I had a rental unit with a leaking shower that needed urgent replacement. Bath Fitter scheduled an install in 3 days away, so I gave them the down payment. Just before the install they called to say the installer was sick and rescheduled for another 7 days out. I was peeved about what I perceived to be a bait and switch tactic. The new shower enclosure looked great when done. Five months down the road, the tenant notices the sides are flexing and the silcone seal at the base is not holding. They can't use the shower. A repair man was scheduled, but the wait is two weeks. So buyer beware. Service wait times are too long if you are a landlord trying to keep your tenants happy. Plus, the seal at the shower base is not good. I ask, should they have been more careful for the price? read more

The entire process of working with Bath Fitters was a negative experience. It took almost 8 weeks (which they warned me in the initial sales presentation) to even get the shower installed and if I hadn't repeatedly called them, it might have been longer! A representative shared that my message was in her inbox and she was eventually going to contact me (if I hadn't called I might have had to wait longer!) Initially the demo team (which was rarely used according to their technician) took my shower head & hand held unit (only about 2 months old) without asking. It was stated in the contract with BF to keep that shower head so I could have it installed in my other bathroom. When I inquired about it shortly after the demo was completed (only about 2 hours later), I was told they had already thrown it out at the dump?! I honestly don't believe that was the case since the shower head was in perfect condition plus it had only been 2 hours since they completed my demo and they had a second demo right after mine! Consequently, BF agreed to give me a credit of $200 as compensation for the missing shower head. With regards to this reimbursement of $200.00, I asked for an email to confirm this, which Karen (I think that was her name) told me that it was Monday, she shared it was busy and to just have happy energy, trusting her to process the credit later for me. I, in turn, should have told her to also trust that I would pay the bill! During the demo-ing they cracked an adjacent tile, which I later shared with BF, and the tech also documented on his paperwork. BF informed me it was my responsibility to find a replacement tile (which I haven't yet been able to find) and they would have it replaced. After taking my own time to search (at various home improvement stores) for the matching tile to replace the cracked tile and several emails to BF, they agreed to give me a $300 credit (which wouldn't even come close to the cost of replacing the floor to match the original tiles)! To this day, I still haven't seen the $200 or $300 credits promised to me on my credit card statement, which I've asked BF to provide proof of (which I think is totally acceptable and they should!). After waiting almost 2 1/2 months they finally arranged to have my "back ordered" shelves installed! I've had to contact BF almost every time as they have not been proactive during this whole process (except when it applied to getting their money!). I had to repeatedly contact BF to find out when they would start the work or where's the credit or when the shelves were going to be installed, etc. I think their way of handling business and providing customer service is poorly handled and extremely unprofessional. Stay away not worth that money that's absurd ridiculously expensive just for installing bath tub and shower stall alone and it looked cheap like a hospital bathroom for $7500...their bath tub is so tiny why??? Wow - Bathfitters just completed a two day project on-time and the results are incredible. We selected pure white for the tub and shower, and the bathroom looks brand new because of these additions. The home is 22 years old, and this new upgrade makes us feel we are back in the new home again. The job was pure crap. The salesman lied about the installation process, they charged me for an item not provided. Cracked the wall in adjacent bathroom, ripped all the waterproof wallboard off the wall behind the old shower and replaced it with scrap wood the Installer had in his truck. Put an approximate 24 inch hole in one wall and covered it with scrap wood. Was, according to the salesman, suppose to put the new walls over the existing tile and not rip them off the wall. Another lie. Between the installer and the salesman, nothing but lies. I am ashamed to show it. Will never use this company again. Overcharged for what was provided and nobody has had the courage to look at the job. Tried to contact the salesman midway and he told me there is always collateral damage. Please let me help you and do you a huge favor. Do not use Bathfitters! They are dishonest and unprofessional. I should have known better than to hire them based on a television commercial. My bad, but what they did after that has me considering legal action. I'm out $4,000.00 and still have unfinished shower that will require me to hire another company to finish. Chris, the manager is rude, and Joey the sales rep was let go in the middle of our remodel project. The person who answers the phone answers with the corny line, "How can I make you smile today?" Really?! We contracted to do a shower and bathtub remodel along with moving the shower seat to be a few inches higher. First, I got a call saying they wanted to back out of the tub remodel. Second, I got another call saying they didn't want to take on raising the shower seat. I reluctantly agreed to both concessions and to reduce the quote(always verbal never a contract). When they showed up to install the shower they brought the wrong shower materials. Totally not what we ordered! We refused to install the cheap looking Bathfitter shower and asked to have them install what we ordered. Well, I can't get them back out to my house. I called their corporate headquarters back East and their customer service department does not call me back either. This company deserves to go out of business to protect others from being victimized by their false advertising, greed, and ineptitude. It makes me both mad at them and myself for even taking the time to type this review. We had a new shower installed today replacing a tub shower. Couldn't be more thrilled with the installer Ciaran McKenna. He was a very hard worker (on his birthday, no less) and did everything to make sure the job was done in 1 day. We had some plumbing issues and they were able to get plumbers out in a few hours. the service was fine and our sales rep was nice and friendly, she help us pick out some choices for our second bathroom and informed us that the V.A. would covered the bill once it was approved. however, she said I could do this after the work was done and send the info to the VA. After the work was finished I set out to contact the VA, but having that the job was already completed, they wouldn't cover it as it was not approved prior to the project, despite what our sales rep had said. She even insisted that she had done this many times before for other veterans. while I am happy with how it turned out, I was still led to believe I was getting a deal with this project, and had to foot the bill entirely. read more

From the initial call with Eila to the sales meeting with Barbara to the installation with Ciaran, the entire process exceeded my expectations! After just purchasing my house, I was concerned about what we'd find when the old fiberglass tub/shower was removed. I was so impressed with Ciaran and how professional, knowledgeable, and personable he was. He quickly removed everything and we were pleasantly surprised with how good the condition of the space was. The drain needed to be replaced and he quickly summoned a plumber to get that all taken care of. Ciaran really went the extra mile in completing my new shower. They might sounds so nice and sweet when helping you find what you want at first. But once things are done they find any way not to help. I had a shower put in the master bedroom. They did their measurements to have the shower made. They said it's a bigger shower than the topical showers; so they had to customize a bench in the shower so the base could fit. After months; they told me they needed to come back and remeasure again - but they made me feel that it was my mistake in some odd way - then after they installed the shower; I found out they put the entrance to the shower - sliding door on the opposite side. They told me it's my fault that I didn't tell them where I wanted it. This is not true, I really made it clear where I wanted it; because no way i would want it on the side where it's not easy to get into the shower - tight apace -. After they installed it; I should have turned the water on to test it; which I didn't thinking it'll be fine - my mistake. So it's been a little over a year I haven't used that shower - because I'm remodeling the house and that room has not been finished until now. I Found it was leaking from one of the Valves. So I tried calling to explain this; the first person I spoke to was trying to find any way to say it's not their responsibility t saying that it's old plumbing ! And when I explained more then she said oh I might be right. Then, took my number down and had someone call me. Once they called they told me sorry that the plumbing 1 warranty had finished and they can't help; suggested I call a plumber. Amazing !!! I'm just warning to be cautious with them. Don't let their nice words hypnotize you; and be cautious with every notice they take or design. They will find any way to not help you. read more

Middle of December I put a deposit to convert my shower. The salesman was very knowledgeable and the process was very simple. I expected it to be installed in the middle of January, but it did not happen until February 3rd. That being said the installation was great. Bath Fitters Complaint I completed a contract with Bath Fitter and Due to unforeseen emergency situations I had to postpone the installation. On original contract I gave a deposit $440. and notify the Rep. Barbara that we were not able to have both bathrooms completed. Original Contract Price $5,505.00 The Barbara modified the contract #4615 and I gave another deposit $493. I contacted Bath Fitter to cancel this agreement because my brother had found someone that could remodel the whole bathroom for what they were charging. * December Call Bath Fitter to request my deposit be returned and I was told to send an email to ac355@bahtfittersd.com requesting the deposit. I never heard back from anyone. (see attached copy of email) * January I called again and talked to a man that could not find my file and said he would do some research. He called me back a week later and told me that I could not get my deposit back because I did not cancel within the required time frame. * He said the cancellation policy was on the back of the contract which I did not have a copy of. I did not know about the cancellation policy because when the Rep modified the contract and she did not have an extra copy of what I signed so I took a picture with my cell phone of the front side of the contract. * I asked him to send me a copy of the contract and it is a different from the modified copy I took a photo of. The Contract # and the Contract price was changed $6162. My signature is on this contract but I did not sign this one & I did not get a copy. I have a copy of the contract that was mailed to me the front & the back side which shows the Terms and Conditions of this contract. At the bottom it shows a place for Customer Signature. After contacting Bath Fitter and getting a representative to my residence for measurements, I signed an agreement for a bathtub liner, only, on September 21.  I was told I should expect to wait approximately 6 weeks for my liner to be manufactured and shipped before receiving a call to set a date for installation.  I was immediately charged a deposit of $185 and 3 days later I was charged a progress payment of $555. After 11 weeks transpired and I had not hear a peep from Bath Fitter, I called them.  I was informed that my liner had arrived in their warehouse several weeks prior, but my job (a liner, only) was too small to schedule an installation, as it only takes a few hours and would not fill up an installer's entire day.  Only after criticizing their policy harshly, did they agree to send an installer out on December 30, 14 weeks and 1 day after signing the agreement.   Within minutes of the installer being in my bathroom, he was able to determine that my particular drain configuration was totally incompatible with a Bath Fitter liner.  He informed me that should he proceed with the installation, it would result in flooding to another bathroom directly underneath.  The liner was still in his van, so the installer quickly packed up and left.  After a couple days, I contacted Bath Fitter about a return of my initial deposit of $185 and progress payment of $555.  They agreed to credit me the $555 progress payment, but not the initial deposit of $185.  They claimed that they had a custom liner manufactured to the specifications of my tub and shipped from Tennesee...so basically I don't deserve a total refund.  I am outraged!  They provided me with no product or service....just aggravation. It's another story of the big guy screwing the little guy.  Had their sales consultant been astute when he inspected and measured my tub back on September 21,  he would have noticed the incompatibility. No hype , no unnecessary pressure and best of all a great listener who answered all of our questions while providing us with the facts all in a timely ,up front manner. This company did an awesome job in one day! They replaced an old walk in tub that was unusable with a shower/tub combination. They also added a hand bar to help us get out of the tub. After trying it out I called and asked if they could put in an additional bar- they came right out and installed another bar at no extra charge! The guy did an excellent job even framing the window in the upper part of the shower. It's seamless design makes it so easy to keep clean and it looks really nice. TERRIBLE customer service experience and inferior product! Foremost, it's apparent there's a corporate culture of covering for employees, while pointing fingers at others for their shortcomings. At the end of the day Bath Fitter (specifically salesmen Patrick) promised the world but delivered Uzbekistan. From overselling a 1 day-custom built unit fabricated in Tennessee (after 4-6 week fabrication process), to touting the highest of quality in the market. The truth is you receive an on-site fabricated shower surround from rolled acrylic sheets installed over a bouncy shower pan, heavily siliconed to hide inconsistencies from $7,500 and up! In our case there were numerous times where customer service fell way short. First, when at signing of the contract, our 1 day install would suddenly take 2-3 additional days because of a custom shower door install. This would be one of many broken promises by Patrick in the upcoming weeks. Frankly, we should have followed our gut and cancelled the install when we questioned a phone call by Bath Fitter just two days after signing, stating they had everything to install the upcoming Friday. Baffled how fast it took to fabricate the bath surround lead us on a trail of discovering what the true process was (not a prebuilt impenetrable surround) but, rather, material fabrication onsite with the existing bench seat fabricated as a patch in with a silicone seal. A trip to the showroom to see an example of a bench seat left us bewildered as an impatient lady in the office spoke how the salesmen "shouldn't say this or that because it isn't the case" in a "take it or leave it" sorta way. In short, Patrick promised ceiling to floor wall coverage, a completely customized fit over our existing bench seat, interim shower rod while awaiting the door and door install with 2-3 days...none of which happened. Not to mention that the material installed over our bench differs from the rest of the walls (a judgement call made by installer the day of, even though it stated otherwise on the install paperwork and was something we hashed out with Patrick weeks prior). In the meantime a follow up call by US to Bath Fitter the following day leaves us with an explanation that the glass door measurement appointment will take 5-10 days, Not to include fabrication and install. Further, rather than Bath Fitter taking steps to right this ship and request priority directly given what Patrick promised they simply provided us the door installer's number to call direct to influence an earlier install. This resulted in an appointment on Friday (shower was completed Monday), with install in 2 weeks. No resolution. Here we sit with an open shower redesigned to accommodate an 88 y/o aunt which is unusable due to no curtain rod as promised and still no call back from Patrick with a resolution. Could we find a resolution to this? Of course. But we shouldn't have to as this was promised; and more importantly there was a complete fabrication of the truth regarding the door install to simply close the sale, which is the greater issue. it's a sad but typical story where the sales people paint unrealistic pictures to make the hard sell. The office seems to know this; and the process, but isn't willing to address sales people nor step in to rectify things on behalf of the customer. Terrible service. In all sincerity If I could have given a negative review, Bath Fitter would have earned it. read more

We had our old existing bathtub replaced by BathFitters. Matthew was the sales rep that did our initial free consultation and estimate. Very friendly knowledgeable, and explained things clearly. We decided to move forward with the installation which was about 5 weeks out from the day we signed our contract. Our installer, Jake was running maybe 15 mins late but still had courtesy to let me know about it. He was professional. Arrived at 9AM and was done by 7PM. He cleaned all the surrounding areas really well after the job including the hallway and even the garage! Our new bathtub looks great and works well so far! I'll start by saying I have NEVER given a bad review over internet since I believe in solving issues directly and not damaging people's reputation. But after my experience with lack of concern and not being able to solve issues after 2 months I am compelled to document my experience! In June 2022 I purchased 2 bath to shower convertions and July 16th installation day the installers were on time and as promised left by 5pm. However, they had to return next day to install missing parts, and shower doors were loose. As instructed by them we couldn't run water for 24 hours after installation so that all is sealed. After 24 hours when our guest took shower the drain was plugged. We called and an employee came and "checked" drain and said it was working fine just a slow drain. Regarding the shower doors not aligning and one being so loose we were afraid it would fall- the employee stated he would notify the company for installers to return.That same night our guest tried to take shower in the "unplugged" drain and still again, water rose to top and still would not drained properly. Another call to BathFitters- the office manager said the production mgr would have someone the next day, Friday. By 3pm no one had shown up so I called Bathfitters. When asked why it had taken 5 days and still drainage and 2 disfunctional shower doors-the office manager said the production supervisor had been notified and there was nothing he could do! I said to him "but you promised me yesterday someone would be here today" and he Hung up the phone! This time my husband was on speaker when I called back and the office manager kept saying there was nothing else he could do- that they don't work Saturdays and the next available appointment was Wednesday Sept.16th. He suggested we call a plumber to solve the slow drainage issue in the meantime. He was RUDE, non emphathetic and combative! They came on Wednesday as promised- solved the slow drainage issue but we are still awaiting for someone to fix shower door issue after almost 3 weeks since our last call. My husband ended up fixing one of the shower doors that was hanging which is evidence of their lack of concern and/or inability to solve problem. I will never recommend them! read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Bath Fitters. From the first consult visit, to follow-up, scheduling and installation, everything went as planned and promised. In spite of a few un-foreseen challenges on day 1, the team persevered and stayed on schedule, coming up with a creative solution and even Justin the manager showed up, rolled up his sleeves and pitched in. This has been the most stress-free, pleasant remodel I have ever done. Aaron was extremely thorough, high attention to detail and professional. Update: I found a cheaper option with JF Tile and Construction. Highly recommended! Barbara was an excellent salesperson. She was very knowledgable of the product that she was selling & had sufficient samples with her. The site shows you a variety of options in terms of design. They were my 1st bath quote so I really had no point of comparison. Eventually, I found some comparable pricing from local tile companies who can do acrylic-tile work & all-tile work for us. The add-ons such as organizers or doors were more expensive with Bath Fitter so in the end, they were about a thousand dollars over the other quotes. We had three days to cancel but since our 2nd quote wasn't coming in until the 4th day, I had asked her to just cancel instead. She stated that she could definitely wait & extend the waiting period. The only issue we had is that her company cashed out our deposit on the 3rd day. I had contacted Barbara immediately & she said that they don't really leave checks laying out. I guess it made sense although I feel that a day of waiting wouldn't be that bad. The reason for us not going with Bath Fitter was simply because we had other small jobs around the kitchen. Combining it with the bathroom reno will be saving us more money in the end. In summary, I definitely had a great experience with the consult. The reimbursement just took a little longer than we would like. That is exactly why I wish that the company did not cash our check and just gave us that extra day, as we were told. That would've saved me over a week waiting for our money back. In general, Bath Fitter is pretty straightforward, quick option over having your bathroom tiled. We have one more bathroom open for renovation. I'm not closing my doors on them just yet. :) read more

The decision to select Bath Fitter for my master bath upgrade now ranks as the single worst decision of my adult life. Upon destroying my shower and breaking pipes underneath the slab, I was quickly informed I need to get it fixed and call them back when it's take care of. No assistance or guidance whatsoever, in fact made sure to tell me they aren't ever liable for anything they break or damage - great clause for a sheisty business model, as they only attacked piping under the slab (completely functional, prior to Bath Fitter) because their cheap products are only pre-fabbed for central drain, vice accommodating the present, working pipes. I am now likely facing tens of thousands in required repair, all because I bought the sales pitch. read more

I was fortunate to see these folks at the San Diego Home Show in January and went to this show room recently. First off, Shelly the office manager was SO incredibly accomodating to my schedule that she opened the store on HER DAY OFF to allow us to visit on the only day I could bring my mother. Their product line of customer made QUALITY acrylic tub and shower units is very impressive. This company has a C-36 license from the State Contracting Board, which is puzzling as they couldn't get the valve they installed to work in any way shape or form, even with return trips. The excuse that Chris came up with was totally false and ment to cover his backside, but to some one who is experienced, it just wasn't reasonable. I had to have my contractor make repairs to get it to work. They did not deduct anything off the bill. Tub and wall material were fine, but the state will be contacted to look at how they maintain a C-36. I maintain facilities for a local agency, I would hope I never have to deal with a contractor like this, but the reality is that they are out there. Im saddened to write this review. We began our long restoration project that began with a plumbing issue from our upstairs neighbors. We were able to get an appointment with Patrick who gave us an estimate and we were basically sold on how good their product is as well as the comforting assurance that there would be a project manager throughout the process. Was advised to begin work would need first down payment and I was reluctant because insurance was yet to give us funds but used credit card with Chris in the office. they started work in both restrooms and during install my husband and I asked about the sizing of the green board plaved behind the tub wall. We we're told it was. after completing guest shower/tub we moved belongings back in and noticed a bubbling in the wall also some automatic charges to our credit card for remaining balance. Issue is that you should not be charging for payment without notifying the customer and verifying. 2ndly we called office spoke wigh chris about our concern and his lack of empathy or concern is what I find most offensive since it is a ugly time right now and understanding is needed. So the 4th visit when our master shower door was installed by different installer Jacob we asked him if he could take a look at our guest wall and if that was what should be happening, he advised no and we would need to call office again and have them schedule for repair. Mind you every visit after the initial I've had to call and follow up for schedule as well as update on install items. After a week of review me calling and then another week to tell me the meeting review they advise they can schedule us to come back this week (were at Monday afternoon) I said ok Wednesday no we onkh have Friday (this has been the same type of scheduling this remainder of the process. fine they come friday and installer advises issue probably because it was cut on the grass not flat surface. also in the last conversation with Chris about Friday's repair I did ask for some management to speak woth since the lack of customer service or any communication in this entire process. Chris said he is the office manager basically disregarding my request advising they have been short staffed, again not apologetic for anything. Im completely disappointed its been a total of 9 weeks and if I could have gone back I would not have gone with Bathfitters for my home. If any one has a number other than the office and Chris to speak to I'd appreciate it. I really feel taken advantage of and in a compromised position during alot of this process. read more

I have them replace a valve tub liner in my apartment and water his truck underneath the liner and they came out try to fix it we're unable to fix it became out a second time with no success and I have yet to replace the liner and fix the problem so I am out about $2000 dollars read more
