We were staying at the Hampton Inn nearby and accidentally stumbled upon Southside Century and what happy accident! The cauliflower tacos were one of the most amazing dishes we ever had. It honestly had a fish taco texture, but with no fish. We wish this restaurant were nearby us. The restaurant is fast casual, you order at the cashier and then a server delivers your food to you. The service is great, the employees are friendly, offer suggestions, and checkin to make sure everything tastes good. This is a can't miss cafe. I had breakfast here on a Friday. The staff that helped me were very friendly and helpful. I ordered a cardamom vanilla latte and the Tostada Rancheros con Carnitas. The latte was really good, the punchy cardamom (which I love) and the vanilla are a great combo, which is probably not for those who don't like to taste the spice, it is very spice forward. The Tostada Rancheros con Carnitas was also pretty good with savory and small sweet notes throughout, I just felt it was missing some depth; but for how quickly it arrived and how fresh it was, it was good. The ambiance is great, comfortable with a nuetral-toned landscape and a vinyl record player going I felt welcome right away. My table was wobbly despite the feet being flat as the tabletop itself seemed to be loose which made it a bit challenging to cut and eat my food without fear of my plate or latte accidentally tipping over. Southside Century is a family owned restaurant located in South Napa next to theater. The atmosphere is casual-order at the counter-self service water. That being said food is exquisite. The sauce on both the Cuban sandwich and my carnitas tostadas were delicious! The Cuban sandwich was one of the best that I have ever tasted. The owner/chef has been a chef at some of the top wineries in Napa Valley. His beautiful wife is there greeting the guests and making sure everyone is happy. We love Southside with their trendy, little modern indoor area & their nicely shaded outdoor patio! A very convenient place to meet when I come over from Sonoma to see my husband while he's working - service is speedy and kind! But it's the food that keeps bringing us back. They have nice variations of avocado toast, which I love and they have delicious breakfast sandwiches. They also have delicious biscuits and gravy (and other unique and fun breakfast and lunch dishes) plus decent coffee (I prefer the Americanos) and delightful pastries! You can't go wrong at Southside and you can have breakfast (or lunch) in under 30-45 minutes, which is really nice and efficient. (Also, If you go for breakfast, there is plenty of parking.) Came in for breakfast this morning and SO many things sounded incredibly appealing. I settled on trying the New School Avocado toast and a salted honey lavender latte. As everyone's meal started arriving at our table, my sister-in-law pointed out to me that they brought me the wrong order (old school vs new school avocado toast.) With both being the same price, I figured I'd just roll with it and not make mention. However, quite rapidly staff was back at the table addressing the mistake they had made (and very quickly caught on their own), delivering my correct dish at the same time. It's not often places catch their own mistakes, but even less often that it's instantly corrected. I appreciated the attention to detail! All 5 poached eggs at our table were poached to absolute perfection, perfectly running down our plates as we split them open. Wow! This place has rapidly become our favorite lunch spot in Napa! A few of the delicious items that we've tried from their lunch and breakfast menus were the smoked chicken salad, superfood bowl, Cuban sandwich, and (breakfast) tostado rancheros con carnitas. All were so creative and perfectly prepared! The inside dining room is clean and bright and airy. There is also seating on the outdoor patio. Today I tried the biscuits and gravy came with yummy runny poached eggs. The twin kids got a giant pancake to split. We visited Napa from Orange County (and we're picky about food), and Southside Century seriously delivered. We came on New Year's Day for brunch with my family to celebrate my aunt's 57th birthday and were seated and able to order fast -- not because the restaurant was empty, but because the owner is genuinely that good at keeping everything moving smoothly. Our food came out quickly and everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered the chilaquiles, loaded avocado toast, and barbacoa -- all hits. Fresh, true "Cali-vibe", flavorful, and exactly what you want from a solid brunch spot. Perfect fuel before making our way to wine tasting. Check this out if you love cocktails but perhaps want to minimize your buzz or you have to drive right afterward. I met one of the owners and she explained that they give samples of some of the spirits. They also provide nonalcoholic versions of cocktails like French 75s. There Baja salsa is also Jain friendly. So they can make tostada Jain as well. It is a pretty good breakfast place in Napa and especially great Jain breakfast/brunch place.
