I recently purchased a house and the bathroom was remodeled by Bath Fitter three years ago. They did the shower walls, the tub and the shower head and faucet. The shower looks good but the quality of the job is very poor. All the caulking from the tub to the wall and wall to the ceiling are coming off so water is going in the gaps. Also, when the water is set to come from the shower head, it still pours from the tub faucet as well. I called them when I realized they have "life time warranty" and they were able to look up the remodeling job using my address in their system and they said it was done three years ago. The moment they realized I'm not the original owner they asked if I have the original contract and said without the original contract they would not do any repairs even though they clearly have records in their system. The woman on the phone was rude and was trying to hang up immediately after she realized I don't have the contract. I agree with Alayna S. comment. My issue with Bath Fitter of El Cajon Ca., Chris wanted me to call handyman to fix the garage door paint peeled off when pvc glue fell on the garage door. The argument is: "We don't do paint, we install bathtub and showers. Please contact the handyman service schedule with him directly , our office does not make his schedule. You can also refer to the terms of your contract if you have any questions what is covered by bathfitter and what is not". The handyman referred to does not work for the company. Does he even know what type of paint to use and what shade of color to match existing garage door paint. I have other installation problems, hope they will fix it to my satisfaction. If the local Bath Fitter does not take positive action to resolve your issue, you need to email the corporate office. Giving 2 stars cause the salesman was great to work with and they were able to schedule install right away. Everything was going great until I saw the bath tub wasn't the correct width. Instead of letting me know they went ahead and added 2x4 to extend wall out without telling me our asking me. Only found out when I went to check on the guys. Was told if I wanted different tub we would have to wait and reschedule. Also was told by installer lead he would have to leave at 1 pm for appointment and come back next day. We were not told about this and had our daughter graduation following day and needed it done same day. We agreed they could come back next day if they were done by 12:00. Lead said no problem. Next day a different installer came. He said he could be done by 12. He was able to complete install last minute and we signed off on install. Following day I was able to look into install more closely and seen scratches/scuffs on new shower wall and that one wall was not straight. I was able to push on wall and there was a big gap between shower wall and drywall. I called and they had a tech come by following week and tried to get scratches/scuffs off but wasn't successful. He noticed the gap and said only way to fix would be to remove and replace. He talked to his supervisor and informed me that they would call me to discuss following day. Never got called back. Overall I wasn't impressed with the product. The new tub is flimsy when you step on it. The shower shelves are just stuck on with double sided tape and caulked to hold on wall and also are flimsy. And gaps between new shower wall and drywall. I had got a quote for new tile and tub that was more expensive but should have gone that route. read more

They made a mistake and I guess didn't know there was concrete under in my grandmothers condo above a parking lot. They then refused to fix their error. Charged her the full 10,000 tried to put a lean on her condo and now refuse to answer her calls. They have made this long and hard and taken advantage of my elderly grandparents. My grandmother didn't want to go to court because we just moved and it has taken everything out of her. But this has been the worst experience ever and we know many contractors that our family friends and have been told to have an inspection of their business done as this is a unprofessional and incorrect way of doing business. Repair man came hit the bubble with a hammer and the bubble did not go away so he covered the bubble with black tape and said he would order a replacement liner. he Came on April 1st. This was by far the best decision we made when remodeling our home. It took the installer less than a days worth of work to completely transform our old tired guest bathroom. Some of the other remodeling work we did with tile floors etc. took 10 times as long, was much more expensive and will create more maintenance work than this bath unit. We are very happy with the quality of the final product and the installer, James, was very professional and accommodating to a few minor request (height of shelving unit moved up to be out of reach of children etc). Very disappointed in a few things!!! BF will NOT be touching my other bathroom! While the shower looks good, and was installed in one day, I no longer get cold enough water in summer, and now have to take cold showers under a hose in my backyard all summer! I originally wanted separate hot & cold handles, but was told it wasn't an option, and that the Moen fixtures are top-rated. I agreed to go with a single handle, because I'd never had a problem before, and it was a mistake! First: I wasn't told that hot water would now be mixing with cold, and I'd never get pure cold water anymore! Second: The valve was obviously overheated on installation which caused warping (which Moen warns against), because now the coldest water was 91 degrees! Third: the new shower head had terribly weak water pressure. They said I'd have to get an unlicensed plumber to change it! I unscrewed the shower head & drilled it out to fix that problem, thank goodness! BF did finally send a new valve (courtesy of Moen), and $600 to get it repaired, but I would rather have not used them in the first place if I had known of all the issues I would be dealing with! read more

To start with our sales representative, Barbara Lane, was a total professional, she took a great deal of time explaining each and every feature Bath Fitter offers to ensure we had exactly what we needed. Our installer, Ignacio Loredo, was flawless, well organized and prepared to complete the job in one day as promised. The bathroom he worked on is small but he maintained a clean workspace throughout the day. His job was not easy, had to remove the cast iron tub, and completed all plumbing installation to fit our needs. Checking with us through the day to make sure everything was where we wanted it. Chris returned the following day to finish a couple small trim items. Fit and finish was flawless. Karen scheduled our installation quickly and a time that met our needs. Unfortunately I haven't had the best experience. I used Bath Fitter to cover up the old shower in the condo I bought this year. 2 months after install, I felt and heard water under the bottom pan of the new shower. Somehow it ended up between the new pan liner and the old shower around the drain. They came out a couple days after I called to fix it. Basically they used a vacuum to get the water out, then caulked around the drain. The day after allowing it to dry, I pressed near the drain and no surprise, there is still water. The caulking is also cracking. He fixed it while there to get the water out, but now I notice it's starting to crack at the top of the wall. I had neighbors interested in possibly using this company but I definitely will not recommend it to anyone. I almost want to tear it out and hire someone else. At least it looks better and the installer was polite. That's the only reason for the 2 stars. I'd give it 1.5 if I could read more

Instead of having the tub reglazed, BF decided to contact Bath Fitter. Barbara from Bath Fitter was fast to come out, sell the product, take measurements and secure a down payment. She told us we will be contacted by Bath Fitter to install the new tub before Christmas 2015. Christmas past and the New Year past... we did not hear from Bath Fitter, so my BF decided to call. Shelly scheduled for a technician to come January 22 from 7-9 am. Every reputable business calls and confirms appointments a day prior. Surprisingly Bath Fitter does not do that. Isaac, the technician... however nice and personable he was... He came an hour and 20 minutes late for the appointment. After the work was done, which took over 4 hours. It was so disappointing to see such a sloppy work with that amount of time. The tub was obviously not a perfect fit. The corners were uneven, the inside of the tub was warped, there is a space between the old tub and the new bath fitter that was placed on top of it. New tub did not stick or mold on top of the old tub. We called Bath Fitter the next day to express our utmost disappointment. We requested for Bath Fitter to come back and fix the tub, we also requested Shelly to send a different technician to fix it. Shelly was adamant on sending the same technician "so he can learn from his mistakes" after we expressed our disappointment. For the amount of $2,000, I think it's only fair that Bath Fitter sends a professional technician who will not just do a good job, but will meet the expectation promised to us prior to the job being done. We don't want our tub being used to train their technician. According to Shelly, she scheduled a different technician to come February 19 from 7-9 am. My BF even called their office Feb. 17 to confirm the appointment. Shelly assured that a technician is coming February 19, So we took time off from work. February 19 came, 9 am past, no one has called and no technician came. We called Bath Fitter and was informed by Eila that Shelly scheduled THE SAME technician to come and he is running late AGAIN!!! I don't understand why the same technician was sent out, I thought we made it clear to Shelly to send a different technician. After being informed that the same technician was coming, we had no choice but to wait. To our surprise, 10:15 past, no one came and nobody called from Bath Fitter. My BF decided to call Bath Fitter AGAIN at 10:30. Eila told us that no one was coming and that there has been an emergency... WHAT?!?!?! At what point were we supposed to be informed that no one was coming? Why didn't they call us as soon as they found out? Eila was nice enough to listen to our frustration but was not able to do anything but take down notes. She even said that one of the Bath Fitter management was going to contact us after a meeting, after the meeting... no one called. It is apparent that Shelly, Bath Fitter owners and their management DOES NOT CARE about their customers. No one in their office bothered to call and apologize for wasting our precious time. We had two of our bathtubs "fitted", and are absolutely thrilled with the outcome. After suffering through several attempts at resurfacing our our tubs... (By professional companies) we decided to call Bath Fitters. Resurfacing did not last one year. The office staff at Bath Fitters is very friendly and helpful. We have an Airbnb and had to change the repair schedule. They were very flexible and worked with us. The sales rep was friendly, easy to understand, super knowledgeable and sold us on their product. He measured the bathtubs, ordered the materials. The technician who installed our tubs five weeks later was knowledgeable, friendly, and worked quickly. We are super happy with the outcome thus far. Don't trust Bath Fitter! We ordered a new tub liner and bath walls on February 12th and were promised that we would have a beautiful bathroom in 3 to 4 weeks. We are currently on week 21 since we purchased, and we still don't have a completed job. They screwed up in so many ways but charged my credit card the day before the initial installation. Frustrated!!! ---Here is the whole story if you have time to read more: We purchased our Bathtub from Bath Fitters on February 12. 2020, Sales Consultant Patrick told us we should have a brand new beautiful bathtub in about 3 weeks. On March 4th I received a call to schedule the installation. It was scheduled for March 18th. The evening before the scheduled installation we received a call from Bath Fitters, telling us that the bathtub was manufactured with the drain hole on the wrong side, it has to be reordered, and that they will call us to schedule a new apartment when the tub comes in. The new install day then was May 6th. The installer (Chris, not wearing a mask) told me that the drain under the house needs to be renewed, and told me that we need to have that done by our own plumber. (The salesperson on Feb.12th said that Bath Fitters does all of that, no matter how old the plumbing is.) By looking at our newly installed bathtub we noticed many flaws in the caulking. Also, the new tubs drain hole didn't line up with the old tubs drain hole. The plumbing side wall was bowed in, probably due to the installer not securing the board behind the wall. (I have a picture of that unsecured board that's now behind the acrylic wall). The bowing of said wall might be the cause of a very thick caulking line under the faucet area. The plumbing under the house was renewed at our additional cos. On May 14th, I called Patrick, our sales consultant but he didn't answer the phone. I wanted to tell him that we did not receive the product he ensured us. He had told us that the shelves and the wall/tub get fused together, I was quite surprised to see a bunch of caulking, as we had told him that we always had problems with caulking getting moldy. I called Patrick again on May 15th and left a message, but never got a callback. May 20th, 2020, the scheduled date to have someone come and look at our problems. Installer Tony (with a face mask) fixed many of the caulking issues, installed the drain hardware by having to cut the edge of the tub drain hole, in order to reach the original drain hole. I showed Tony the pictures that I had taken during the initial installation, and he agreed that the bowing in the wall must come from the unsecured board behind the wall. On Friday, May 22nd I called the Bath Fitters office, talked to Mark (I think that was his name), he was not aware of the pictures that I had shared with installer Tony. I then sent an email with all the pictures from the botched job. On Saturday I took my first bath and was met with more disappointed. The drain and all the hardware did not line up. The drain and the overflow were centered, but all the other hardware was off-center and/or crooked. On Sunday, May 24th I sent another email to Bath Fitters, including the picture of the crooked hardware. On Wednesday, May 27th at 3:30 pm I called the Bath Fitters office again, nobody answered the phone, I left a message to please call me back, but nobody did. On May 28 I called Bath Fitters again, talked to Chris. Chris told me that the case is up for review and that we should hear back in a week or two ....crazy On top of all this, by looking at my credit card bill, I discovered that the final payment was charged to my account THE DAY BEFORE the Installation. My contract clearly states that the final payment is due upon completion. I made Chris, the office manager aware of that and he said in a snippy way, "you have a tub now, so we're even". On June 2nd I received a phone call from Chris (Manager), he told me that we now can make an appointment to have the left wall peeled back, fix the issues behind it and re-glue the panel. I asked him how that will fix the issue with the off-center hardware, and after a bit of resistance he said that he would talk to his supervisor again. A few minutes later Chris called me back and told me that they will order a new wall today and that it should come in, in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks later on July,24th I called Bath Fitters, to inquire when the wall will be installed. The lady on the phone (named Karen, I think) told me that my paperwork is in the "to review" folder. I told her that this couldn't be, because I was told 3 weeks ago that it was reviewed, and that the conclusion was that they will order a new wall and that it should be here in about 2 weeks. On Friday July 26th I received a call from Chris (Manager) to schedule the wall re-install. The installation date is now set for Friday, July 10th. They were supposed to come tomorrow to take the wall off to fix the sh... work, but I got a call this morning that they have to reschedule... again. read more

Hard sell tactics. They will stay in your house for hours! If you have questions about adding something to your order they will Not do it over the phone. They will send someone out again to immerse you in hard sell tactics. Then not even show up. Then give away the entire tub ordered to someone else after I put 500 down and then cancel home installation with one day prior notice. Request to speak to general manager have gone unanswered. I have O idea when I will be getting my tub. It's been months. I can only guess it's because i just ordered a tub and not an entire remodel. read more

I wanted my bathtub area remodeled and I didn't know where to start. I contacted several bathroom remodelers and Brandon from Bath Fitter was the first to respond. I was going through some water damage repairs so I was in a time crunch to get things done. Brandon was able to meet my time frame and I was sold. I wish I could remember the tech's name who did the installation because he was wonderful. I also had other workers there finishing up other repairs. The bath fitter tech was super patient working around the others and the bathroom looks just beautiful. I absolutely love the acrylic wall design and shower fixtures. It's so easy to clean which was another selling point to me. It was all done in one day. I really didn't price shop because I was in such hurry but I feel it was pretty reasonable. First off I have been wanting to get my bathroom redone so it would actually look like a master bathroom instead of a child's bathroom. It is small, cramped and the tub sucks. I always listen to 96.9 the legend and they had a promotion going on and if you called bath fitters and requested an estimate you would get a free shower radio. OK great I set up an appointment, they show up with a phenomenal sales pitch that had a hefty price for this bathroom to get a makeover. Not a remodel but what I call a layover! They also said if I paid a hefty deposit that day I would have payments of $314 a month. I could also pay less for a monthly payment but the cost of the bathroom would be much greater then the price given. Even included all the pretty marble vinyl crap, a shelf that would hold six bottles of shampoo etc. They also added how they patoned the seamless shower wall and they were the only ones that had or could make it. They also stated that everything was made in the USA which I'm all for but what they didn't mention is that free shower radio is not only cheap, inexpensive, shipped terribly was made in the good old China! Yes folks China! I can get one myself for penny's on the dollar! For someone to be so proud that their products are made in the USA and they are patoned to give away such cheap things is absurd! Do I want a layover bathroom with a shower radio from China for $9000? Hell no! I can do both of my bathrooms for half the price and use the rest of the money for my living room! Shame on you bath fitters! On another note I work really weird hours so one day I could be working during the day and the next I could be working overnight. I get 15 calls in 4 voicemails wanting to confirm my appointment for the next day at 10 o'clock. I finally wake up and see the calls and before I could call back Sharika or Shaniqua whoever she was calls me trying to confirm the appointment again. I simply stated in a nice voice with the 15 calls and 4 voicemails I figured it was confirmed. Thank you have a great day. Same uneducated fool texts me to confirm the appointment and I repeated the same speech as I did before and at the end I said I will see you tomorrow at 10am. This fool had plenty of time to call me all those times but when the sales guy left he didn't even have the radio on him because they were not in stock but they were going to be mailed out. What!!! How do you have a promotion and not have the product in stock already? I text uneducated fool asking about the radio and naturally I had no reply! Either she was too busy making 15 calls to someone else or didn't know how to answer that question. Anyway needless to say I will be doing my own bathroom and using my google home for music because I talk louder than what their radio plays! Btw your sales representative (Design Consultant) was a great guy, well mannered, very professional, clean and tidy when he entered my home, easy to talk with and he spoke very highly of his job and his family!
