Our tour guide, Brett, was fantastic--knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly passionate about organic farming and growing the most delicious fruit. The tasting experience was incredible. We sampled the most delicious papaya, mango, pomelo, mountain apples, and several other tropical fruits--many of which we had never tried before. Every bite was fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. It was not only a treat for the taste buds but also very educational. We left with a much deeper appreciation for the land and the dedication it takes to grow organic produce in harmony with nature. We also took a box of fruit with us to enjoy during the rest of our trip, which kept the experience going for days afterward. If you're headed down the Road to Hana, make sure to stop here. We got to try out papaya, bilimbi, caviar lime, pomelo, sweetsop, durian and so much more! The drive was gorgeous, as always, and Nick is a fantastic guide. We took our 9 year old, and she absolutely loved it. The tour was never tedious or boring for her, and is one of the highlights of her trip. Nick packed us up with fruit to leave with, and we shared it with friends on the beach as part of Thanksgiving. What a hit! Everyone was so amazed by the variety and quality of the fruit, even nearby beach goers stopped by to ask where we got it from. I think Ono will be on the itinerary for many people in the future after that beach outing. The tour is also great for people with limited mobility since most of it is on a golf cart. If you're on a multi-generational vacation here, this is definitely something both young, old and in the middle will enjoy. Also, a review from our child, "I like Ono farms because I got to taste each and every fruit that was in season. It's better than video games. I like the fruit they send us home with. Plenty of variety, I bought mangoes, papaya and lemons today, all very competitively priced and beautifully healthy and juicy. They offer what is ripe and ready so go with the flow. They will be offering farm tours soon and we are looking forward to it so we can get some hints on how to improve our garden with regenerative agricultural tips. They educate, grow and feed our community so please support them and eat organically local fruit n veg instead of imported goods.

We drove by this persimmon farm on Maui 2 years ago, and their fruit looked soooo fabulous, but…read morethey were closed due to the pandemic. This year, we contact the owner Noel (sp?) Hashimoto, and he was very accommodating. The story of how his farm started is available on their website and is an interesting one. We easily set up a time to come visit his farm and buy a small number of his prized persimmons. He and his wife were present when we drove up and they were both delightful people. Very kind, modest, and unassuming - very aloha . His brother's farm is right next door, and they also appear to have great reviews. While visiting, we asked if they had any of their Maru variety persimmons about which I'd read. He was kind enough to cut one in quarters for me and my wife to try at no extra charge. A delicious treat. We bought 3lbs of the fuyu variety and I have eaten two already today. Without doubt the sweetest and best persimmons I've ever tasted. So glad we were able to give them a try and we hope to pay them another visit when we come to Maui again next year at this time. Dhyan has the best coconuts on the island and also the best price!! We went to a lot of places…read morearound the island and couldn't find coconuts quite as spectacular as what he has. Dhyan has a huge selection of coconuts and picks them himself by climbing the trees. So you know he has the freshest and best!! He is a really nice guy and will always pick out the coconut you are looking for. My wife likes the young coconuts with sweet water and soft jelly coconut meat. We seriously came back everyday in order to get our coconut fix. Dhyan also knows a lot about the health benefits of coconuts and was even reading a book about the history. We were so happy to find a place we could depend on to get coconuts and enjoy the taste Maui. You can find him hanging out on Baldwin avenue near the local shops.
