For most of us, it was our first time vodka tasting, and we were warmly welcomed and seated immediately upon arrival. After being introduced to the tasting menu, we each selected three to four vodka flavors to sample, followed by a handcrafted cocktail of our choice. The tasting experience was thoughtfully curated, and the staff was exceptionally knowledgeable, engaging, and eager to answer questions. To make the experience even better, we ordered a fresh wood fired pizza that paired perfectly with the tasting. Every vodka we sampled was excellent, showcasing both quality and creativity, and the cocktails were equally impressive. From the attentive service to the relaxed atmosphere, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely return the next time we're in Sonoma.

Well if that sparks an interest, check out Hanson of Sonoma Distillery in Sonoma, CA, on Highway 12. They make organic vodka infused with real fruit. It's award winning. $25 tastings six vodka flights. $75 tasting with a tour of the distillery. They have other assorted tasting flights $35 plus and cocktails $15. Some of the vodka infused flavors are habanero, mandarin orange, meyer lemon and cucumber. They also have infused gin and whiskey. They have small bites as well. The tasting room has great all around vibes. Friendly, down to earth staff. Right when I stepped in, I noticed the design aesthetics. I liked the full bar look with the stacked shelves and the lounge area. Beautiful, modern tasting room. The building outdoor grounds has a pond and seating area. However when I visited, the entire pond water surface was covered with algae. But I'm sure they'll work to clean that up making it picture perfect; the outdoor garden and landscaping is quite beautiful. Selfie opp.

Located in the Napa Valley Distillery, it's a beautiful space that combines both indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe here was very casual on a Saturday. We enjoyed the sounds of Robert Gastellum's Latin Jazz Fusion Band doing their thing on the congas, trumpet, sax, keyboard, drums, and bass. It was cool entertainment, even if the sound quality wasn't perfect. For drinks, we ordered a Whiskey Sour and Strawberry Coast at the bar, and the staff said they'd bring it out to our seats. The wait times were a bit long for what I expected with the bar being fairly empty earlier in the evening. But the workers were friendly. The Strawberry Coast was delicious, though a tad too sweet for my taste. Overall, this is a cool spot especially if they have a show going on, no fee, just good times... and a parking lot too.

After dinner at Napa Valley Bistro we decided to drop by here on a Saturday night. They had a lady singing in the warehouse area and were charging a $5 cover charge. We had no interest in listening to the music so when I asked a guy at the front if we could just go to the bar and have a drink, he said "sure". So we didn't have to pay the cover which was nice. We walked over to the bar and sat down, (we were the only ones in the bar). The bartender Alexander greeted us and gave us a couple of menus. The drinks listed seemed very good but I was looking to go off menu. First Alexander made me a Tequila drink that was very good. The wife ordered the Flamenco, another Tequila drink that has Passionfruit syrup and Raspberry Shrub. This was very good as well. For my next drink Alexander asked me if I liked Scotch. I told him that I didn't really drink Scotch but he had a drink in mind that he thought I would like. I don't know what it was. It was a tad spirit forward but it was good as well. Fot my next drink I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with Gin or Rum but Alexander recommended their Mai Tai. Looking at the ingredients on the menu this is not your mother's Mai Tai. No Coconut, no Orange or Pineapple Juice. Other than Orgeat it looks like their version is pretty much all Rum. While making the drink Alexander torched a cinammon stick and dropped some Lime peel curls over the glass. It was quite the presentation. Sadly, the drink was just a bit too strong for me. It just seemed like drinking a big glass of Rum. After noticing that I was not thrilled with the Mai Tai Alexander said he would happily make me something else. So I asked him for an Industry Sour and he said he could make on with Gin. He brought me the drink and whatever Amaro he used for the drink was verey potent. Very strong herbal components and a big hint of minty flavor. It was a bit overpowering but I respected the drink. I asked Alexander if he could make it a touch sweeter and he added some more simple syrup and that improved the drink quite a bit. A few regulars came in while we were there and asked for Espresso Martini's. I've had a few Espresso Martini's in my time and I even make my own version at home with Vanilla Vodka, homemade Kahlua and Luxardo Espresso Liquer. But the ones that Alexander made had to be the most elaborate I've ever seen. I saw him put drops of something into the shaker tins and do some dry shaking before making the drinks. He also torched cinammon sticks and laid them across the top of the glasses. I've never seen an Espresso Martini made this way. Made me want to try one. Overall the experience at the Hollywood Room was very good. Alexander is a great bartender that certainly knows his craft. He was very open to trying things and surprising me with drinks that I hadn't had before, which I really like. I would say that he's not super outgoing though. Maybe he's just a reserved, quiet guy.

The way they take time to think about every single ingredient going into a cocktail or their food offerings. An extremely nice place to take a date, or your family where you can feel relaxed and accepted, yet not lacking in a beautiful atmosphere. I've met some of my closest friends here! My favorite signature cocktail is the mango jalapeño which they thankfully sell in 4 packs and they taste just as good as if they were made fresh. I'm not scared to try drinks made with liquor that I normally wouldn't drink as they are so scientific about the ingredients going into the cocktail that it flows so nicely! They've turned me back onto whiskey just with how delicious it is. Also they kill it with the gin and vodka flavors. 10/10 will always tell my friends and family to visit when they're in town, and if you're a townie and you haven't been here- wtf are ya doin?

Located in the historic downtown area of Winters, the tasting room blends naturally into the town's relaxed atmosphere while still presenting a polished and professional environment. The space itself is inviting and well-designed, creating a comfortable setting where visitors can slow down, learn about the distillation process, and enjoy the spirits being produced on-site. The moment I walked in, the team welcomed guests warmly and immediately created an environment that felt both educational and social rather than transactional. One of the strengths of Patio29 is the way the staff approach the tasting experience. Rather than simply serving samples, they take time to explain the philosophy behind their distillation methods, ingredient selection, and the development of their spirits. That level of engagement elevates the experience because you begin to appreciate the craftsmanship and intentionality behind each bottle. The conversation naturally flows from the history of the distillery to the production techniques they use, which helps visitors understand how small-batch distillation differs from large commercial operations. The spirits themselves demonstrate strong balance and technical precision. Their vodka stands out for its clean structure and smooth finish, making it enjoyable both neat and as a cocktail base. The gin offers a well-structured botanical profile with bright aromatics and a controlled level of juniper that allows other botanical elements to come forward without overpowering the palate. The cocktail program also deserves recognition because the bartenders clearly understand how to highlight the character of each spirit. Instead of masking the base spirit, the cocktails are constructed to complement and elevate the flavor profile, which is a strong indicator of thoughtful beverage craftsmanship. Another aspect that enhances the experience is the atmosphere. Patio29 manages to create a relaxed social setting that encourages conversation and exploration. It feels like a place where locals gather as much as visitors discovering the town for the first time. The tasting room maintains a balance between professionalism and approachability, making it easy for both experienced spirit enthusiasts and casual visitors to feel comfortable. Overall, Patio29 Spirits Co. delivers a refined yet welcoming craft distillery experience that reflects both technical skill and community-oriented hospitality. The combination of well-executed spirits, knowledgeable staff, and a comfortable environment makes it a destination worth visiting if you are exploring the craft beverage scene in Northern California.

Amid derelict epic dry dock gantry crane trusses and girders and concrete and 19th century brickwork and the potential fragrances of nuclear/PCBs/dioxin toxic soils underfoot. Don't stand in one place too long, I think. Enough o' that. Dining space is appointed consistent with the industrial surroundings yet still feels warm. Some hi-tops in bar area ready to go. Several tables around the dining space in various deuce/four-top plans. Full bar has several stools at the beautifully carved arcade with one of the most energetic, personable, knowledgeable bartenders this side of the bay bridge. He'll lay out the mash bill for every one of their house distilled spirits if u ask. Legend. Their distilled selections are impeccable and should be sampled while ur there. Wine and beer list is well considered and covers the bases. Menu is fried chicken/southern/soul spirited done consistently and well. My highlights being the pork braised collards with a touch of spice, chicken sandwich and crinkle cuts. Mmmm, pot likker. Don't miss that. Sandwich is robust, crispy, dressed flavorful and balanced. Crinkle cut fries crispy and fluffy inside. Dippin' heaven. Dining service can feel a bit sluggish, disjointed and inattentive at times. Don't fear being a little assertive for what u want, staff are gracious always even if a little behind the vibe. Consider also their scheduled hours of operation. Now thurs thru Sunday. What we've found is by Sunday afternoon u may face a lack of many things from the menu. Our last: Order BLT salad? No bacon. No tomatoes. No go. Ok. How 'bout fried green beans? No green beans. Kinda felt like, "Ok, tell me what u do have." Chicken sandwiches? Yep. Ok do that. Thats the way it goes sometimes. By the time my belly was full with yummy chicken I wasn't mad at 'em. The awesome after lunch S&C bourbon manhattan at the bar further mellowed my mild service-harsh. Get in, get early. Rest rooms are to the left of the bar. Clean and roomy. Come as u are unisex appointments. Hand wash station as you return to dining room. Joe Bob says go Savage what they're Cooke-n.

My wife was adamant in wanting to do the Sonoma foodie tour since she had never been in Sonoma before. Sherry kept in constant contact with my wife by email & text as she was our same tour guide back then. In fact she called her the day before & expressed concern of establishments not fully opened due to covid. So she managed to persuade my wife to do the foodie tour in Napa again instead. Maybe bc my wife told her she was wearing a long dress. Yup that did it! Sherry had started us at the infamous Oxbow public market with taking pics of the 4 of us in front. Yes that was a plus bc how often do you vacation & you do a quick selfie of everywhere you go? Ugh...all the time! LOL Sherry was informative, personable & quite the leader for our tour. She was sensitive to our needs & we totally enjoyed our six different stops walking leisurely from Oxbow market to throughout downtown Napa & back to the market. We had even walked by their farmers market which was on a Tuesday but unfortunately they were in the process of closing up since it was already noon. Our tour was a full three hours & we were totally satiated. What was quite enjoyable was we were with another couple whom we already knew in advance. Supposedly there was supposed to be 6 of us but that third couple mistakenly came the day before. Haha my wife said it was bc the Mercury was in retrograde! This foodie tour was ultimately like our own private tour! Yay! It was also to celebrate my wife's birthday. She had the time of her life. Thank you Sherry! Hope to go on your foodie tour in Sonoma one day soon! Book your next foodie tour here in Napa with Sherry! I highly recommend her.
