I love bath & body works! It's been a long time since I have been in one. They have sooo many fragrances for body sprays, lotions, candles, hand sanitizer and hand soaps. I love that they sell decorated plug ins. They offer testers in each fragrance. The store is clean, organized & staff is helpful & friendly. I don't visit this location as often, because it's not as convenient as some other locations. The employees were absolutely wonderful at this location. They were extremely helpful and when I smelled a scent that made my nose irritated they offered something else to try to cleanse my senses. This is by far the BEST Bath and Body Works location in San Diego! The team here is super nice, friendly, and helpful. Whenever I had an issue with anything, they would try to find a way to help me, even when it's totally my fault. I have been to the Fashion Valley location as well as the Plaza Bonita one. They pale in comparison when it comes to customer service and atmosphere. The manager Alex is a true gem, she's always brings good energy and supports her team to make your shopping experience that much better! Is it just me or has Bath & Body works really upped their game? I hadn't been there in years and wandered in looking for stocking stuffers before Christmas. Apparently they merged with a candle making company and they have a whole new line of fabulous smelling products. Now this location specifically was quite nice. Convenient location in the shopping center with a lot of parking nearby. The woman who helped me with my purchase suggested a great men's scent that my guy loves. It comes in a candle, room spray, body wash and body spray! She also suggested that I download the app for a 20% off coupon for that purchase and told me to check back on the app frequently for special discounts on items through the year. I've checked the app twice now and gone back both times. The first time they had a scan code for their essential oil infused candles for &5.95 each. They are usually $15!!! I drove myself right up to the shopping center and got one for everyone on my Christmas list. The next time there was a scan code for all hand soaps in the store for $3 and 75% off all holiday scents. I stocked up on soaps for the bathroom and kitchen for THE ENTIRE YEAR. Plus I got a whole bunch of delightful holiday lotions. Then when I got to the counter and pulled up the app to scan the deal, there was an additional 20% off scan code. SCORE!!! I was given a gift of men's body wash from this company a few years back and I really liked it. I came in to look for the same brand but they no longer carried it so the young lady working the floor introduced me to their new line of body washes for men. The employee showed me a varied of new products, I did not know they had so many, and they happen to be having a buy two and get the third one free, so I went for that deal. They were $12.50 each. Is it pricey? I wouldn't know given I do not buy this product that much. Usually my "go to" store. Went in yesterday 01/07 around 5pm. Wasn't greeted at all offered specials or if I needed help finding something? Very rare. As I found my own specials I grabbed a few candles and was looking for some more Bigelow pink tint lip gloss (a staple for many years) I asked Irene for some help and she said "what? I don't know what that is and if we do have it everything's up front" As I waited my turn at the register "Irene" came to ring me up. I asked her once again if they had any of the "pink tint" and showed her mine. I like to have a good stock as I only use this product. After a "sigh" Irene came back to inform me that there was none. I stopped here to see what candles they had on sale after Christmas since I had a gift card and had a good experience. Thankfully I have previously spent a good amount of time smelling the candles so I knew which ones I would and wouldn't like. I was able to go right up to the sale candles and check them out. They had 2 scents that I knew I would like and I picked them up and moved on to the cash register. The line was short and moved super quick. I really prefer the fashion valley location because it has a way larger selection of candles BUT going near a huge mall is not really on my agenda lately, so I like this location instead. The store had done a great job implanting social distancing and making you feel safe. Employees are super nice and friendly and still very helpful while making sure to not make you feel uncomfortable standing too close to you. On one of their big sales days the store did a good job managing the number of people in and out and it didn't feel overwhelming. Too aggressive at the front door. We're supposed to be 6 feet apart and you get attacked before you even walk in. Employees (2x) out front, 3 steps in another employee greets you, a 4th walking around. I get all the things I want to buy, there's one cashier whose signing up someone for a rewards card and talking about customer being pregnant while she's downloading the app. Literally 10 minutes + goes by and they're still chatting. I just said ***** it and put my stuff back and left. Why are there 4 employees on the floor chatting (2 out front, ) and one cashier. It's great to be greeted six times but I want to pay for my purchases not make new friends. How about tell the customers when they walk in to download the app for membership benefits and have 2 Employees on the register. Pumpkin scents are here for the fall. Once again, boyfriend protests because he, like normal humans, dont really care for the scent or flavor of pumpkin but he relented and said I could have my beloved candles and soap during the fall holidays. Hes really the best. So we go in seeing a 'buy three get two' sale. Turns out it is nothing we need but antibacterial hand soaps, my faves, are on sale three for ten. So as we are picking our soaps out, a friendly sales girl asks if we need help. 'Not really, we're just testing scents.' And we move on. We continue to browse around trying to decide what all we need and a different girl comes up and asks if we need help. 'Nope, we're still alright.' As we are discussing out loud, obviously, the things we may or may not need, sales girl number one comes back over and asks how we are doing. O.M.G. We are so effing confused about what scents we like because we havent been buying this soap for our house for a hundred thousand years and since what smell we want to take home is such a hard freaking decision, could you PLEASE assist us with...wait.... NOTHING. Seriously. That makes me want to freak out and choke people. Get away from me right now. There are a hundred little sales girls in a store the size of my bedroom and I presume if I do happen to need assistance which is HIGHLY unlikely I would have little difficulty seeking you out. On that note we quickly paid for our items and left...sans the candles I actually went in for. This place is awesome and clean. Their employees are very friendly and helpful. Came here for the candle day event and they were handing out bottled water for the customers that were waiting in line to get it. They also have employees posted outside to ensure the line is moving smoothly or if any customers have questions. They were open at 6 am during this time and I'm sure they were there earlier than that to prepare and even with that they still have a very positive and cheerful attitude. This store might not be very spacious but it has everything from candles, soaps, lotions, body mists and many more stuff. They were all wearing masks and is enforcing social distancing very well. They have hand sanitizer to use before you get inside and while you are paying in the cashier. This is my favorite location. read more

You're able to smell all of the candles in the store, but for some reason some have a designated tester. I am confusion. I now know based on experience that even if a designated tester candle has a price tag, lost all of its buddies and is the only one of it's kind in stock, that candle is VERY much NOT for sale and you should not touch this forbidden candle. I found out after being confronted and lectured about it while smelling other candles, none of which had testers... I'm not sure if the employee thought either holding this candle next to the other candles I bought would give it delusions of grandeur, or that perhaps my intention was to buy 5 candles and just casually attempt to steal this special one... Either way, explaining these aren't for sale when I try to purchase it would be a normal thing to do. Seeking me out to scold me for removing it, then stare at me blankly like I should apologize for not intuitively knowing the nuances of your unwritten candle laws is pretty weird. If i'm ever early for a movie again and my wife decides our lives simply cannot continue without more scented wax jars, we'll buy them online from our theater seats while we wait to avoid transgressing upon the candle gods working here. read more

When I took the item to this store to have it replaced, this location had the audacity to treat me as some criminal requiring ID(!!) to receive the exact same (but intact) item, despite showing them the receipt for my purchase. The associate's condescending attitude is a sad indictment of the quality of associates B&B hires these days: having the audacity an a non-Brit to call me (2x her age) "love" and failing to hear my concern, instead of constantly interrupting with the same canned policy. My ID is not required for an internal paperwork issue so telling me that the reason is a probability of shrinkage is simply throwing the blame for shoddy workmanship onto the person who paid for it. read more

The associates really do seem like they take happy pills. I mean, they are really, really, nice. How do you get people like that, and keep them like that? Cause it isn't just a few of them, it's like literally all of them! Really, sweet, and I like that they aren't annoyed with my using my coupons all the time. This is my favorite locations (in the Mission Valley Mall) of one of my favorite stores. They are always so helpful and I am on their mailing list and a member of their club with a app. I get great coupons and specials and you can do a special on top of a coupon. They are always stocked and will look for you in blackstock if it's not out and they usually find it. Also if you call except during sales they will hold it for you. They have two half yearly sales one right after christmas and one I think in july. There products are great. Products I use :bubble bath, body wash, lotion, wallflowers wall scents, car scents, the best 3 wick candle ever, foaming hand wash, purse size hand sanitizer and lotion;also bath bombs. The customer service at this particular location is very attentive. Almost like they are overstaffed because each time that I turn around to look at another product someone is there offering to help me out. We go into this location a lot of times before a movie starts. The employees are always so nice. One of the things my wife and I hate is when a salesperson won't leave us alone, since we know what we want. For example, the other day there was an employee named Teri (not sure of the spelling; a young African-American woman). She came over to ask if we needed help. We said no. She told us about a special they had, and made a funny joke after I talked about the peppermint stress relief lotion. She then told us if we needed any help to just ask. It was the perfect way all employees should be. We usually just buy stuff there during the holidays (for various gift bags), and we don't usually buy things right before a movie. So it's nice to just be greeted, and then left alone. She's a great employee, and this is a great store. read more

Very (in my opinion overly) friendly staff, things just everywhere, so many smells, so overwhelming! I must say that the one in the Mission Valley Mall is slightly less intense than I am used to with them, the staff are helpful but the times I have visited they are less in your face, and the deals can be good. I really appreciated that I had an expired coupon they gave me a 3 day grace period to still use.
