This review is based on my research, experience with Bath Fitter and why I chose to not continue with them: 1). You'll want to avoid the biggest complaint with bathtub liner installation, having water trapped underneath the bathtub liner could cause mold. (See attached photos are results of improper installations of bathtub liner) 2). Over time, the hydrostatic pressure will cause the liner to split. 3). Poor fit and improper installation techniques are one of the main reason they will fail. There are over 200 different bathtub styles and many liner companies simply do not have the proper mold. Many companies use generic molds that do not fit like a glove. That's something Bath Fitter fails to disclose to win your business. 4). Don't be fooled by unscrupulous salesperson forcing you to get a wall surround with your tub liner, when you don't need it. They push this so hard for two reasons: They need to have the wall surround go over the tubs perimeter lip to prevent the liner from getting water underneath it, because of their improper bathtub liner installation methods. This locks in the tub liner, should you ever need the liner replaced, it would be impossible to pull it without destroying the walls. Most of these salespeople are commissioned sales and are just looking at their best interest, not yours. Some information that is on Bath Fitter contract that I missed and they won't go over with you rushing you to sign: 1. Bath Fitter Warranty: All Bath Fitter products are covered by the manufacturers lifetime warranty. Installation services, including silicone, and plumbing work, are warranted for twelve months. This warranty is nontransferable and applies to the original Buyer only. (This warranty is basically garbage and covers nothing. It doesn't cover bad installation which potentially could cause mold growing underneath your bathtub liner. And who is the manufacturer?) 2). Bath fitter coverage about molds: Molds occur naturally in almost all indoor environments. Mold spores enter homes through doorways, windows and a variety of other ways. A Bath Fitter installation may include removing wet, loose, defective, discolored, or odorous surfaces and washing remaining surfaces with household bleach solution. Bath Fitter and its representatives make no warranty or representation of any kind, express or implied, regarding the presence or absence of mold, or regarding the effectiveness of any biocide designed for reducing the presence, effect, or growth of mold. (Basically, this explained that Bath Fitter knows about mold and wants to cover themselves from it and are not responsible if you have mold growing from their bad installation.) 3). Bath Fitter Buyers Right to Cancel: You the buyer have the right to cancel this contract within three business days. See Schedule "A" Buyer's Notice of Right to Cancel. (Schedule "A" is the form that Bath Fitter accept to signed and dated to be emailed to them. In my case, Bath Fitter failed to share this information within the first 3 business days to cancel. Also was charged without permission an additional 30% of the amount due on top of the 10% deposit.) I will be proceeding going to small claims court if this matter doesn't get resolved simply. Bath Fitters Sucks They installed a new bath for me in 2016 and the workers did an excellent job. Fast forward to 2022 and the caulking began to crack. I spoke with Karen who was surprisingly unfriendly. I had never called once to complain before and was surprised by her lack of customer service. Anyway, she said that customers call every year and expect new caulking because the warranty is for a lifetime but she thinks that customers should pay $195 for re-caulking. There is no fee for re-caulking so why she said that is bizarre. So the first guy she sent out did a sloppy job with his fingers. Smearing the caulk crookedly all over not caring if it was straight or not. I called again to request that someone come back to fix his suckass work. So a second guy was sent out who had extremely powerful awful body odor and he claimed that he couldnt fix the poor caulking job. He ended up making the caulking look worse. He was nasty - he left trash on the floor and a big shoe print was left inside my bathtub when he was 'finished'. This atrocious work has totally ruined my my initial beautiful wonderful bathtub install. First guy did a great job while the other two sucked. read more

The communication was poor. We had requests at the sales consultation that were verbally agreed upon, but then were told they were not possible the day that the work was done. I was horrified to find that they do not do anything for containment of the dust during demo. I wasn't aware until it was too late or we would have put up plastic or something before they started. We took the door off of our bathroom to make it easier for them and they didn't even close the doors to the surrounding rooms. The entire house was left covered in a thick dust and I was home at the time, pregnant and with a small child. When I called to express my concern with the office, they said they would "let the production team know", but never called me back or responded to my concern in any way. The actual job looks decent, but I'm not confident in it long term. We've already had to add a lot of caulking ourselves where it has separated. We had our tub removed and replaced by Bath Fitters, but it does feel very flimsy. It shifts under your feet. I have sat on the edge of the tub, but the caulking is popping out where it connects to the floor, so that probably isn't a good idea. If I could do it again, I would have done an actual remodel of our shower. This seemed like it would be very convenient but the lack of communication left us frustrated. read more

Unfortunately they aren't living up to their former reputation. They did a lovely shower for me in 2014. This time when I needed it replaced with an accessible shower they have been slow and unresponsive to my calls. The design was poor and they cancelled two appointments with less than 24 hr notice. Installation finally done Dec. 2020, contracted in Feb of 2020. Install was rocky and tech was very careless with his tools.. It took days longer than planned leaving us with an unusable bathroom and no shower. After install we discovered that the drain on the shower pan was too long and had broken thru the ceiling of bathroom below when it was jammed into place. At that point we didn't dare let Bathfitter try to fix the ceiling and repaired ourselves. We did point out the problem to the manager who came to inspect the job. ***There was a dirty spot in the shower pan when installation was finished which with difficulty I was able to scrub out. However, there is an ongoing problem with dirt/soap scum accumulating in ugly spots in the pan which I find almost impossible to remove - all those nice bumps that make it slip resistant also grab and hold any dirt. Have not found any scrubbing tool that works well nor do cleaning agents that are safe to use on fiberglass. Would be much happier if I could figure out how to keep it looking clean. We like the shower but based on other reviews wonder when issues will begin to surface. By the way like so many other companies the Bathfitter price is only good if you sign on the dotted line today, no time to do comparison shopping or look at other products/systems. Our 30 year old tub needed replacing so after some research and some high priced quotes we hired Bath Fitters for the job. The first salesman that we had couldn't wait to leave and didn't want to discuss any of our questions. Our next salesman was much better and we agreed to the job. They called a few days before the installation and said they were bringing an extra guy so we would have it done in one day and that did not happen. The extra guy ended up being so loud and disgusting, saying the f word almost continuously. We asked the other guy to not bring him back the next day. After the job was finished we saw that the fixtures did not line up and Bath Fitters was engraved on the bottom of the tub. We are disappointed and were not informed of these issues ahead of time. Beware, I would give 0 stars at this point.....the initial sales meeting went well, the installation went well and no significant issues, only knock is fiberglass pieces/dust wasn't cleaned up outside. Waited the 24 hours to use the shower, tried it and no hot water. Called and they were able to get someone out the next day but I couldn't be there so had my mom go. They changed a piece and it worked. I tried to shower that night and the water was cold no hot water. All other water faucets have hot water. So, I called again, and they basically could only give me an hour notice for someone to go out. I work 40 min away and have meetings scheduled, so I can't go meet them on a whim when they can squeeze me in. Office person was rude and unsympathetic and basically put it on me because I can't drop everything on the same day. She is also trying to say it is not a problem with their product it must be my plumbing. I had no problems before this. I paid almost $7000 for a shower that looks nice but has no hot water and now am being told that I may need to get a plumber if they can't fix it because they only have installers not plumbers, which is not the same info given in the sales presentation. Update: They were able to get me an appointment tomorrow, and now the hot water seems to be working, so let's hope it remains that way and it isn't an intermittent issue...hopefully they will never have to hear from me again. I understand issues happen and nothing is perfect, I just don't like how it was handled. Looking forward to a hot shower! read more

Bath Fitter remodeled our walk-in shower and the installation went well. However, last year the base of the shower began to crack around the drain. Bath Fitter ordered a new base and after several months an associate came and spent a day installing the new base. As he was finishing the work, the base cracked again near the drain and we were told we would need another new base. He put a bucket in the cellar to collect any water that might leak and called the store to order a new base. In early August we made an appt. for the new base to be installed. The earliest appt. we could get was Oct. 5. Called the service department on Oct. 4th to check on the appt. Representative said they were short handed but she would call by the end of the day and let me know whether anyone could come. Our experience with Bath Fitter (BF) was a nightmare from start to finish. In mid March 2022 we had our initial consultation with the BF rep and signed a contract to install a bath tub liner. Two and a half months later we finally had a somewhat satisfactory completed project that should have taken one day to install. Positives: We went with BF because other family members had had great product and customer service experiences with them. Negatives: - Delay in scheduling a requested expedited project. Project took 2-1/2 months. - Unprofessional / incompetent installation techs. Misaligned bath tub liner. Incomplete caulk removal and clean up. Sloppy re-caulking. Broken wall tile. Broken drywall. Uninstalled soap dish. Damage to painted wall. Lack of floor and fixture protection. Lack of clean up. - Unprofessional management team Lack of communication - replying to customers emails and calls. Lack of initiation of solutions to project problems. Unconcerned about customers requests and needs. Charging credit card for work not completed. BF reluctantly only proposed a $500 discount for the projects problems. I would never recommend Bath Fitter to anyone wanting a professionally completed bathroom project. She started with measurements of the space and followed up with recommendations that were right on the money with what we were looking for. We contacted Bathfitters through their website and they did call us, only to say they would charge us to fit their mistake! For her safety, we are using a $35.00 shower seat from Walmart, rather the the non-compliant built-in from Bathfitters. So much for their "lifetime warranty". read more

We had a Bath Fitter shower installed a couple months ago. First off, we ordered one style and then were told we couldn't have that one in our small shower. We were disappointed, but accepted an alternate style. We ordered the big shower head and the slider bar with handheld. Once it was installed the shower head was way too low and we had to remove the shower head and use just the handheld. The installer, Erin, did a great job and was very careful and professional! He did have to come back on a service call because the shower step was low on one end and water drained out some. He fixed that by adding a shim on that end to raise it. He said it's the way it's molded. Another negative we have is the way the drain looks. For so much money it should be molded perfectly. Instead, the Recessed area for shower drain cover is not centered over drain. It just doesn't look good. A photo is attached. We're very disappointed that we spent so much money and it looks like an amateur made it. Erin said he can't do anything about it because it was molded that way. Overall, we are satisfied because we no longer have to deal with having tiles in the shower. Now that we've used the shower many times we've discovered their non slip floor is definitely NOT slip resistant. We've almost slipped every time the shower is used. NOT GOOD! Bath somewhat might fitter. The one star is mostly because of the lack of service once they get your $$ or the sale is done. Bad install endless issues and their supervisor Chris rudeness. The product itself might be ok, but it's too soon to tell. Caution: during the sale I specifically asked if they would do the drywall as we had a flud and needed the whole service. Patrick, the sales guy said YES. Well that is bull. They would only put a sheet but will not finish it. Also, my wall used 5/8ths thick, they only carry 1/2 inch. They will not fix even after I asked them to solve it. Now my wall has a slant angle along all the other issues. THE STORY BEHIND: We called back in March of 2020. We decided to go with them as they promised a complete service (excluding paint) and for a slight cheaper price than one of the other bids (but higher than most) and said it would seamless that's why we went with them a long the lifetime warranty. In resume: They will not call or follow up. They will charge your card for payments without letting you know in advance. We are now in June and we are still not done with issues that originated since the install (April), theres painting and drywall that still needs to be complete and damage made by their install, almost 3 months for them to order the correct material, had to change one of our options since they did not have the adequate one. Don't care about what you have they will only use 1/2 inch drywall. Details: ISSUE 1 Tub and walls. They called almost 3 weeks later to let us know they did not have the tub we had asked for and agreed too. We ended up having to pick what we did not want just to get it done sooner as we had an insurance claim and we were staying at a long stay do to a house flood. During the install, I noticed they did not use the metal straps for the plumbing as it was originally installed.they used 2x2 pieces of wood (not even sure if it's up to code). The wall warped from day one but Aaron, the installer said it was the wall. A few days later the wall separated and the seal started to separate. We called Chris who schedule the inspection. Ot took over a week and for us to contact them to schedule. Once they show up they said it was warping and a bad install. From there, No follow up no updates. We had to call them 2 weeks after the visit for Chris, on a rude manner, tell us that it would be a 4 weeks. I tried to talk to him to ask about the wrong size if drywall used, he just blew me off and said the installer will check. During the repair, the installer messed up again and had to leave for 2 hours as my 3 yr old and I stayed outside waiting for his return. Once completed, he let me know he damaged the ceiling. Now I have a damaged ceiling. Need to paint, the drywall is still the wrong size, the caulking is spotted missing and have. Ot heard back from Chris. The install took place in mid April, and now we are in June with still unfinished business. Issue 2 The stand up shower... they installed the shower mid April. During the install they let us know they did not have the door we ordered. They knew this from the time we placed the order in March, they di not tell us until April, and it took until may for them to get it. Again, no follow ups. The same issue with using wood to support the copper piping instead of the copper straps, and the door seal is not the greatest. Zero calls, zero follow ups, to install the door the guy was 3 hrs late and if we dont call. They would have not let us know of the delay. Issue 3 They took off 2 payments, one for the tub one for the stand up shower.great we thought it was done (one as a down payment and one in April when they "finished" the install (with all the issues) Then all of a sudden last month (end of May) I get hit with a $500 on my account. No call, no warning. No heads up. We call and ask for the hit, they said it was because not all was collected on the previous 2 charges as they had originally told us. During this call my wife asked if there was a complain department or a supervisor to talk too, Chris said that o well he was the one to talked too, so wo do we call if we want to complain about Chris? His lack of follow ups. Bad customer service, etc? Theres more behind all this but the story goes too long as is. 4 months of lack of customer service, rushed install, not having the right product, etc. Not sure if BBB would be included on this as Bathfitters did not provided what they sold and I have concerns from behind the wall. Where do I start!? If you are considering this company I suggest you review their better business bureau profile. Installation took 3 days and the were over two hours late every day without any issues of my existing setup. They kept my entire building's water shut off for 2.5 hours after the agreed upon time (because they were late) causing several complaints to my HOA about my project. The saleswoman Barbara told me they would make me a custom shelf, which apparently they never do. They charged me for this custom shelf anyway and it took me arguing with the manager to get them to remove the $250 charge. On day two the worker says they did not give him the correct shower doors and he was going to leave and go get them. He comes back saying they do not even have them in stock and someone will have to come back after the holiday weekend to install them. I received no phone call since being told that. I had to hunt them down. It took them over 8 hours a day over 3 days to complete my extremely simple tub replacement. They made a mess of my floors and carpet on top of that. The first day I used my shower after having it out of service for a week, the nozzle to turn it on breaks. They also left marks on my walls which I will have to repaint. They also scuffed the brand new shower walls when installing my shower doors. The manager Chris Allison is extremely unprofessional and ignored all my of emails addressing my complains only responding demanding payment which I told him I will not be providing as they have not completed the job. I had to call him directly to address my complaints to which he said he has no control over and I will have to talk to another department, despite being customer service. He told me they do not have a direct line and they will give me a call. I have not received a call in over a week. All the fixtures are extremely loose and the caulking job is horrendous. I called asking for an itemized receipt to see how much they were charging me for labor and parts because clearly the quality of parts is not an $8,000 cost and their labor is extremely poor quality. Chris refused to give me this and said because parts come in from all different states they cannot provide this. He then tells me how much the custom shelf cost and says he will remove it from my bill, showing clearly he has this information. I called customer service for the entire company and they said he should be able to provide me with this and just connected me to his direct line. He still refused to give me an itemized invoice. THEN to top it all off I receive a notice of intent to lien today in the mail for an unpaid invoice of the original payment amount (with the shelf) meaning they sent this our prior to my job even being completed demanding payment. I called to ask Chris why I received this notice and he said they send it to ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. I highly doubt they threaten to take out a lien on every single customer... I am so completely and utterly shocked at the unprofessionalism of the manager and employees. read more

Patrick did a great job, work was done quickly and he treated our home with much care and respect.

I have had many workman and companies do projects for me at my home and at my rental properties, over the past 45 years. I cannot say enough good things about this company and especially Erin who did our job. The job is great and Erin was polite, professional and respectful of working in our home. I got several bids and felt the price was fair, but I especially appreciated the good, old-fashioned work ethic that was shown at our home. Sadly it is lacking with so many workmen today, that when you do see it first hand, it is deeply appreciated. read more
