My bathroom looks 100% better! Erin was our installer, his arrival time was 8-9:30 and he was at our home doing the demo work by 8am. He worked straight through the day and my bathroom was completed by 3:30 or so. Everything looks great and I'm very happy with the work that was done. We just put new carpet in our home and he covered the carpet and flooring before he started working, he cleaned up after and left no mess. We love our new bathroom. We also had originally put down about half of our bathroom cost and planned to finance the other half, however due to the COVID-19 situation everything was postponed a while and i wasn't sure what my husbands work situation was looking like so i requested to have majority of my money refunded minus the 10%, and they did so without hesitation. Two days after my shower was installed we had a leak directly under the shower where the pipes from shower go down. The shower was installed in an upstairs bathroom. Leak damaged the ceiling downstairs. I call Bath Fitter they sent a guy out who didn't know what he was doing another guy (with a bad attitude) came out. They cut a hole in the ceiling and the second guy fixed the leak telling me they were doing my a"favor" by fixing leak. I was told ceiling repair was my issue to deal with. And was told a couple times I would be receiving a call. NOBODY ever called me back. Now I'm looking for someone to repair ceiling. I was told it was not caused by them installing shower, REALLY! I didn't not have a leak before the shower installation but has a leak immediately afterwards. After all this I WOULD NOT recommend Bath Fitters!! read more

I had my tub replaced with a shower in my guest bathroom. After they took out my old tub and installed the new shower, there is a disgusting odor in the bathroom. It smells like rotten sewer. I have to keep the door shut at all times or the smell gets into the whole house. I have never smelled this before. I have called Bath Fitter 2 times about this to have them come back out to see what's wrong with the shower fitting to cause this smell. I'm guessing it's the piping underneath (mold? Sewer?) They absolutely refuse to help me. They said it's not their problem and I need to pay a plumber to figure it out. Their exact words were "we are not plumbers so we cannot work on pipes or anything to do with plumbing, you need to call a plumber" So you're telling me that they ripped out an old tub and installed a new shower and hooked up the new pipes but they aren't plumbers and have no idea how to work on pipes ? And now my whole house smells like rotten sewer and mold and they will NOT take responsibility. I'm extremely upset. 2 different plumbers have come out to look and they don't know what's wrong. What more is there to say? 5 stars says it all!! I got my bathroom re-done by them, by 1/2 the price it would have cost me to have the whole bathroom re-tiled. The work they did came out beautifully. Eric and Joshua did the job, were wonderful, pleasant, easygoing, listed to any concerns I had, professional, etc. Great guys. And the Copaigue Customer Service showroom? I dealt with Mia and Kim, and they were beyond wonderful. For a while I thought I was being a pest, but they listed to me, and helped me with any issues I had. After the job was done, I did find two issues. They had someone come out right away to correct them. Nothing more to say. This company is excellent. My upstairs neighbor had a new tub installed this morning and while this company was working on the install, the installer put a hole through my shower ceiling. I went upstairs to let them know and the installer (a man named Chris) didn't seem too concerned. He indicated that he called it in and I asked if someone would be at least cleaning up the mess. I was told someone would go down to do so, but they left without coming downstairs. I followed up by contacting the company directly and spoke to another man, (he didn't give me his name) who was condescending and quite rude. He spent a few minutes giving me the run around, would not take responsibility as a company for the hole or mess and tried to blame the owner of the unit upstairs. I responded with the fact that the owner did not put a hole in my ceiling and after some back and forth, I got frustrated and he hung up. At first all went well, and the tub was installed, 3 weeks later the glass was installed. After that, there was leaking water from the door. They came back to fix, and it is still leaking. Chris Allison, said our team will make contact and schedule an appointment. 2 weeks go by, and nothing, but a message I am out, please contact our team. Such a waste of time. The right hand dose not know what the left is doing, and just put me off. AND IT STILL LEAKS, I was told well you signed off that framless doors will sometimes leak. That is it, nothing more. I had to call a glass company to come out and fix it, and pay once again for something that should have been done right the first time. Second Bathroom was ordered 08/25/21 and was not installed till 3/17/22. So if you expect fast service do not be fooled. The worst part was you never get an answer to why or when during the process. You never get a phone call from them, you need to make the call. Someone gave me the number the the corporate office, and that was no help at all, but call the team in San Diego. If you are not happy with Bathfitter's installation - tough luck, live with or plan on multiple trips to the showroom, multiple emails, including emails to Bathfitter customer service with your complaints. Maybe then Bathfitters will finally resolve problems with an install. The one star review is more about the lousy office manager (Chris Allison) than the install. When a customer is not happy with a poorly done install that can easily be fixed, why not satisfy the customer by fixing the problem? I made four trips to the Bathfitter's showroom to discuss my displeasure with the shower valve location. See attached photo 1. Photo 2 is what it should look like. On my first trip to Bathfitters the manager said this is normal and how it works with acrylic being a lot thinner than traditional tiles and fiberglass. True, acrylic is thinner, however the installer screwed up by cutting the access hole for the shower valve in the acrylic sheet off center from the shower base. Photo 3 shows that the installer had centered the shower valve and shower feed pipe in the center of the acrylic sheet and not the shower base. Problem with this is that the acrylic sheet extends 4" outside the shower glass doors. The valve and showerhead is 17-1/2" from the left wall and 13-1/2" from the glass doors. He then had to move the shower feed pipe from the left side of the vertical 2 x 4 to the right side. Photo 4 shows a slot (backside view) where the shower pipe had originally gone up the wall. He then attempted to hide his screw up by running the copper pipes behind the ABS vent pipe moving the pipe to within ¾" of the wall, photos 5 & 6. Photo 7 shows that the original pipe was 2" from the wall. Had the installer not cut the access hole incorrectly he could have simply extended the copper pipes up and installed the new valve properly spaced so as not leave the ridiculous 1-3/8" gap. The installer had full access to the plumbing to relocate it correctly. See photo 8. In fact in photo 9 you can clearly see that the original tub valve was not blocked by the ABS vent pipe. On subsequent trips to Bathfitters a sales person informed me that if I opened up the wall behind the plumbing they would be able to move the shower valve to correct the handle gap. Wall opened photo 10. After opening the wall, the manager said the contract does not include relocating ABS vent pipes and that their installers aren't trained at the factory to perform this type of plumbing. That's strange; the installer was able to perform ABS plumbing when he relocated the ABS drainpipe 24" to the center of the shower base. He was also able to remove the original tub diverter spout, tub valve and install a new shower valve in the wrong location. Since the contract does not specifically say they will relocate the ABS vent pipe, I said I would do that. The manager said I should hire a plumber to fix Bathfitter's installation. If the Bathfitter's installer had cut the shower valve access hole in the proper location and installed the shower valve correctly, then I would not need to hire a plumber. After 1-1/2 months Erin (a senior installer for Bathfitter) relocated the ABS vent pipe in about an hour. Photo 12 shows a small gap between handle and valve, which is how MOEN intended it to be installed. read more

I have been reporting an issue for 2 weeks now and have received not a single response. Maybe this wouldn't be a big deal if the issue I reported wasn't a concern with slow draining and that my elderly mom had already had a fall...if that doesn't warrant a call back asap I don't know what does. Although the install was nearly completed in 1 day, the dissatisfaction came from Bath Fitters taking the liberty to change the design and hardware from what was agreed upon and paid for with "what they had available". I called to have the change made to the final payment and their customer service said "you already received a big discount". The salesperson sold me on acrylic sealant/caulk and the installer used run of the mill silicone which will degrade, crack, and will be affected by water in the long term...JUST LIKE ANY OTHER SHOWER STALL. Don't listen to the hype, if it sounds too good to be true...it is. Now amazingingly, i have to purchase and install what we originally wanted and replace the plastic crap that they installed. We had B F install a shower and Door a few years back and liked it well enough. About 6 months ago a crack in the pan developed and then a 1 inch hole appeared in the pan. I called a month and a half ago and was told they would get back to me in a few months for a repair. We called the San Diego Branch again today and was told, " Oh it takes 4 or 5 months to take care of this " That is not acceptable ! I have had my bath fitter for 18 months now. I feel that I can leave a solid review at this point. I will give stars on a five point rate for a few categories. Product: 4 The manufacturing and material quality are slightly above average to a job I would not be able to complete in a DYI. I am very happy with the longevity of the materials, clean lines and construction. Installation: 2 Prior to installation bath fitters ensured us that they were sending Thier very finest technician to install our bath and wall system. On arrival he got straight to work. Was courteous but not a clean cut professional. No problem there. He was nice. Shared things about his life that were the business of his closest friends. Upon demolition completion he hit a electrical wire and had to take steps to repair it. No problem. WE discussed an obvious flaw in the existing wood framing and the baths fit. I was assured it is no issue. Bath is installed and not used for three days to allow all caulking to dry. The product looked wonderful and met expectation. The very first shower happens on day three and the caulking along the wall fails due to that wood framing and bath fitter... Fit. You can easily push where the bath tub connects to the wall and disconnect the tub from the wall liner which tears the caulk, allowing water to penetrate. I have no doubt what's so ever that I have mold/ water damage in the wall now... I digress. Customer service: At time of purchase: 5 After install: 2 Day three I noticed the flaw that tears the caulking and allows water penetration. I call Bath Fitters and they ensure me that they sent their best tech and there is no way he messed up. I assured them he did and sent pictures of the loose fit and water intrusion into the wall. They were kind enough to send techs to our home two times to recaulk. I, being active duty military return from deployment and see this problem and am told that they installed the system as well as possible. Not the case. Install half assed. We're I to rip the techs tools from his hands and do the job, it would have been a 45 minute 2x4 framing job to ensure tight fit at all junctions. My trust on his expertise allowed me to accept poor work on day of install. Overall experience: 3 I would not use bath fitter again. I equate it now to an Ikea job... just good enough but won't last. Not made to last, not due to material but company commitment to ensure a perfect process. They got payment and discarded this customer. Couldn't be more dissatisfied. What is done and actually happens are two completely different. Unprofessional customer service. Not to mention a complete scam. Was told one price and given another. The service provider stated it was a "glitch" in the system however charged $900 more than what was quoted. Only a $125 "convenience" fee was granted. Was told that all walls would be removed and new drywall installed. Not at all! Had two bathrooms one all walls were removed and second only portions of the walls were replaced. The representative has since refused to contact or answer calls. The "headquarters" are just as uninformative. Worse service, extremely unprofessional and would never recommend It has been two weeks since install.. there is a leak in the door, called to have fixed. No show when scheduled, they said they would call back to reschedule, no one did, called again a week later, bath fitter stated "they are not obligated to emergency and will come out to their convince when addressing any leaks or other problems" Better business Bureau will be notified for their lack of support About a month since install and another issue! We needed a shower installed at my parents' house and were not familiar with the whole remodeling process.
