Giant fruit plate (part of tea/fruit tour combo)

** TEA & FRUIT FARM TOUR REVIEW ** I stumbled across this place while looking for tea tours in Maui. They have a lot of different tour options, but I opted for the tea & fruit combo tour that was roughly 2 hours. I actually ended up booking that day because I wasn't sure about the weather. If you DO book it the day of, be sure to call in advance so they can get the tea ready for you. Our tour guide was Gaia and she was so knowledgeable about the farm. It ended up being just me and my husband, which was nice so we could ask all the questions we wanted. After walking around in the grounds, we were sat in a beautiful patio area for our fruit and tea tasting. I thought we would just get small cups but they gave us full on carafes for each of the different teas!! We got 4 hot teas and 1 cold tea ... in addition to a dragonfruit lemonade (I believe you get this with the fruit tasting too). On top of that, we were just expecting a couple pieces of fruit but they gave us a full spread, including multiple different varieties of dragonfruit. It was so cool getting to try all the different options. You do get to taste fruit on just the regular tour too, but from my understanding you don't get quite as much and it's not on a plate. I'm not one to waste tea, but there was no way my husband and I could finish it all in one sitting. Luckily, they gave us to go cups at the end for us to take home the teas. We enjoyed slowly finishing them throughout our trip. You can opt to do just the fruit tour OR the tea tour, but if you're a fan of tea and have the time, I recommend both. I was really impressed at how much tea and fruit we got. At the end of the tour, you have the option to buy some fresh tea in the gift shop.

We came here and did it all. The fruit tour, zip lining and feeding alpacas! We checked in at the parking lot with Cameron our tour guide. It was a small group with only a pair joining my party of 3. Cameron shared cuts of the aloes that grew on site. My fav one was the one that smelled like chicken soup. He said that it helps with skin repair. I applied some on a deep cut on my finger. I kid you not, within two days, the cut was drying up and the dead skin peeled off revealing the fresh new skin. It was magical. We got introduced to all kinds of exotic fruits. We took exhilarating rides on the zip line and got to feed some alpacas. At the end the tour, we were served refreshing dragonfruit lemonade and a fruit platter. The entire staff was super friendly. We all had a wonderful time. This is a great way to spend a few hours, as it checked off a lot of the activities that we all wanted to do like spending money on local businesses, have a thrilling adventure, eat fruits that we don't get on the mainland, and spend time with animals.

My parents and boyfriend and I went here on our first night on the island. We were pleasantly surprised by only having one other group on our fruit tour! The guide, Jacob, was so energetic and knowledgeable about everything on the farm. We also had a sunset dinner with amazing 3 course dinner, with salad, mahi mahi and acai sorbet for dessert. Jacob and his girlfriend Skylar were both so friendly and calm. We also stayed extra long and got a beautiful view of the night sky. You can tell they love their jobs and life on the island. This is a must visit for anyone (maybe not small kids.)

The good: I booked a tour for $35/pp (toddlers/babies are free). Our tour guide was friendly, informative, and super nice. She took photos for all of us. You're told to wear sneakers or close toed shoes but I forgot to inform my group that so we wore sandals that ended up being fine on the tour. It was super interesting to see so many different tropical fruit trees and to learn about how they fruit or what species were invasive. I was very happy to see some soursop in my fruit platter though I'm unsure if they grow them there. The bad: I was hoping to taste some dragonfruit but we were given none because it wasn't in season. It would have been nice to get that disclaimer beforehand I guess. It wasn't a huge miss for me because my family also has dragonfruit plants at home in our backyard. Instead of fresh dragonfruit we got a dragonfruit lemonade but the quantity was super little (about a large shot glass for each person in my group). The fruit platter for a group of two people was the same as the one for our group of four. The special coconut they let us drink from was pretty bland and uninteresting. We also got one coconut for four adults while groups of two people also got one coconut. There was a lot of talk about banana plants but no banana related products in our tastings. We eat banana leaf flowers in my culture so even that would've been interesting for others to try. The interesting: The tour guides are volunteers. Some of them live on the grounds for free in exchange for their work. There are a couple of pet cats on the grounds. The owner is from China.

This place is pretty cool, but not a must-see. Pros: -beautiful view of Lanai -friendly and bubbly tour guide -interesting facts on the tour -fruit tasting at the end Cons: -the tour is only about an hour -the farm itself is very small so you don't get to walk too much in the hour -expensive for what you get -only one fruit box per party, NOT per adult or ticket

Really lovely folks volunteering to grow the fruits from their labor and give back to Maui who also give tours. Not a bad way to learn about the agriculture in Maui. Plenty of parking but sort of hard to find at first with the many long driveways in the area. Look for the sign outside! Also, it's a walking tour, don't forget to wear bug spray and good walking shoes. You are out in the relenting sun of Lahaina so come prepared. The staff was super friendly and did their best to know a lot of facts. However, this is the one area I'd say could improve. It would have been nice if they had a deeper knowledge of the history and agriculture of Maui. Eating the fresh fruit after the tour was amazing! So much fruit! Don't forget to tip your tour guides and thank them for the work they are doing. You can also purchase fresh smoothies after to enjoy on your drive back to town!

This was a very informative tour that was enjoyable and tasty :) Although it's called dragon fruit farm, they have many other fruits/plants there as well including aloe vera, pineapple, bananas, etc Our tour guide did an amazing job explaining all the vegetation that they are growing as well as gave a lot of good suggestion on how to be environmentally friendly. I definitely will be attempting to grow a pineapple once I get back :) On top of the tour, they gave us a lot of fruits to sample as well including a whole pineapple! Before coming here, I hated bananas and didn't realize there was many types including red banana and blue banana. Now I want to try those cause it's supposed to taste like ice cream!!! They also have zipline and hamster ball activity available. Price was very reasonable for the tour and I definitely would recommend checking this place out. It's a great family activity

Pretty awesome experience learning about organic fruits grown on this farm. Keep in mind that dragon fruits are in season from May until November (I came in March, so it was during the off-season), but there are plenty of other spectacular fruits and plants grown on-site. There are also alpaca on their farm, and it was wonderful to be able to feed and interact with them on that part of the tour. There are also wonderful views of Lanai and Lahaina Town down below.

Ask the Community - Maui Dragon Fruit Farm

Is there an age limit? My family and I would like to visit but are wondering if we are able to take a 6 month old and a 4 year old?

Is dragon fruit in season yet? Planning to take a tour on 6/14/19...

    Yes! June through November. :)

Can we buy dragons fruits from here? Or is it more of a guided tourist attraction only?

Its a guided tour, very enjoyable. If dragon fruit is in season, you can buy them.

Do you have to book ahead, or can you just show up and pay to go on the tour?

We recommend that you make reservations for the tours in advance. That way we know you and your group are coming and have everything ready when you arrive. However, if you do just show up and we have room to include your group on the tour, we are… Read more
