A go to spot for me also. On to the review! I walk in and greeted by a very polite person asking me what I would like and started off with a loaf of Italian bread sliced. They grab the loaf fly to the back and before you know they are right back and asked if I wanted anything else and I asked for some torpedo rolls and while they grabbed that I scooped up some Hermit cookies (my favorite thing here!). We square up at the counter with a fast polite credit card transaction and I'm out the door ( watch the step going in and out). Great little town bakery where most the locals can be seen chit chatting back and forth while ordering stuff. Great friendly vibe. Nice clean place and really awesome Hermit cookies! Everything in their display case looked enticing, and staff was friendly and patient as we asked what the individual pastries were, as many had delectable creams or fillings of various flavors. They also serve up ice cream, cookies, and coffee/caffeinated drinks. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which gives off wonderful local cafe vibes. The parking lot is a bit tricky as there's only a one lane entry/exit, so could result in accidents if you and other drivers aren't careful in paying attention. We tried a Santiago orange-chocolate cake slice, an almond croissant, a chocolate chip cookie, and a selection of their 5 mini pastries. These baked treats (5/5) were all excellent in terms of quality, with delicious and satisfying flavors which we really liked. They use fresh and high quality ingredients, so while prices aren't cheap, they are reasonably in line for the quality of baked goods you're purchasing. We also ordered a cappuccino (4/5) which was beautifully presented, but wasn't our favorite among area coffee shops, but still an excellent accompaniment to enjoy their baked goods. We'll definitely be back and would recommend Madrid European Bakery and Patisserie to others. Their list of ice cream flavors looked unique and intriguing, so that only creates a dilemma of which sweet treats you choose to indulge yourself in when visiting.

They have a large selection and carry items beyond baked goods for those looking for some Central American tidings. What I got (which I can't name or tell you what it was) was overall pretty good. The prices are cheap, like 3 cookies for $1 cheap. In general, their products have much, much less sugar than American pastries and are a bit more dense. It is a refreshing change from the neighborhood's Italian bakeries. The only downside was the guy behind the counter didn't speak English well enough for me to ask lots of questions. He was nice and tried his best though!

Typically my grandparents or mother make the trek to Fall River to pick up their fresh made bread, spinach and meat pies, but today I volunteered to make the drive there myself. While the building is large, the 'shop area' is small, consisting of an L shaped counter, a few shelves with some pantry staples, and two refrigerated cases with beverages, yogurt, and cheeses. There was a steady stream of foot traffic while I was there, people mostly popping in to get a few pies for lunch or stocking up on bread. The line moved quickly and efficiently and we were in and out in no time at all. Their pricing is reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. We spent just about $100 today, but came home with dozens of spinach and meat pies to share and enough bread to stock our freezer for a few weeks. Definitely worth the drive. Pro tip: order one day ahead for 'party size' spinach and meat pies - a smaller version of their traditional pies - which are perfect for any party or family get together.

My go to choices are the meat pie and the open faced cheese. I mean how do you go wrong with feta?! It's my favorite cheese and I want it on everything. I also purchase the Syrian/pita bread for my hummus and tabouli. Everything I have ever tried is always good and super fresh. The staff hustles in that store and always serve with a smile no matter how busy they are. The parking is a little difficult and the place is busy so you have to be patient but it's well worth it.
