking by because it had the cutest vibe but we weren't expecting much. We were greeted by Rachel, the manager, at the host stand. She didn't just lead us to our table, she walked with us. She asked us if we were from the area and what brought us in. It was all small talk but felt genuine. She waited until we were seated to hand us or menus and it didn't feel rushed. Gabby, our server, showed confidence and love for the place when she introduced herself. They make everything from scratch here and Gabby sold us on the eggrolls and mac and cheese to start. However, before those could arrive, Rachel came by with an order of biscuits for us. These were absolutely to die for and the gesture was very kind. The eggrolls, bbq sauce, and ranch were the highlight of our food adventure here. You could tell this was all freshly made. We both ordered burgers and those were very good, hearty, and not greasy. Their house sauce B1 added a perfect element of smokiness to the burger. Gabby's service ensured we always had refills, never had to ask for anything, and the table was always clean. Rachel stopped by and checked on us and also gave us cute glasses to take home with us and coupons to come back for happy hour for some "off menu snacking". Our waitress was busy so one of the hosts (or owner?) came to grab our drink orders; he seemed a bit offended we didn't get alcohol? Maybe not, but that's the impression we got. For our entrees, I tried the mac attack with fried chicken while my friend opted for the house favorite chicken n' waffles. I liked the chicken on my mac attack but was not impressed by the rest of the dish. Not sure if rotini is the right type of pasta to use for mac n' cheese? Also, the cheese mixture was at the bottom of the dish so I had to mix it myself and there definitely was not as much as I had liked. My friend really enjoyed the chicken on his dish; the meat was moist and the skin was crispy. The waffles however were very soft and broke apart easily with handling. Great experience to go with family and friends! Batch is located near the Brightline and City Place in West Palm Beach. It seems to be located in the central downtown-like area. Not much street parking, but a lot of public parking and garages in the area. If you're driving, I would think about where to park in advance, as it was definitely a bit more crowded on a Friday evening. We made reservations on Open Table in advance for 6, and it worked out quite well. Sat us down immediately. We were in our last night in West Palm and we're looking for a good experience on Clematis Street. We found it at Batch New Southern and we're truly sorry that we had not found it earlier on. The restaurant itself was bright and inviting, and get to the food in a minute. The highlight was our server, a lovely young woman who was helpful and attentive and made the evening more enjoyable. Don't leave without ordering the biscuits as starters, even if you can't finish your dinner. These are hot and made to order and worth every calorie. We stumbled upon this place before heading to a concert and are happy we did so. Our server gave us the run down of the restaurant; they're a scratch kitchen that uses locally sourced ingredients, they make their own sodas & have fresh squeezed juices. We ordered 2 blackberry lemonades, the Mac attack with grilled chicken and the dirty south burger with loaded fries. The lemonades tasted fresh & tart! All I could say about the food is WOW! Food was phenomenal. I'd say the best burger I've ever had to be honest. At first I was afraid the cheddar sauce on the burger would be too much and too messy so I had ordered it in the side, but when I added it on myself, I regretted my decision as I knew this sauce belonged on this burger and was worth any mess it caused. The fries were really good but would've liked them slightly crispier to counteract with the cheese sauce. The Mac attack was also super delicious. We didn't have time to enjoy dessert but I am happy to see there's a location closer to me so I go again sooner. Only downfall of this location was the bathroom; Trash can's lid was on the floor when I entered, one toilet not flushing and one sink not working. There is a nearby parking garage where I only paid $1 and was there about an hour and a half or street parking available as well. The service here was lacking, I'm not sure if it's because it's outside but the waitress was not attentive and the place was not packed. Never got juice we requested, we had to ask for silverware after we were served, and condiments as the table was not ready to receive patrons it would seem. Also had to ask for refills on the mimosa. One person did the unlimited, one had a Bloody Mary and said it was very good and one did not have any alcohol. It was our first visit. We ordered the brunch menu biscuits to start, which were very good and then moved on to the raw oysters. Unfortunately, I ate one and it was spoiled rotten! Not sure if the kitchen tested any that day but they were bad enough, the manager came over and said the oysters would be off the menu for that day, but I had to pay the price for that. Our server tried to make up for it and was friendly but we were too put-off by that point and chose to go across the street for other food options. I understand that these things can happen but I felt the service recovery from the manager was poor...there was no introduction from them (I just assume it was the manager), we were told the oysters were taken off our bill (as they should be) but no apology or offer to make it up, we were just told they weren't going to be sold anymore that day. read more

The jelly was blackberry I think ... ALL really good! I couldn't decide between the burnt ends, the cheeseburger or the chicken sandwich. A manager stopped by and I asked for her opinion. I wasn't feeling it here when we popped in for an early dinner at 5:00pm. We had an Open Table reservation and they didn't even check us in properly, with the system telling us later that we were a no-show. They sat us at one of the half circle tables facing the huge bar. This is quite a large restaurant with many tables inside and out. Our server, came and took our order. He was very short with us, with an odd chip on his shoulder. We asked if they had any light beers, and he quickly said "just blue light!", we we went with that and wine. We asked about the burnt ends without sauce and he quickly said, "I wouldn't order it as it's all about the sauce". Really? So if we want to dip the meat in the sauce instead of it being slathered all over it, it's that bad? We tried to order the baby back ribs and he quickly says, "we're out". I ask why and he says they just ran out of ribs. Really? At 5:00pm on a Friday night of a long weekend you have no ribs?..which is one of maybe only a dozen southern main entrees they serve? Shocking. In the end we went with deviled eggs, Cobb salad, and bacon Brussel sprouts. The deviled eggs were good, but a very strong flavor in the filling, almost like horseradish. The Cobb salad was tasty with lots of bacon, avocado, feta, tomato, eggs, and crispy romaine lettuce. The Brussel sprouts were far too salty to eat, and we tasted no bacon at all. We were in the WPB area and decided to take our pup for a stroll through the area. We decided to get some food and stopped at Batch. We got some outside seating so our pup can have space and the our waitress was really nice and got us some water for our pup to drink.
