Came here on a Saturday morning and the place was packed, but the experience was great from the start. As soon as I walked in, an employee welcomed me, asked what I was looking for, and even showed me around the store. They also offer a complimentary birthday gift up to $10 with any purchase, so I picked up some body lotion and hand sanitizer. Such a nice little perk. The employees: Sterling, Austin, and Jeanette were so nice and helpful during our visit to the Fashion Valley location. Austin was the first that we met. He was friendly, bubbly, and helped me find candles I enjoyed the scent of. Afterwards I went to the hand sanitizers and was looking for a bunch of those. Sterling was there to help us find scents and formulations that we would like best. As I was walking to the checkout, I saw the classic sanitizer holders that were thin and sparkly. They were still in a wrapped, plastic bag and I was like "oh! Is that available to sell to me?" And Sterling was like "yes. Of course. And they're only $2!" He opened the bag and handed one to me. This was the colorless, sparkly one. He informed me that there was a gold and pink version as well. I exclaimed that I had interest in the pink one, but hadn't seen any around, so next time, and went to the cash register. We met Jeanette here, and she was so sweet. Sterling came over and showed that he had found a pink one for me. What a great person to go out of their way for me like that. The whole experience was heightened with the fact that it was just us and the employees and we were all singing Whitney Houston together. read more

Was confused because it was two different companies side by side but both under the bath and body works brand. Both sides have a different feel to it and different products but pretty much all boils down to lotions, candles, scents and more. Staff on both sides were quick and responsive. Didn't feel the pressure of them trying to upsell. Store was buzzing so maybe that's why they couldn't. Theres products everywhere. All were labeled pretty well but it's easy to forget what you're looking for because there's so much. There are usually some sort of discount going on. The smells are usually amazing. I don't think the quality is great for dryer skin. All in all I think it's a solid location. read more

I placed an online order for a set of candles during the store's once-a-year candle promotion. Due to the nature of my work in healthcare, I wasn't able to make it in before the pickup window closed. Because I've run into similar timing issues before, I called yesterday evening to ask if I could pay for the order over the phone using my debit card and have the items released for pickup - a process that other managers at this location have accommodated without issue in the past. (I avoid shipping glass items after previously receiving broken merchandise.) Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The associate I spoke with was not helpful and repeatedly fell back on "this is our policy" when I calmly explained that this exception has been made before. She continually deferred to her manager but never offered to put them on the phone with me. When I asked again if I could simply be charged and pick up the items shortly, she asked, "How long would that be?" - which suggested the option might be possible. I explained that I could come in by this coming Monday (two days later). At that point, she again said she needed to ask her manager, who instructed her to tell me, "No, you've been given time to pick up your order, and we're not able to make any exceptions." I expressed that it was disappointing for a business to refuse a completed sale over a very minor accommodation - holding a small bag behind the counter for two additional days - and asked whether they were comfortable losing a long-time customer over that decision. I don't ask for special treatment and dislike having to escalate matters, but the associate was curt, disengaged, and ended the call with a passive aggressive "Have a great night." I'm genuinely shocked by how inflexible and discourteous this store was. I won't be returning and will be sharing this experience with others. This is not how a customer-service-oriented business should operate. read more

I always have a great time in here. Sooooo many scents to try and yes, one can try/sample just about scent especially in lotions, hand soaps, heck just about anything. They have a nice men's selection too and in candles they say some me know like something a little sweet, but they have some masculine scents too. On 9/17, I visited the Fashion Valley location to exchange some moisturizing bodywashes that I had ordered online for pickup on 9/10. Upon entering, I wasn't greeted, but I grabbed a basket and selected the items I wanted to exchange. When I approached the register, I explained to April that I would like to exchange the items I had purchased through the app. She asked if I had the receipt, and I informed her that I did not, but I had the order number in my email. April immediately told me she couldn't look it up, without providing any further explanation. When I asked why she couldn't do this, she responded simply, 'I just can't.' I explained that I wasn't given a receipt when I picked up the order and showed her the order number from my email. Instead of offering to help, she insisted that I would need to pay the difference between the sale price of the new items and the original price I had paid, even though the new items I wanted were cheaper. This made no sense as I was just trying to do an even exchange. Frustrated, I asked to speak to a manager, but she claimed no one was available. Left with no assistance in-store, I called customer care. They were apologetic and just as confused by the situation, offering me a $25 digital gift card as a goodwill gesture. When I relayed this to April, she simply responded, 'I spoke with my manager, who is here, and said I handled the situation correctly.' This response was incredibly disappointing, as it felt like my concerns were being completely dismissed. I returned and decided to return all my items later that day. Even during the return process, April seemed more interested in chatting with another associate than handling the situation herself. It was clear she had no intention of taking responsibility for her actions or providing any meaningful assistance. I can't believe a company would hire and pay people to treat their paying customers this way. Over the years, I've noticed a significant decline in the quality of service, and I believe it's due to a lack of proper training and a failure to hold employees accountable for their behavior. It's unacceptable for a worker to feel comfortable being this rude and dismissive to a customer. This experience has made me question whether I want to continue supporting a business that allows such poor treatment of its customers and does nothing to address the issue. After 20 years of loyalty, it's disheartening to see the decline in service quality. Customer satisfaction should be a priority, but instead, it seems like this location is more focused on protecting against unprofessional behavior than serving its customer. read more

I stopped in this Bath & Body Works for some men's bath wash. I like their store brand and that they keep introducing new varieties. I picked up a bottle of "Ocean, Noir, and a new variety called Cypress." They had a special of buy two and receive one bottle for free. I prefer the three bottles for $25.00, which is a better deal buying two bottles at $13.50 a piece. The girl at the counter was hoot and quite friendly. First time ordering BOPIS and the lady that helped me didn't seem to get along well with her coworker. They bickered in front of me mentioning if she should do the pick up here when it's supposed to be in the White Barn room and they just kept talking in front of me like I wasn't there. The lady said, well yeah I'm here now and that she can just grab the order herself. After viewing my online order on my phone several times, she still had trouble finding my order and asked help from her coworker again and her coworker seemed so bothered by her. Once my items have made it to the registers, I was about to count all the items in the bags, she hesitated to hand the bag over and said all of the items should be in here, I'm not going to check myself because whoever grabbed the items did that for you already. I was just flabbergasted. Lazy and unprofessional. I did a pick up because I work at the mall and have no time as it is holiday season and working in retail, I know there are sometimes errors with BOPIS'. I wanted to also mention that there was no line at the time when I picked up my order.. I work in retail management and worked for the same company as Bath and Body works for 12+ years. This interaction made me feel uncomfortable. I will support the other locations that have a genuine connection towards their peers and customers. read more

fine store. typical bath and body works. rude employees. i know that bath and body works managers are always on their employees about asking if customers need help and sell sell selling. i get it. but there comes a point where it's rude. when i've said thank you i don't need any help multiple times, please leave me alone. i have had two separate instances at this location that have made me decide i will never come back. one time i was browsing with my partner for a new candle and i overheard an employee start talking about us in hushed tones over the headset. rude. and today i went in and was browsing when an employee asked me "which scents do you like?" to which i replied "oh i'm just browsing thank you." to which she replied "i didn't ask you if you were browsing i asked you which scents you like." i was taken aback by literally being talked back to - when i was very polite so i said "oh thanks i don't need any help finding anything." and she gave me a nasty stink-eye. will not be returning to this location. read more

Come November, their Thanksgiving scents will be out, then in December you will have Christmas scents. They change all the time, especially during the holidays. There are some though, like "Kitchen Lemon", that are always in stock throughout the year. A new one, "Meyer Lemon" was a great find this shopping trip. Bath & Body Works has a vast number of luxurious items. I love them all. You can mix and match hand soaps all the time at the bargain price of 6 for $25., with an additional 20% off, so your total ends up being around $20. You will always get another $20% off coupon when you make that purchase, plus you'll also have the choice to pick one free mini (travel size) item. The hand soaps also fit into very pretty and stylish assorted decorative holders, which are purchased separately. Their candles also have decorative holders. I prefer the foaming soaps but some people like the traditional liquid ones. There is so much more than just hand soaps to Bath and Body Works. They also sell the following: Candles of all kinds (I like the 3-wick, complete with lids), Fragrance Mists and Perfumes, Colognes and Body Sprays, Body Wash and Shower Gel, Body Scrub, Bubble Bath and Soaks, Bar Soap, Sponges, Foot and Hand Care, Body Creams and Lotions, Aromatherapy, "Wallflowers" (Fragrance Wall Plug-Ins) and refills for them, Room Sprays, Men's Collection of Colognes and Body Sprays, and Decorative Scent Portables, with refills (which clip onto the air conditioning vents of your car). There are hand washing stations so you may try out any of the scents before buying them. The ladies who work here are all super friendly and helpful. This is the best location in San Diego. It's a huge store and has way more candles than other stores, basically carrying the whole collection. I also find they get and put out newer candles before other locations. You always have a huge selection and lots to choose from. I typically do a huge haul in the fall every year and this is my go-to store. read more

Allegedly..... If you're looking for a fun calm environment with kind people to work with...RUN. I worked here for a few months and it is a part of my life I will never get back. I have personally witnessed Lisa and Jeraldy lead several girls to tears over the tiniest minuscule mistakes, screaming at them in front of customers for the sake of them looking better in their store conversion numbers to corporate. This is the most hostile work environment I have ever experienced. I never thought that a middle-aged women who had crying tantrums in the backroom and a recent college grad who talked sh*t about 18-year-old girls, would cause me to quit a job I would have otherwise enjoyed. Every other manager and lead in this store are the reason why the doors are still open and customers are even coming back, even though they are the brunt of L and J's mean girl behavior. In my time I heard many calls between the two managers but 2 always stand out the most. One was between Lisa and the corporate manager regarding another lead. This lead was one of the most hardworking, compassionate, and loved managers there and the most despised by the 2 managers. Lisa blamed everything that was wrong with the store on this lead to the corporate manager, taking no responsibility, and blatantly lying. The other call was with L and J with a girl who had applied there but was unable to attend her interview for some reason. They had a bit of trouble contacting her, each having had separate conversations with her. On this day Lisa had her on speaker asking her questions and when the girl gave them a truthful answer they didn't want to hear, J jumped in. They proceeded to attack this girl, who didn't even work there, and laughed at her when she said she felt uncomfortable and was going to contact HR. I thought I had escaped mean girls when I was given my diploma but it seems like a certain 2 hate their lives so much they want everyone too also. Over my short time, I saw over 30 girls come and go. Good for everyone that knew their worth and got the hell out of there. And for the people that are still there, bless you. read more

One star because of their fluctuating return policy. I came in today to return items I purchased a week prior, I didn't have the receipt because per the return policy, the receipt can be looked up using if the app was used/phone number look up. Still it was refused and I was stuck with a store credit for the lowest selling price, which was almost half of what I spent on the products, even though I paid full price and could furnish proof thru my bank app or the bath and body works app I used. Furthermore, the impression I got was that another employee told her through the earpiece to treat me differently. The day I bought the mentioned items I was with my daughter and an older employee got about 3 inches from her face and passive aggressively asked if we needed help as though we were shoplifting. Mind you, we do not look like shoplifters nor were we acting like we were and we did not. I snapped at her "NO THANK YOU WERE LOOKING" and she was taken aback. I saw the same old lady today and I suspect she said something to her co-worker because she seemed to remember me and avoided greeting me and I saw her mumbling into her earpiece right after. Maybe she's the manager? Idk. Like, does this employee think people are shoving spray bottles and candles in their bras?? So ridiculous. It would be great if corporate reminded her that this is a customer service job and she isn't in a position to slander customers because of they don't like her attitude. Fortunately, the younger girls there were very nice and polite and I have no quip with them. The older lady there is something else. read more

We went to the mall with no intention of stopping by a Bath & Body Works store, but Angela was so funny and creative with her deal shout-outs that we had to come in. As we were looking for candles, Francisco came to us and asked if we needed any help. We told him that we loved the Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla and were looking for similar scents. He smiled and nodded, then started looking around and came back with so many great options! Overall, our experience was amazing.
